I will be upfront straightway and admit that this is not a new purchase of mine. I have been using the Bliss Triple Oxygen Mask for about 2 years now. However, when I find a beauty product that delivers on it's promises, I find I have to tell everyone that shares my addiction to beauty products!
I give myself a facial at least once a week, and once I have cleansed and exfoliated I use the Bliss mask.
The product is pumped out of the container in small amounts which personally I prefer to tubed products.
The masks smells divine and is of a pink colour, the consistency is almost gel like and easily applied to the skin using your fingertips.
The product description states that once you have applied it to the skin, wait 5 minutes until a full foam appears and then rinse your face well. I have found that in some instances the product will foam up almost immediately.( I just presume this is in my most dry areas.) I must stress that this is a super strength skincare product, and it really gives fantastic results in 5 minutes, the likes of which other brands could only hope to achieve in 30 minutes.
I use this all over my face and neck, and any product I have left on my fingers, I apply to the back of my hands - which works amazingly too!
I am in my mid thirties and would highly recommend Bliss Triple Oxygen Mask to anyone 30plus. If you are younger and have prematurely ageing skin, this would be a great product for you to include in your weekly skincare routine.
Used once a week this mask will last for quite some time, so initially the price may make your eyes water, but please see it as an investment. (It will save you a lot of money on salon facials)
Bliss has been one of my favourite skincare brands for a long time now, although i can't always justify the price all the time. Bliss started out as a spa in Soho in New York in 1996 and was founded by Maricia Kilgore (also the founder of the Soap & Glory range and the revolutionary leg toning fit flops). Now there are nine spas worldwide and that includes the only one out of the continental US in London on Sloane Avenue. The Bliss organisation has also partnered up with the hip hotel chain W where all the bathroom products are Bliss and some of them even have Bliss Spas onsite.
I have for some years now used the Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash which i first tried in the W Chicago when i was lucky enough to stay there. So when i heard they were launching the triple oxygen instant energizing mask I ordered it straight away from the London Bliss store which is attached to the spa in Sloane Avenue. One of the Bliss Spa's specialties is the oxygen facial and this was the first time they were to launch a product that was similar to their facial (but obviously significantly cheaper for the diy version)!
Bliss says that this product is engineered as a stand in for their spas world famous triple oxygen treatment, it releases oxygen molecules and detoxifiers and is a super quick fix for dull, tired, sallow skin. The mask comes in a 100ml white pump action bottle with lid, it is branded cleanly and simply like the rest of the Bliss range, making it instantly identifiable as one of their products.
After cleansing your skin (I use the fabulous foaming facial wash) you massage a generous layer of the pearlised pink gel onto damp skin. The gel begins to foam on your face which can be a funny sensation kind of tickly as it bursts on the skin. You wait 5 minutes until a full foam forms, then rinse it off with a warm cloth and follow with your moisturiser. They say to use whenever your skin needs a boost and up to a maximum of 3 times a week.
I generally use it once a week and it gives my skin a glow as if i have just had a facial. My skin is visibly softer and smoother and looks fabulous after using it, it also feels great to touch and lasts. the gel smells nice not too over perfumed or offensive and is very easy to apply. This is the kind of face mask i like it doesn't take long, is easy to use and gives you results, instantly.
I can't recommend this product highly enough it is fab-u-lous!
Now to the downside the price it costs £39, which is a lot of money for a face mask, although what price do you put on your skin. I use it sparingly and watch how much i use of it but i can't give my addiction to this up so will be giving up other things to keep my habit for the triple oxygen instant energizing mask.
It is available to buy from Bliss Spa London, the Boots website in the Beauty Boutique section, Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nicols.
My mission in life is to try as many beauty products as possible, so that hopefully I will become an 80 year old with the face of a 20 year old. (if you dont have a dream eh!!) So when walking through Selfridges and seeing a new brand i was intrueged.
The bliss brand has only been around for a short while, according to its website it was founded in 1996, starting off as a single spa in Soho New York. Now it is bringing a spa to your home! It specialises in skincare, bodycare, spa and its more popular products the cellulite range.
The Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energising Mask (phew thats a mouthful) is the best selling mask of the Bliss range and also gets featured in many many magazines, which is one of the reasons I decided to use it.
It claims to deliver oxygen to the skin using Fluid02 technology, hydrate the skin with humectant molecules that doesnt leave the skin greasy, brighten, lighten and tighten the skin using the most active and powerful form of Vit C available, and protects cells from damage with powerful antioxidants. It is said to be a quick fix for dull and tired skin, and will leave you with a younger and fresher face.
It is suggested to be used by people who have skin problems such as tired looking skin, acne, ageing and smoke ridden. Men (or women) who suffer from ingrown facial hair and anyone hitting their 30s may benefit from this mask.
According to the website this is how the mask works its wonders:
"Studies show that as we age, the natural oxygen levels circulating in our facial skin decline, and along with them, goes the energy needed to keep our cells functioning like the cells on a 'fresh' face. More oxygen (and vitamin C, and hydration) means more energy for all of the biochemical processes required by your body to keep your skin functioning like it's 'young'."
The name of this product may be a tiny bit misleading as it seems to be more of a cleanser than a mask. You apply a generous layer to damp skin, leave for 5 minutes then rinse off. The mask is a natural skin coloured liquid, with a shimmer appearance, once you apply you can feel it tickling as it turns to a foam on your skin. It has quite a fresh citrusy scent to it which isnt too overpowering. Once I washed it off my skin felt really clean and tighter, although I noticed it stripped my fake tan off my face so I suppose it did a REALLY good job of cleansing. The label says use with toner and/or moisturiser, personally I enjoyed the fresh feeling so left my skin to be naked!!
The mask should only be used a maximum of 3 times a week and at £39 for a full size bottle im quite glad! Although I'm used to paying more for higher quality skincare when the price popped up on the till I did have palpatations, the packaging seems quite plain and lead me to the prusumption it wouldnt be 'too' expensive. However you only need a small amount as it foams up on your face, I'v had my bottle for over 6 months so its definately lasting.
I do think the product is worth the money though, you only have one skin so why not look after it. I love how clean my skin feels after, the only problem is that once or twice it has given me an outbreak of spots the next day but I've heard that this is because its bringing all the dirt out of your skin.
Bliss still has some spas but there are counters where you can try and buy its products in places such as Selfridges and Boots. You can also buy the products online, however I prefer to buy in the shops as you get freebies :)
With all my testing of beauty products, I have over time tried and tested some utterly pointless products and some products that I have absolutely loved and become a huge fan of. One range I have become quite a fan of, although my bank manager would prefer it if I stuck to Lush, is the Bliss range.
The Bliss range was founded in 1996 in a New York Spa and now with ten years experience and 9 Spa's later the range has grown from one or two products which became highly sought after to an entire range consisting of skin care products, bath and body products, hair removal and body waxing, fitness footwear, make-up and hair care to name but a few of them. Here in the United Kingdom you can find Bliss products in places like Harrods, Harvey Nicks, Selfridges, Sephora and Boots. The price of each product is a lot more expensive than you are likely to pay for a high street brand for example a body scrub would cost in the region of £27 a tub. So with this range unless you are lucky enough to find a tester, you do have to pay up front to try it, that is one of the reasons I am glad at times that I get to test these products for free.
The product I am reviewing this time is the Bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Mask which is sold in the non descriptive white 100ml plastic bottle which is similar in looks to the Boots own brand of products, for £39 a bottle it is definitely very bland in design and doesn't look at all interesting sat on your bathroom shelf, nor does it cry out that you have just spent £39 on it, but maybe it is meant to give the minimal look. As well being bland in looks this product has a pull off lid which disguises the pump action mechanism underneath.
