Boots Expert Sensitive Restoring Night Treatment!
I have really really dry skin and the only moisturizer that worked was E45 which is really good but it is thick and leaves my skin quite clogged up and greasy, which isn't good in any situation! Im always looking for a moisturizer to completely hydrate and nourish my skin, which is no mean feat! I don't usually buy the boots own brand but I thought I would give it a go. I haven't tried a night cream before and hoped that it would be the answer to all of my skin problems!
The cream is fragrance free, lanolin free and it is dermalogically tested, so that it doesn't damage or irriate your skin. The cream is specifically designed for sensitive skin and because sensitive skin needs extra care, the cream has soothing aloe vera to help restore the skins natural healthy barrier against the weather, daily dirt and pollution that your skin comes into contact with every day!
I love this cream it is soooooo nice! It doesn't make my skin greasy, clogged up or dull. It is a rich, quite thick cream that sinks in to your skin really quickly and easily so you can get ready quicker. It provides a smooth moisturized even skin base for your make up or just on its own. I bought it from boots for about £3.99 which is amazing for what the actual product does! A cream cheap cream! They also make them in travel sizes!
Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful! :D
Anyone who regularly reads my reviews will by now know that I'm rather obsessed with aging. Well more to the point with not aging or that if I have to, to try and age not so badly if possible lol.
Most of my money goes on lotions, potions and creams and although I don't spend oodles of money on a product in particular as I don't choose to believe the hype around wonder creams I do spend alot in general on beauty stuff. I guess it's my biggest vice!
Boots is my favourite shop and I do like Boots own products. I'm a huge fan of No7 and Time Delay products and occasionally do retry the Botanic range (as I find that range very hit and miss)but this range...well it's never thrilled me to be honest and I've always been left disappointed and vowing never to buy anything from the range again. However there was an offer on this range that if you bought something from the face care range I'd get 100 extra advantage points! Me being me of course I wanted the bargain whether I needed anything or not lol
White 50ml recyclable plastic tub with twist on and off lid/cap situated at the top of it. On the front clear label I'm told it is Boots, Expert Sensitive Restoring Night Treatment in purple and lilac writing and there is a photo of a ladies face on it. On the back label I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it. On the bottom of the tub there is a white label that tells me the weight of the product, the recycle symbol is displayed and finally there is a bar-code. Overall although this has simple labelling it's good enough though do be aware that this tub is 'double walled' which basically means that the tub is too big for the amount of cream it contains which makes you think that your getting more for your money (this information is stated about the tub on the tub in small writing).
About The Product....
Sensitive skin needs extra care which is why this nourishing treatment with soothing aloe vera is specifically formulated to work overnight, boasting moisture and helping restore your skin's natural protective barrier.
Directions for Use....
Smooth onto skin after cleansing and toning.
Well the cream is a pure brilliant white colour and has a slightly sort of medicated smell to it but once applied that smell does vanish. I can't detect aloe vera in in no matter how much I sniff at it.
So all I need of this cream to cover my cleansed and toned face and neck is about the size of a 10p (if that). It spreads on very easily as it does have have a sort of slimy consistency rather than a thick stiff cream about it. It just melts onto the skin and vanishes and is fine providing you don't use too much of it. Add too much and the weight of this becomes mask like and a bit sticky and clammy and takes an age to dry in but add a sheer amount of it and you can't feel it at all and it is really easy to feel how much your applying as you go so you don't have to make mistakes.
By applying a small amount as I have said it blends easily and you can't feel it and the smells leaves the face in about a couple of minutes (ish). If you get it on lips it doesn't taste and you can take it right to the rim of your eyes and this stuff doesn't upset them or make them sore or run everywhere. It doesn't make the skin tingle or agitate it when it's being applied or when it's on and as it isn't oily this doesn't make spots worse but it doesn't dry the skin out either in any way shape or form. It feels ok on the skin but doesn't make the skin feel overly soft or anything and it dries in quickly and then you go sleep with it on and as it's dried into the face and neck it doesn't transfer anywhere!
Well it washes off easily the following morning leaving no residue or anything. However I haven't seen any visible results either in the short term or in the long term. I have used this product for a couple of months (every night) and I'm not sure what it's meant to achieve really but in short it's done nothing for me! Skin doesn't look restored, plumped, rejuvenated or less lined or anything else. It doesn't hurt skin at all and is value for money if it works for you as it lasts ages but for me this a big no no and a waste of my money!
Only available in Boots at £4.49 a tub.
