“ Brand: Boots / Type: Face Mask / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
Go wild with this nice strawberry face mask from Boots. Whilst looking to purchase some Montagne Jeunesse face masks in Boots recently I can across these ones from the Boots naturals collection and decided to try them out. I use quite a few products from their Natural collection because they always smell really nice and different, work well and are very inexpensive. This mask only cost me £1 which I think is a great price to pay.
Boots say, "this Natural Collection wild strawberry face mask can help you achieve perfect looking skin. This soothing wild strawberry mask contains wild strawberry to help smooth and soften your skin, while natural clay draws out any impurities or excess oil, leaving your face purified, brighter and looking good enough to eat."I normally do my face masks in the bath as it gives me a bit of time to sit back and relax for 10 minutes.
The mask is easy to apply. It comes in a little foil sachet and there is a little slit which enables you to tear the top off to get to the mask inside. Its hard to do this with wet hands though so I recommend opening it before you run the bath or get your hands wet! Then I just smooth it all over my face and sit back and relax. I would say it's a bit of an artificial strawberry flavour and smell because it's quite sweet but you still get that divinely lovely strawberry smell that is good enough to eat. I actually have to stop myself from licking my lips. When it comes time to remove the mask you do need a bit of water to really make sure you get all thr bits on the edge of your face off but it doesn't take too long to dissolve it all.
What I love about this mask in particular is the lovely soft feeling it gives to my face. Its really touchably soft and smooth and has a nice glow to it. I don't really think this mask does much deep cleaning or healing like some face masks can do but in terms of making my skin soft its a winner and I like using it from time to time.
Boots Naturals Wild Strawberry Face Mask
I love anything strawberry flavoured, be it food, drinks or beauty products. I was roaming around Boots and saw this wild strawberry face mask on the shelf and couldn't resist. I am not a regular face mask user but try and do one every couple of months being as they are meant to be beneficial to your skin.
The face mask comes in a single plastic sealed sachet, this has a pale pink background with a face painted on the front. The face has the face mask plastered on and there are cute little strawberries painted onto this. This is from the Boots Natural Collection range and costs £1 for a 10 ml sachet which is intended for a single use.
To use the face mask you tear open the sachet, there is a small slit in the top of the packet, but I find it is easier and less messy to just cut across the top. You obviously apply this face mask to clean and dry skin so I make sure that all of my make-up is removed and most often put these on when I am having a bath so that I can leave it on for a while without worrying about touching it.
The face mask cream itself is made up of a light coloured pink clayey substance. It is very smooth and silky feeling and smells amazing of lovely summer wild strawberries, nice and sweet and fragrant. The instructions state that you should apply this evenly over your entire face, making sure that you avoid contact with your eyes and mouth and leave it on for around twenty minutes. I tend to leave mine on for longer than this just to get the full benefits (and my money's worth!).
The face mask feels smooth and cooling on my skin and it left my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. You can smell the lovely strawberries whilst it is working its magic on your face. The ingredients include the wild strawberry which is meant to help smooth and soften your skin and the clay draws out any impurities and excess oil. To remove the mask you simply wash it off completely and this is very easy and hassle free. The results are good, my skin does feel enriched and smooth after using this, but I have used better face masks. The bonus with this is the lovely smells you get whilst wearing it!
Overall I probably won't be buying this face mask too often, it was pleasant enough and left my skin feeling nice but I think there are better quality face masks on the market. This is only available in Boots and costs £1 which is quite good for a refreshing and fruity face mask.
I've been a little stressed lately with uni work, so I picked up this Boots Natural Collection Wild Strawberry face mask last weekend as a little bit of a treat for myself. This cost 99p for the sachet, which holds enough for a single use.
The pouch has a picture of a lady wearing a mask on the front, and the back contains an ingredients listing and instructions for use. There is a small indentation in the side of the pouch to allow for easy opening, and indeed a did find the pouch easy to open.
The minute I did I was hit by a strong strawberry smell, although sadly I found it overly sweet and rather artificial, the sort of scent that might appeal to young girls but just isn't natural and fresh enough for me. It wasn't unpleasant though, and it certainly didn't put me off applying the mask anyway, which was very simple - just a case of using your hands to smooth it over your face (and neck) area, and avoiding the lips and eyes. I was very surprised by the colour and consistency of the mask - I'd expected it to be pink, but it was more of a clay colour, and was rather runnier and gloopier than I had expected, but still easy enough to apply without mess.
