“ Brand: Boots / Type: Face Care / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / Product line: Boots No7 „
Last time I went to Boots to stock up on a few bits and bobs I needed, I remembered that I still had a £5 No 7 voucher in my purse. I usually forget to use these before they expire, so I took this opportunity to scout round the No 7 counter and see what I could get with my voucher that wouldn't result in me having to contribute too much to the overall price.
I'm not sure if this product is new, or if they are just plugging it at the moment because of the time of year, but it was positioned on a stand on its own with a tester. I have very dry skin, especially in winter, and my hands, face and arms are all affected. This skin rescuer claims to be an all-round solution for dry skin, and can be used anywhere on the body. It brings instant relief to dry patches of skin.
I tried this in the shop and just used it as a handcream. I'm quite particular about handcreams as I hate having anything that feels greasy on my hands, especially now I have an engagement ring which I'm quite precious about and can't stand the thought of it getting clogged up with "gunk" from handcreams etc. This cream feels light and absorbs almost instantly, but you're aware of almost a film of moisture on your hands, it's not greasy, but you can feel it providing immediate relief.
This cream isn't cheap, it costs £11 for a 50ml tube. Obviously if you have the £5 No 7 voucher this brings the price down to £6, which although is still quite expensive for the size of the tube, I think it's worth the money because rather than being something you'll apply constantly and use quickly, this is so effective I only use it once or twice a day and it keeps my skin soft for hours, so I am expecting the tube will last a while.
The description of this product on the packaging claims the following:
"The cream contains nourishing shea and cocoa butters and is enriched with skin loving vitamins and minerals to provide an instant and lasting moisture hit to relieve, soothe and visibly improve dry patches on your face, hands and body"
It recommends using it in the morning and evening, or throughout the day if your skin needs it. My skin gets very dry but I've only had to use this twice a day at most. I have used it mainly for my hands, but also on my elbows and heels, and a couple of dry patches I've had on my legs. You only need a little cream and it provides instant moisture. It's not greasy so you can use it and carry on with your daily tasks.
I haven't tried using this on my face yet as my moisturiser seems to be managing with the cold weather at the moment, but it is hypoallergenic and as such should be suitable for the face. Personally, I'm not sure whether it might be a little too thick to use on my face so I might just stick to using it on my hands and body. I think this is probably personal preference though because I'm just not a fan of thick face creams as I have sensitive skin on my face which can go blotchy if I use the wrong products. Because of this, I tend to stick with products I know my skin won't react to.
The cream comes in a very classy looking small white tube with a flip lid. This cream is white in colour, and smells clean and fresh. The smell reminds me of a very subtle version of cocoa butter, it's not overwhelming or too strong, but you do notice a faint smell which is very pleasant. It feels silky smooth when you're applying it, and I'm very impressed with how long the results last for. Despite the price, I'm still giving this five stars as it is a skin saviour.
