I had never used the Boots Expert range before, however I came across this moisturiser on a reduction shelf for only 99p. Considering I often spend quite a bit money on decent moisturisers I thought, 'why not try this cheap one and see if it does the same thing?' I had nothing to lose!

If you have ever seen any of the Boots Expert range then the packaging is all designed the same. It's quite basic, mostly white with large lettering on the front telling you what this product is.
The packaging quotes that I can take action against blemishes with this oil-free daily moisturiser. It's forumlateds with willowbank extract, which is a 'natural source' of salicylic acid, a product often found in anti-blemish products. It also contains SPF15, a huge bonus and quite suprising as you can often purchase expensive moisturisers which don't come with any SPF! It promises me that this product will tackle shine without blocking pores, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth.

I should point out I have very oily skin which is very blemish prone, in fact no matter what I do I am guaranteed to always have at least one big spot plaguing my face along with tons of little pimply ones. The main thing I look for in products are ones which are oil free and help mattify my skin, as usually at the end of the day my forehead in particular has a wonderful sheen to it. I have found products which helps pro long this from happening, and even help lessen it, and should I was hopeful this moisturiser would live up to it's word.

The moisturiser itself is white, and slightly runny. I've found over time that any bits remaining around the lid turn a horrible yellow colour... something I only usually notice with my Quinoderm cream! The moisturiser doesn't particularly smell of anything, and it's not to find a scent to it. Because of it's simple nature I liken it to a product from the Simple skincare range, basic, no fussy smells, and cheap.

It massages into the skin really well, it's not the quickest at being absorbed but I can already feel my skin having a nice soft touch. It's certainly not greasy and doesn't feel heavy on the skin, it's all very 'gentle' and simple. It's quite a good basic moisturiser and considering the full price is only around £2, it's a bargain.

Unfortunately this is where the good points end for me personally. Whilst I've found over time it hasn't caused any extra spots to appear, it hasn't really helped in that area either. It doesn't act as well at mattifying my skin as other moisturisers do, and that's a shame as the product says it helps 'combact shine.' However it does leave my skin feeling smooth and soft, and it's oil-free so I know it's not clogging up my pores and making things worse!

I would suggest this to you, if you are looking for an oil-free moisturiser that won't break the bank at all, and does a basic job of keeping skin soft. If you're looking for a moisturiser which will help fight spots and keep away the excess shine, then I would suggest to go else where.