You then need to leave it for 20 minutes, and then wash it off, which was easy. Now, I personally don't think this had any lasting effect on my skin - it was slightly softer immediately after rinsing the mask off, but after a couple of hours I couldn't detect the difference any more. However, I would say that the 20 minutes peace and quiet I enjoyed whilst lying down with this on, with the mask acting as a visible deterrent to those who might interrupt my me-time, made it worth the 99p spend.
I don't think I would buy this particular scent again, but I have already purchased a few other masks in the Natural Collection to try, and I already had another little pamper session yesterday.
All in all - it was pleasant and enabled me to relax, smelt ok but a bit artificial, and neither harmed nor helped my skin. Whilst I really valued that peace and quiet, the performance of the product itself was only average, so only 3 stars.
My soon to be mother in law bought me a lovely gift box from Boots for the Christmas just passed. I love anything bath/ shower related so she did well to pick me a Boots Natural Collection strawberry set. One of the products inside the set was a Wild Strawberry Face Mask. These are also available to buy individually from either Boots stores or online. For a 10ml packet, it will cost £1.
The Natural Collection range has quite simple packaging and this product is no exception. The face mask comes in a thin, pink sachet. On the front of the sachet is the Boots logo, product name as well as a picture of a woman with the mask on her face (although her face also has actual strawberries on as well). The packet is nice looking and also very girly. Because of the way the packet looks, I think this will do well with younger girls and would be perfect for a sleepover.
The sachet opens easily, with a slight cut taken out one of the sides. This is where you can tear the sachet open to reveal the face mask. However, I would say that if you wanted to use this while in the bath, it would be a bit trickier to open the sachet with wet hands. Inside the sachet is a thick, light pink cream which is easily squeezed out. You can faintly smell strawberries as you open the sachet but the scent doesn't hit you immediately and it isn't too strong either.
Boots recommend that you apply the face mask to areas excluding the eyes and mouth and then leave it on for 20 minutes. After putting on the mask, covering near enough my whole face, I waited for it to set. However, unlike other face masks I have used in the past, this one didn't dry up like I was expecting it to. Yes, my face got a little bit tight but nothing close to what I was expecting. Even after the 20 minutes, the face mask was still slightly wet. Removal is super easy and all you need to do is rinse off with a flannel then dry your face as normal.
While this face mask didn't do amazing things for my skin, it did leave me feeling refreshed and smooth. I really liked the smell and it didn't dry my skin out which was good. For £1, this is a good face mask but I dare say that there are better out there for the same price.
Despite not having enough hours in the day to do what I want to do already, I always make sure I take time out for myself once a week. This 'me time' is my chance to escape from everything so like to enjoy it as much as I can and face masks are a good way of doing this. I've recently been trying Boots own brand range instead of named brands to see how well they would work.
This wild strawberry version of Boots face mask will set you back £1 and of course can only be purchased from Boots either in your local store or online at boots.com but delivery charges will apply.
The face mask comes inside a small plastic like sachet with a cartoon like picture of a lady wearing a face mask covered in strawberries to signify the strawberry properties in the face mask. To open the packaging there is a small dent near the top, the sort you get on ketchup sachets, so you can just pull the top of the packaging across.
Once open you can smell a fruity smell, it isn't as nice as I imagined a Boots natural collection face mask to smell like as it didn't smell natural at all, if anything it was more of an artificial smell than anything else. The face mask can be squeezed out of the packaging quite easily due to the runny consistency is has, this runniness means that it is quite hard to get a nice coverage on my face without making a mess everywhere, my bathroom had definitely seen better days when I used it.
After the face mask has been applied I left it to harden for the five minutes advised on the packaging. I have no complaints about the experience of the face mask hardening, it does feel tight around my face but nothing uncomfortable. However, it isn't as relaxing as some other face masks I've used. Once the five minutes are up the face mask isn't as hard as it could be but I remove it anyway and the process is quite easy by using warm water.
Once the face mask is washed off it leaves the skin smooth to the touch but it does feel a little tight. After moisturising my face feels smooth, soft and refreshed and for this reason I would recommend the wild strawberries face mask from Boots. I do think it could be improved though by making the strawberry scent a little more natural and making the consistency a little thicker so application is easier.
