I like using face wipes because it is really quick and easy, I find them a lot more practical than using creams and lotions although I'm not convinced that they are quite as good for your skin but nevertheless I tend to use wipes more and I like the effect they have.
I have quite sensitive skin so always purchase sensitive products where I can so I was glad to see that Boots had this option.
They come in a packet a bit like you would expect for wipes. They open at the top through a peel back strip which sticks back down and is really sticky so even when you get down to using your last few it will still stick back.
The wipes pull out one at a time although sometimes two do come out at once. The wipe is very moist so you are able to remove make up with them quite well. I find if I have a full face of make up then I require two but if I've just got abit of eye make up on then once is sufficient.
The wipes feel refreshing on my face as they're cooling and very soft. I don't need to apply much pressure to remove make up and afterwards my face isn't red or anything.
They are so easy to use and take a matter of seconds so they are very practical for me. They're so useful to just put in my bag to help refresh my face or remove make up when I am out and about. Highly recommend.
WHAT IS IT?
These are face wipes that are made by Boots. There are 25 in each packet and they are for leoe who have got sensitive skin.
WHY DID I BUY THEM?
I have not got sensitive skin and I bought these only because I wanted some face wipes and these was the cheapest. I do not use face wipes very often and do not care what brand I buy.
WHAT I THINK
I have not been very happy with these face wipes and I do not think they work very good. They have got a very pleasing fresh smell because there is aloe vera in the wipes and that is a good ingredient if you have got sensitive skin because it is soothing.
The wipes are wet enough to cleanse but the sealing strip on the packet is very poor so if you do not use them quick the top ones will dry up and that is a waste.
I think they are good only for wiping your face if you need your skin to be refreshed because these wipes do not remove make up and I think if my skin was dirty a wipe out of this packet would not make it clean.
I think they make me feel fresh but I did not but them for that and I wanted for them to cleanse my skin but they are not very good at doing that.
The wipes are small and not very thick so sometimes I have used 2 at a time so I have not saved any money by buying these after all I do not think. They do not get a hole in them while I am using them and I am happy about that.
A packet that has got 25 wipes in it costs £1.39 and they are gentle for sensitive skin but I think they are not effective enough so are not worth the cost.
3 Dooyoo Hearts.
Recently, I have made a bit of a vow not to purchase any more cosmetics and toiletries until I have used up what I already have; I have a huge stockpile of assorted creams, lotions and potions at home, and whilst I like trying out new products, I can't really justify the purchase of any new items when I have so many waiting to be used up at home.
Among the huge selection of assorted bottles and jars, I unearthed several items from the Boots own-branded "Simply Sensitive" range of skincare products, with this review outlining my experiences of using the "Boots Simply Sensitive Face Wipes."
The product is only available from Boots, where you can purchase online at www.boots.com, though postage costs normally apply. The pack containing 25 individual face wipes usually costs £2.79, but I paid a little less than this, taking advantage of an in-store promotion at the time of purchase.
The packaging is fairly basic, but is attractive enough and more than fit for purpose. Comprising of a square-shaped package made of plastic, there is an attractive green and white design over the pack which offers a little attractive detail. The pack's closure comprises of a sticky label closure, and I have found that this is quite well-made, with it keeping its adhesive throughout the time the product has been used. This has allowed the pack of Simply Sensitive Wipes to be sealed sufficiently between uses, so the wipes contained within have never become dried out or useless, which is a significant fault I have encountered with rival products I've used before.
The packaging boasts several claims, which are:
* No fragrance. No colour.
* Dermatologically Tested.
All of these claims did catch my eye and offer a little reassurance at the time of purchase, as I have extremely sensitive skin that will 'flare' aggressively if harsh products are used, and I do therefore make quite a big effort to use kind, gentle products on my skin. I did feel that this product sounded suitable for my own skin type.
The cloths are easily removed from their plastic pack, by pulling out from the opening on the front; annoyingly, there has been the odd occasion where more than one wipe has escaped through the opening which IS a pest, but not the end of the world. The wipes are moist to the touch, but not overly 'wet' which is my preference; I've purchased wipes before that have been almost 'wringing' wet, and I've found these have felt horrid and extremely harsh on my delicate skin. The Boots Simply Sensitive Wipes, in comparison, feel much more gentle than this.
I had rather hoped that these wipes would be Boots' own version of the 'Simple' range of toiletries and skincare cosmetics that is widely available in good drugstores and chemists; the 'Simple' range of skincare products seems rather well suited to my own skin type, and I had hoped that the Boots Simply Sensitive range would be a suitable substitute as the range is often subject to various promotions and is quite a bit cheaper than its 'Simple' competitors.
Alas, no, the Boots range is slightly inferior as far as I can tell from my experiences of using perhaps four or five different products from the range.
The Simply Sensitive Wipes, for example, don't feel as soft or as luxurious as the Simple version, although it wouldn't be fair for me to describe them as being harsh or rough in their texture or materials; they smooth over the skin nicely, without feeling rough on the skin's surface, and even when used around the delicate eye area they feel completely gentle. I also like that they don't 'rub' or drag on the skin.
In addition, I do find the Boots Wipes have an ever-so-faint 'whiff' of an aroma to them, which surprised me given their "No Fragrance" claim on the front of the pack. This faint scent is subtle and is not unpleasant, but it is my preference to use unscented wipes on my face so I wasn't particularly fond of this aspect of the wipes. Thankfully, I find that the scent doesn't linger.