This product is sold with the following statement:
"The Triple Oxygen Treatment--a skilled esthetician, having massaged, deep-cleaned and purified your pores, will hover gracefully over your head waving a thin plastic hose, directing pure pressurized oxygen through a customized blend of micro-molecular skin rehydrators, vitamins and antioxidants, all in a heroic effort to rapidly revitalize and re-energize your skin" and I was told to base my assessment on whether or not this happened. I was also informed that as we get older, the natural oxygen levels that we have circulating in our facial skin declines and we need the oxygen to keep our skin looking young and with that in mind this product was designed to give the skin short blasts of oxygen to boost the overall look and effects of and on the skin. One of the things I worry about most living in London is the effect all of the pollution has on my skin, having read numerous articles on how quickly your skin can age when it is subjected to higher than average levels of pollution, dirt and grime I worried and quickly sought out a solution. I have tried face masks, lotions, potions, facial dermabrasion kits and so on and although some of them have left me with smoother and cleaner looking skin, I never really thought about underneath the skin, until I got this product.
When I got this product I was actually expecting to receive a facial mask that you apply to the skin and leave it to either dry onto the skin or dry enough so that you can have fun peeling it off. Not this product, it does neither of those actions, instead when it comes to using it the instructions are that you ensure your face is clean before using this product, this is because the skin needs to be clear of any surface dirt and grime and any make-up you may have applied and then using the pump action mechanism and then apply and massage a generous layer of foam onto your skin, which needs to be damp and then leave it for at least 5 minutes. The texture of this product is also similar to shaving foam in that it is silky and smooth, but thick enough that it sticks to your hand. When you are applying it to your face it is also really easy to massage over the skin, and as you do so it begins to turn white creamy, rich lather. The scent of this liquid is slightly citrusy but it only becomes evident once it is on your skin rather than when it is dispensed from the bottle. Once the foam has formed rinse it off your face and pat your face dry. Bliss then advise that you should tone or moisturise your skin with another one of their products which I also happen to have as part of the test I was doing but I don't believe it has to be their product, it could be any toner or moisturiser.
As I have pointed out this products is only left on your skin for 5 minutes and again there is an explanation for it. Those at Bliss state that they have formulated this product to be fast because it uses an ingredient called FluidO2 which is called liquid ventilation which carries oxygen molecules onto the skins surface and releases them allowing it to be a fast action product designed to give the skin a boost when it is in need. Then there are to further ingredients to note, firstly there is Sodium PCA which helps to keep the skin hydrated and smooth and another called BV-OSC which according to the notes I've been given is the most multi-active and most powerful form of vitamin C and for the skin helps to improve the overall look of your skin leaving it healthy and glowing.
So having read the science bit and used it a fair few did my skin feel rejuvenated, moisturised, soft a smooth to the touch? The simple answer is yes.
I was tasked with using this product three times a week, the idea being that my tired looking skin which had been battered by the cold and wet weather it did look dull and not at its usual healthy glowing self so I was quite happy to try this product. Bliss products to date have never troubled my skin which is very sensitive and does react to certain products, so I am always happy to find something new to try that works really well. After trying this product three times a week for the last 6 weeks in total I have to say it is one of the best products I think I have ever been lucky enough to test. Even after the first application there was such a notable difference in my skin my work colleagues asked me what I had been using because I not only had a healthy glow, but my skin was totally rejuvenated, all of the blemishes had gone from my cheeks along with the dry skin which had begun to form. It basically left me with the same fresh, clean revitalized sensation I get every time I have a facial at my local beauty centre it is that good. The overall results meant that I was left with a tighter, fresher and younger looking face which glowed naturally and could breathe without being all clogged up with the dirt and grime of living in London.
So do I recommend it? Well naturally I think it is brilliant, even if I hadn't had the opportunity to test it for free, I probably would have sought it out at some stage to give it a try because it has such good reviews in magazines that I have read. It is expensive but it does work and it is long lasting, the bottle contains 100ml which doesn't sound a lot but because it goes from a liquid to foam you actually don't need to use very much at all. For me you definitely get your moneys worth. I have been using it now for little over 6 weeks and I would be surprised if I had used anywhere near half the bottle, all you have to remember is the price!