On my last visit to Boots to spend some luncheon vouchers which I acquired from Pinecone Research, I bought two Natural collection wild strawberry face masks to round up my voucher total - at 99p each they are the general price you pay for many own brand face masks.
I love face masks and generally have at least one every couple of weeks at night time during my bubble bath to wind down for the night - I don't tend to stick to one brand and I have found they all have their own pro's and con's and I just generally like trying out new products!
I used my first face pack a couple of weeks ago and I am using my final one this very second whilst writing this - and I will give you feedback on what I thought of them on the first occasion and now.
The packet in which the face pack is sold in is quite small in comparison to other brands and the design is quite simple but effective. On the front you have the image of a face wearing a bright luminious pink face pack - the background of the packet is baby pink in colour and it gives you the product details near the bottom.
The back label tells you that the product is good enough to eat - I don't feel it is and I normally say this about a lot of things! As pleasant as the smell of the pack is (if it smelled horrible enough I wouldn't bother and just throw it in the bin!) , it smells like very artifical strawberrys - so if you are after a very naturally smelling strawberry face pack you should look elsewhere...
Another thing that hacks me off on the back of the packet is the next statement - That this soothing facemask contains wild strawberrys to help smooth and soften your skin - I do find Fragaria verca extract listed in the ingredients but the others all look like perfumed chemicals - which to me isn't very good since it comes from Boots Natural range, it isn't very natural is it?
Other information on the back includes application instructions and the chemical ingredients... I would also like to point out that the product has a total of 24 months shelf life (which is about the only good thing that comes from the preservative chemical ingredients).
On to the actual face pack mixture as previously mentioned above before application it smells very artificial rather than natural and yummy. This is where it loses points for me. Another thing I hate is the consistancy of the mixture - it is a clay/grey colour and its very runny in comparrison to other face packs I have tried in the past - and caused a lot of mess all over my bedroom floor. As a result of the runny consistancy it doesn't stay on your face very well and as a result of not being able to put the mixture on your face property it feels you have way too much mixture to use in one pack to use in one go - If you ever feel the need to try this pack out with a friend it may be an idea to split the face pack between the two of you.
The face occasion I used the first pack a couple of weeks ago I had to take it off literally 1 minute after application due to the sheer fact it seemed to be burning my skin off, and it was literally a burning sensation rather than my skin tightening up! I was not happy with this at all, I looked on DooYoo to see if others had experianced the same thing but all it seems to have is good feedback from others to my dissapointment... I did start to think at first I had some some of bad reaction to an ingredient in the pack but I wasn't left with irritated or blotchy skin after I washed it off. I decided to keep the second pack rather than throw it away and use it on another occasion.
I have just washed away the second face pack that I have used today as I am attending a christening later and wanted to give myself a little treat before hand and end up with a fresher face - I decided to give the second pack a go and see if the results were anything different to the next time. The packaging states leave it on for 5 minutes and wash off but I like to leave my packs on a little longer to harden as I find nothing worse than trying to wash sludgy face pack off your face! After you get over the sheer burning that i experianced the first occasion you do feel your skin tighten under the mask and when its washed off you do feel a lot more freshed faced than before - which no bad skin caused by the burning... I just suspect one of the ingredients didn't agree with me!
In all area's of improvement needed for this to recieve a higher score would be to make it smell nicer - its too artificial at the moment... And thicken up the mixture - its too runny at the moment and causes big mess! And lastly - if they can do anything to sort out whatever caused the burning to my face, then I would look at buying it again... But whilst it has its problems I will not be going near this particular pack again!
At the time of writing you can buy this pack and other varietys from Boots for 99p.
I bought this face mask from Boots for 99p.
They were on a 3 for 2 offer with the rest of the Natural Collection range.
The mask is easy to use. Simply cut open the sachet and apply the mask to your face using your fingertips.
The mask is clay coloured and it smells sweet. It does have a strawberry scent to it but it does smell a bit synthetic. The mask spreads well onto the face and it dries pretty quickly. After around five minutes it starts to dry and after around ten minutes it becomes crusty so try to wash it off somewhere in between that amount of time. The mask rinses off easily and it leaves you with a subtle scent of strawberry on your face after use.
