I love the smell of cucumber in face and beauty products, I think its so fresh and fragrant smelling and smells really clean and sweet to me. Boots do a really nice range of cucumber products in their essentials range so they are cheap but effective and have that gorgeous cucumber smell. One of the products I have used for a while now is their cucumber facial toner. I have used Clinique toner in the past but as we have been tightening our belt of late I really couldn't justify paying over £20 for a toner when I can get one on the hight street for just £1.50. Its such a good price and you get 150ml so it does last quite a while too.

I had read some reviews on here about this toner and actually went looking for it in Boots and have been pleased with what it does for my face. Boots say that their Essentials Cucumber Facial Toner, which is enriched with soothing cucumber and vitamins, refreshes and tones the skin, removing the last traces of make -up and excess oils.

The toner comes in quite a basic packaging with the essentials logo. The bottle is a light green with a dark green flip cap lid. There little hole in the top is fairly small so I find this ensures that you don't soak your cotton pad in liquid but rather add just enough toner to use on your whole face. I take all my make up off before I use this and see the toner as the final cleaner for my face before I go to bed. Then I apply it to a flat cotton pad , getting most of the pad wet and then smooth it all over my face. It's a really nice sensation as it makes my skin feel just really nice and clean and as if I have a fresh base to go to sleep with and then start again in the morning. It doesn't sting as much as some facial toners I have used and I'm not sure whether this is good or bad. Sometimes I think the sting I got from, for example the Clinique toner, really helped to work and clean my skin deep down, perhaps keeping it firmer and actually helping it in the long run and is perhaps a bit more medicated than this one. However, I still get a nice clean feeling and its good to know all my make up has come off.

It is suitable for all skin types and I would agree with that as I find it fairly mild. For a nice toner that cleans your skin I would recommend this for the price and nice smell.
