As some of you already know I received a big box of No 7 goodies at Xmas and have been trying them all out. This exfoliator was one of the first things I wanted to try.

At 35 (rapidly hurtling to 36) I often feel my complexion could do with some refreshing. I find exfoliating is a quick and easy way to accomplish this and have a variety of different types in the bathroom. Usually I end up with the ones with the large gritty bits in them but this No 7 Radiance Revealed is very different.

Firstly mine is a 15ml tube as it's part of a gift set. Normally it's sold in 75ml size tubes for £7.59 from Boots but as usual you could probably pick it up cheaper on ebay. The tube is clear so I can see the light blue cream inside and mine has a nozzle like a serum covered by a plastic screw cap but I don't know about the full size version.

The exfoliating cream is quite thick, fragrance free and hypo-allergenic. I thought it had a slight fragrance to be honest, even though I'm told it's fragrance free I can smell a kind of hand cream scent coming from it. The exfoliating particles are extremely fine, they feel like salt grains but are very gentle.

The base is, as I said before, light blue and quite thick and suprisingly very moisturising. I often find the bases of exfoliators don't do anything except carry the grit but in this case it really helps.

So onto the test. With the versions that have large particles in them I find you have use plenty so initially I squeezed out a 50p size blob of this and got to work. The skin needs to be clean and damp and the exfoliator is applied by using circular motions to take off all those dead skin cells. I soon realised the particles in this were very fine and that was too much to use so on subsequent occasions I have reduced it to a 20p size blob which is sufficient.

As I rubbed it over my skin I could feel the fine exfoliating particles but they are not sharp and it's very gentle. I then rinsed it off, this took several splashes with warm water as the particles tend to stick to the skin, and had a look in the mirror.

My skin looked very fresh and noticeably brighter. My pores aren't really open anyway but this did refine them further and when I felt my skin after drying it was soft too. This seems to moisturise at the same time.

Very impressed I left it in the bathroom so I could use it again later in the week. I exfoliate my face about 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin looks and feels. I've used it this amount for the last few weeks and still have plenty left so I imagine the full size version would last a few months.

I also have dry skin that's prone to troublesome flaky patches and redness and this didn't irritate at all, it's very mild but effective so suitable for all skin types.

Overall I'm very impressed, it leaves skin soft and fresh and free of flaky bits but without any harshness. I'll definitely be buying more of this when the time comes and recommend it to anyone who likes to exfoliate regularly but doesn't like their skin drying out.

Summary: Highly recommended