After using this face mask my face feels soft, smooth and cleansed. My face also looks radiant and glowing, although the effect is only short lived. I wish the effects of this face mask were longer lasting but I guess it's not bad for the 99p price tag. Plus you get a decent amount of product in the sachet so I can coer my neck in the mask aswell.
This is an ideal face mask for a girl's night in and it's ideal to place inside a party bag. I would rather pay more for a more natural face mask (i.e Lush) but this isn't bad for the price.
The boots natural collection strawberry facial mask is great for many different skin types, not only does it smell great but its very gentle on your skin and soothing. When the face mask dries before you wash it off it doesn't make your skin feel tight, its also very fast in drying taking roughly 5 minutes wear as other facial masks can take up to 15 mins to dry. The product is easy to wash off with warm water and once you have patted your face dry your skin looks and feels so clean, it really does make a difference, i think this product is great as most people can use it, its gentle, smells good and its really cheap at 99p, boots often do deals on this product too meaning more for your money! Also the product provides you with 2 face masks for 99p!
If your looking for a face mask that smells nice, is gentle, cheap and will make you skin feel clean and soft then this product is for you. Thanks for reading!
Natural Collection wild strawberry face mask
Little Miss really likes using face masks at the moment so we have recently bought several different kinds. This one was chosen because of the promise of the strawberries and seeming good enough to eat.
The blurb on the back of the packet tells me this can help me achieve perfect looking skin.
This mask apparently contains wild strawberry to help smooth and soften skin, and natural clay to draw out impurities or excess oil. My face will then be smoother and brighter and "good enough to eat".
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The face mask is packaged in a small plastic coated sachet containing 10ml of the face mask. The design on the front is quite appealing in a pink strawberry kind of way, showing a face coloured pink and with strawberries on it. On the back of the packet are all of the instructions and information about the face mask.
To open it, there is a small nick on the sachet which has to be pulled to open the packet. This is done more easily than on some packets I have used and at least it tore right to the other side, so that I was able to squeeze the face mask out easily.
The face mask itself is light pink in colour and has a very smooth texture, with a faint smell of strawberry, which is very pleasant. It is easy to apply to dry cleansed skin and feels quite soothing. I leave it for the advised 5 minutes and whilst it feels as though it dries slightly, it is still smooth to the touch and washes off easily with warm water.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
This costs £1.01 and is available from Boots the chemist instore and also online at www.boots.com. It is good value as Little Miss and myself find that one sachet is sufficient for both of us, and that's with a good layer of the face mask applied to the skin
The face pack leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed and not tight at all but rather quite moisturised and soft. It is easy to remove and neither one of us have had any adverse effects on our skin.
A good value face mask for anyone who likes to apply face masks for an extra bit of cleansing.
Thanks for reading
I use the odd Face mask now and again and although I have full sized tubes of it, there is a lot of little Sachets that I like to use to try different ones. At least if it is a simgle use one and you don't like it then it's all finished after that 1 go.
This comes in a little sachet. Just a thin plastic pouch thing which you can easily rip the corner off this and squeeze the Mask out. The picture on the front of this looks ok and is colourful enough. The sachet is also small enough to just pop in your bag (or pocket if you feel the need to carry this around in your jacket!)
I picked this up for £1 in Boots. Not sure if you can buy this in a full sized tube, but there was quite a few little sachets on the shelf of different onces.
When you open this sachet you get the immediate whiff of Strawberry. This smells nice and creamy, and a nice fresh fruity smell> It does smell like real Strawberries but there is a sweet smell to this too. Smells nice enough though.
This is a medium thickness mask and is easy enough to smooth over your face. It doesn't drip and just sits there ok. The smell is lovely when it is on. It's not an overly strong smell, but a slight Strawberry hint
This Mask does dry a little bit after you have left this on the recommended 20 minutes. It doesn't really go stiff, but it just firms up a little bit, and when you go to rinse this off then this washes off easy enough. It leaves your face feeling nice and soft, and I was worried if this would dry my cheeks out a bit, but although there was a slight initial tighness, this wore off when I patted my skin a bit more.
I wouldn't say that this totally transformed my face in any way. It seemed to cleanse my face alright, it didn't irritate my skin or make my face any more red or blotchy, and the smell was nice enough.
A worthwhile try for £1.
