WHAT IS IT?
This is an anti ageing cleanser from No. 7.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You pump some of the balm on your fingertips and cleanse your face using circle motions on your skin. It is thick and a little bit greasy but it spreads easy on my skin and then when I have cleansed I rinse it off with cool water by splashing and rubbing on my face with the plain water.
DOES IT WORK?
I think this is very good at cleansing my skin but I think the texture is a little bit too strong for my skin because if I use it every day I get some small spots that appear on my face. I am ok to use it sometimes but that is only once or 2 times a week and other times I use a different cleanser.
WHAT I THINK
I think my skin feels beautiful and clean after I have used this cleansing balm but I will not buy it again because of how it makes my skin feel after. My skin feels greasy after I have used it but it does not look greasy so that is good, I do not like the feel of my skin for a long time after I have used the cleanser so I use it only at night before I go to be because I am afraid that it is going to make my face shiny even though it never has.
It smells nice and has got a creamy smell that I like very much. I like how moisturising this balm is and I think that is what would help it to be an anti ageing product, I do not have to use moisturiser straight after I have washed and that is good because my skin gets very dry sometimes. I think that is why this has got such a greasy feel so that is explained but I still do not like it.
This cleanser is hypoallergenic so anyone can use it without them having a bad reaction to the thick balm. I do have a bit of a reaction sometimes but that is only because I think it is a very richer cleanser than I am used to and it is to much for my skin so it causes small breakouts.
I have used only a small travel size bottle of cleansing balm and I will not buy the full size one, mine came with a selection of No 7 products free when I bought something else from their range. The full size is 150ml and that costs £9.50. Even though I don't like it I still think it is value because my little bottle has lasted for long so I think the big one would not end!
3 Dooyoo Stars.
Boots no 7 age defence cleansing balm
I bought this on a recent trip to replenish my beauty regime products, and knowing that No 7 products tend to agree with my skin, I thought it would be good. The product is hypo allergenic and has apparently been tested on users with 75% agreeing their skin looked brighter and healthier after use- they don't say how long they used the product and I would love to know who tests because they never ask me!!
This promises to be specially formulated to revive dull lifeless skin and to remove all traces of make up as well as revealing brighter healthy looking skin.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The cleanser comes in a box and when I open up the box, inside is the plastic bottle with the name of the product on the front and instructions on the back. I unscrew the top and the cleanser itself is white and creamy with no discernible smell.
I apply it to my wet skin and the product is easily massaged into my skin. I tend to use a wet tissue to remove the cleanser and all of the make up and grime, and this seems to work well for me. The cleanser feels nice and moisturising and after removing it, my skin doesn't feel at all dried out and there is no tightness or redness.
HOW TO USE IT...
The product can be used every day, and there is no suggestion that there is no suggestion as to what type of skin it is suitable for so I assume it is suitable for all skin types.
To use the product, apply a small amount of the cleanser to the face with fingertips and wipe or wash off with water. Avoid contact with eyes and rinse if it gets into your eyes because it does sting.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
Costing £8.50 for 200ml this is available instore and online at www.boots.com
The cleanser is reasonably priced and for me works well. It doesn't dry out my skin and after using it, my skin feels cleansed refreshed and moisturised, although not enough to give up on my normal moisturising regime.
I find that I get a better cleanse if I wipe it off with a tissue as this seems to remove all of the last traces of make up and grime, whereas if i use just water I feel that my face isn't so clean.
It's gentle on the skin and a good every day cleansing product for all skin types.
Thanks for reading.
I bought this cleanser with the £5 No7 voucher and am so glad I did. What a fab cleanser, I love it. It comes in a large white plastic bottle, with a pump dispenser. The instructions say to use fingers to gently massage over your face in an upward motion, before washing off with water. The cream feels a little oily so spreads easily and only one squirt is required to do the whole face. I find that I only need to gently rub my fingers over my eyes to loosen all makeup (please note, looking at the mirror at this point may cause alarm as the makeup appears just smeared all over your face!!), then wash off with cold water. I experienced no stinging in my eyes with this cleanser, I find that most others I have tried tend to make them sting and go very red. My face felt very fresh afterwards and not a trace of makeup could be found with the toner I used afterwards (normally find at least some traces after using my old cleanser). I love the ease of this product and the fact you dont need to use cotton wool with it either. I would highly recommend this cleanser, I am definitely a No7 convert and have been making the most of the £5 vouchers to make sure I have a nice stash to last me until the next set of vouchers come out :)
