Advantages: makes light work of eye make up
Disadvantages: not cheap, I don't use it every night
I usually save my Boots advantage card points for a treat for myself in the post Christmas sales but when the No 7 hat box came up as an offer of the week and half price I decided to treat myself to it as I wanted to get myself in to a good skin care routine. One of the items in the box was No 7 cleanse and care eye make up remover.
The product comes in a clear bottle with a tall lid. Through the bottle you can see the blue liquid of the eye make up remover which is something that I like as you can always see how much you have left and so hopefully not run out. The bottle features a simple black and gold lettering which really compliment each other and serve the purpose of making the product look quite expensive I think. The bottle tells us that this hypo allergenic eye make up remover will "wipe away every trace of make up even waterproof mascara" and that it is fragrance free and even suitable for sensitive eyes.
Now I will hold my hands up and say that I can be quite lazy when it comes to taking my make up off properly because I find that as a busy single mum reaching for a wipe is much easier than the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise malarkey! This said I am becoming increasingly aware of my skin and in particular damage around my eye area and so I do try and not always use wipes these days. The No 7 cleanse and care eye make up remover offered me a different option.
When you take off the lid from the bottle you will reveal a pump through which the liquid is dispensed. I do think this is quite a good idea to avoid spillages and wastage of the product but you do need to press the pump a few times you get a decent amount of the product on to your cotton wool ball. I have found that you do need more than one pump on the cotton wool for it to work effectively.
Once you have some cleanse and care eye make up remover on your cotton wool ball you simply need to wipe it over your eye, gently wiping as you go. Now I have to say I do wear a lot of eye make up with eye liner featuring at least half of the week and eye shadow and mascara every day and so I was dubious how the product would work. I was so surprised when I discovered that it made pretty light work of my eye make up without me having to drag at my eyes as it just seemed to lift it quite easily. The product does feel ever so slightly greasy on the eyes but in comparison to some others I have tried I can confirm that this is one of the lesser ones and yet it is high performing and so one I would be happy to keep on using.
A 100ml of No 7 cleanse and care eye make up remover costs £7.75 from Boots and this is my only real issue with the product because you only have six months in which to use the bottle and as I do still use wipes sometimes I can see that I will end up with a lot of wastage. Should you think you would use this product every night though I can recommend it as a gentle yet very effective eye make up remover.
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: A good product if you are likely to use it very regularly