During Dooyoo downtime I have accumulated a number of different items some that I have recently bought and others that I've had for a while! One of the items I have had for a while, but only recently used, is the Boots Naturals Wild Strawberry Face Mask. I came across the face mask when I was clearing out my old flat and decided it must have been a face mask left over from a previous girly night in.
The face mask comes in a flimsy, plastic coated packet which is about 6cm by 4cm so really quite small and compact. There is an image of a cartoon lady with the face mask covering most of her face and then the name of the product at the bottom. To open the face mask you simply cut or tear along the top of the packet which can be done with minimal effort.
The contents of the packet are somewhat surprising. With the description being 'strawberry' I initially thought the face mask would be pink or red in colour but it's actually a dull grey/off-white colour. The texture is very smooth and is the same substance as most moisturisers or suntan lotion.
To apply the face mask I used two fingers to spread the mixture around my face avoiding the eyes. I actually applied it whilst I was in the bath for added relaxation. Applying the face mask was very easy and relatively tidy as, like I said, I applied whilst in the bath. I made sure to avoid my eyes and the face mask didn't cause any irritation to my sensitive skin.
The face mask did smell faintly of strawberry but the smell isn't overwhelming. Overall, the smell is pleasant but I expected it to be a bit more prominent.
I left the face mask on for around 20 minutes, it was very cold so it was very refreshing it is also very soft on the skin. When I took the mask off it was, again relatively easy and there wasn't much mess. Afterwards my skin did feel softer but other than that there were no other noticeable effects, my skin didn't feel moisturised as this product promised.
To summarise, the texture and smell and fine but nothing more than that. Once on the face mask does feel refreshing and relaxing but once it's off there are relatively little advantages to using the product.
From Boots the face mask is £1.01 which sounds like a great price for a face mask but with no major advantages I would steer clear from this in future and opt for a more expensive product in future.
Today I'll review the Wild Strawberry face mask by Boots out of their Naturals Collection.
The last time I was in London, I was again looking for interesting products to try out that we don't have over here in Germany. I've tried out a body spray by Boots Naturals before and really liked it, so I was quite interested in buying another product from that brand.
I then discovered the Wild Strawberry mask. It looked nice and I really like strawberry-scented products, so I simply got it.
I suppose my good experiences with Boots' own stuff were my appeal for buying.
The mask comes in a little pink sachet which shows a drawing of a woman wearing a face mask made of strawberries and little hearts. The drawing is quite simple but looks rather cute!
You also get the Boots logo and below the picture you see "Natural Collection - Wild Strawbery - FACE MASK" written in white and pink in a black stripe.
On the back of the sachet there is a text explaining the benefits of the mask. It contains natural clay and is supposed to smell like it's good enough to eat. It is supposed to make the skin smooth and suft, drawing out impurities at the same time.
Information on how you use the mask and what the ingredients are is also given!
How to use it
Using the mask is very simple. You open the sachet and empty the contents into your hand. You then smooth the creamy mask onto you facial skin, but leave out the eyes and the lips. You can also put some on your neck.
I thought the mask would be clear and pink, but it's actually clay-coloured and not to creamy, but at the same time easy to spread. It was slightly cooling, which I really liked.
The mask subtly smells of strawberry, but the scent is not too strong and doesn't come across as artificial! I liked it.
Effect on skin
The mask defenitely makes the skin softer and it is less oily after use. But it didn't help much against spots or impurities. I still believe the mask is somewhat good for your skin - mine felt calmed down and more "relaxed". It's simply good care you can pamper your skin with once in a while. It's hasn't become my favourite mask now as the effect on my skin wasn't remarkable enough.
Washing it off
Washing it off was quick and easy!
My skin was absolutely fine with it, there were nor irritations or burning sensations. Allergic people should read the list of ingredients before buying, of course.
Aqua, Kaolin, Glycerin, Hydroyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Polysorbate 20, Dipropylene glycol, Parfum, Methylparaben, Tetrasodium pyrophosphate, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Proyplene glycol, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Fragaria vesca extract, Denatonium benzoate, Benzoic acid.
This mask was only 99p and is available at Boots and can also be ordered Boots.co.uk.
I enjoyed this mask, but it hasn't become my favourite as it hasn't really done any miracle works on me. I still reckon the best masks are by Montagne Jeunesse, but this one was still nice. If you just looking for a quick mask to relax and make you skin a bit less oily and more relaxed, this one is for you!
