Advantages: Does what it claims to do, and really well. Smells great, 92% organic, an real bargain.

Disadvantages: The cotton cloth isn't the best.

I had previously tried the foaming cleanser for Oily/Sensitive skin in the Boots Botanics range, and whilst I thought it did it's job well, and seemed to improve the apearance of my skin it was still a little too drying. After reading rave reviews about the cleansing balm I decided to give it a go in the hope that this would leave my skin soft and supple.

I have annoying dry, sensitive but very oily skin so finding a decent product that doesn't aggrevate it is no mean feat. At last however I seem to have found it in this little miracle pot. The product itself is certified 92% organic, and comes in a plastic jar with a metal screw top lid contained inside a cardboard box outer. Although it doesn't ooze style it still looks nice in the bathroom, but as for the cotton cloth that comes with it.......... well I'd just throw that away as it's pretty useless and invest in a proper muslin cloth or even a flannel would do. The first thing you notice when you take the lid off is the subtle citrussy smell, it's almost good enough to eat! You only need a small amount of the actual product as a little really doe go a long way, I like to dot it on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and then massage it in using small circular motions and in a morning i'll jump in the shower and let the steam from it help to draw out any impurities then use a cloth to remove the balm, (again in small circular movements) at the end of my shower.

Once I've patted my face dry it feels so soft, nourished and of course clean. The shea butter really does work a treat and it without a doubt does soothe the skin as it claims. I was sceptical to begin with, oily balm to cleanse oily skin??? However I needn't have been, and I'd go as far as to say that it has actually helped to control my oily skin over time, and I definitely have fewer blemishes as a result.

I honestly think this product would suit most people and once tried they too would be hooked. At only £6.63 per pot, (and Botanics products are normally on 3 for 2) it's an absolute bargain as my pots lasted the best part of six months with daily use. The ingredients are great, and generally organic and the cardboard box and plastic pot are all recycleable. What's not to love?

Botanics products are available from Boots stores nationwide and online.

Summary: Fabulous product, that will leave your skin looking and feeling amazing at an astounding price.