The Boots Simply Sensitive Wipes seem to be of a suitable quality; they do not leave any trace of greasiness or residue behind on the skin after use. In addition, I find that they are effective in cleansing the skin, and they work well at removing make-up and eye make-up. A point to note here, however, is that I do occasionally find it necessary to use a second Boots wipe to remove all traces of make-up at the eye area; to be fair, this is not always necessary, and it does seem to depend on the shades and products worn at the time. There are many other brands of wipes that I purchase regularly that seem to be a bit more effective than the Boots Simply Sensitive ones, however, and I was a bit surprised at this result.
The Boots Sensitive Wipes are formulated with "Soothing Aloe Vera" and I do quite like using products that contain this helpful ingredient, as I find that said products are often particularly suited to my sensitive skin type. As anticipated, I encountered nothing in the way of irritation or aggravation to my sensitive skin type, and I found too that the Boots Wipes felt delicate and gentle when used around the delicate eye area. Taking these results into account, I do recommend the product as being suitable for those consumers who, like me, suffer with sensitive skin issues.
Taking everything into account, I feel that the Boots Simply Sensitive Face Wipes are a fairly worthwhile purchase, although I couldn't claim that they were the best wipes I had ever used, particularly as I found there were some occasions where I had to use more than one wipe at a time to achieve a good result. I would buy them again, but probably only as a substitute for a more superior item, should it be unavailable, or perhaps if there was a fantastic offer on. On this occasion, I feel that three stars in the product rating score is more than fair.
I tend to wear make up (concealer, foundation, blusher, eyeliner and mascara)pretty much everyday and working long days (I have two jobs, one which I work until 11-12pm most nights) so I'm always tired when I come home, which means that I am usually too tired to take my make up off before bed. However when I spotted these Simply Sensitive wipes in Boots for just £2 I decided to give them a go.
These wipes are for sensitive skin and that is one of the reasons which made these wipes stand out to me as I have sensitive skin. A lot of 'sensitive skin' products I find, are not actually sensitive to my sensitive skin and so they usually still irritate me so I was half expecting these wipes to be the same. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that these wipes do not irritate my skin at all. In fact they are very gentle on my skin and don't make my skin tingle or sting which is great.
The wipes are nice and easy to use. Simply pull one out of the pack (sometimes I need 2, especially if I have been on a night out and have been wearing more make up than usual - but generally one wipe is enough for me and my everyday make up). It takes off my make up easily and gently - I don't have to do any rubbing. Even the stubborn mascara comes off easily. My skin is then left feeling fresh and clean.
Another good thing is that these wipes come in a resealable pack - unlike cheaper brands, these wipes don't dry out which is great as there is nothing worse than getting to the bottom of a pack and finding that the wipes have dried out.
I will definitely be buying them again!
Thanks for reading!
I bought these a couple of months ago, as while my skin isn't sensitive, my eyes can be sensitive to some cleansers. I don't often wear make up, but do like the handiness of wipes for removing makeup when I do wear it. These were on offer in Boots so I bought them to try them. The normal price of these wipes are £2.79 .
They are in a green packet, and they are resealable to keep the wipes moist. These wipes have aloe vera and have no fragrance, no colour and are hypo-allergenic and dermatologically tested. They are suitable for all skin types.
The wipes themselves are thin, very soft and there isn't much of a smell from them - just a slight aloe vera smell. To use the wipes you just rub over your face to remove dirt and makeup.
The soft wipes don't drag on your skin and feel very soft to the touch. They leave your skin feeling clean, although my skin did tingle slightly after using these wipes. They didn't irritate my eyes though, which was a bonus. They didn't remove all my eyeliner though, but the rest of my makeup was removed. My face doesn't feel as clean though as with my usual cleanser, but they are handy for those occasions where you either are too tired to remove all your makeup or just want something quick to remove your makeup.
The ingredients in these wipes are as follows:
Aqua, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Glycerin, Ceteareth-20, Glyceryl Stearate, Ceteareth-12, Benzoic Acid, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid
These wipes aren't perfect, but for the £2 or so that I spent, they are good. The wipes are very gentle and don't irritate my eyes unlike some other sensitive make up removers. They aren't perfect, but for the price, I can't complain. Once opened, it's recommended to use these wipes within 3 months.
I bought these face wipes, because I had a voucher for extra points on my loyalty card. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised! I usually use baby wipes to remove make up, as they are cheaper, but would consider buying these again if there was an offer/more points deal sort of thing on. The 25 wipes are a good size as they fit perfectly into my make up bag! A big positive for me! I did not have any irritation, which is another reason I changed from using specified face wipes to baby wipes, as they are usually a lot better on my skin, but these were ideal. One problem I have is I usually have to use 2 wipes to remove all my make up with these face wipes (another reason to by baby wipes - they are bigger!). On average I'm quite pleased with this product, but am more likely to buy baby wipes, unless there is a special deal on.
Boots Simply Sensitive Face Wipes
I bought these face wipes to they instead of the boots cucumber wipes which do not really irriate my skin at all. These face wipes where an impulse buy from the boots website along with a couple of other boots simply sensitive products.
- About the product
Boots simply sensitive face wipes come in a re-sealable pack and it contains 25 wipes which do last me a while as I don't use wipes that often. This product does not contain fragrance or colours. They are hypoallergenic and they are dermatologically tested.

- Using the product and results
Firstly, the seal on this pack is just a sticker seal and it does not seal fully so the wipes can dry out slightly over time. The wipes are made of a very smooth, soft material and they are fairly moist, although not as much as they were when I first purchased them. Even though these wipes are stated to have no fragrance, they do have a scent to them and it is not that pleasant. This product has a plastic scent which is fairly strong and it is not that nice, in my opinion. When using the wipes I find that they do remove make up really well, even my waterproof mascara and eye shadows. For me one wipes is enough to take nearly all of my make up off fairly well before cleansing my face properly with my REN Hydra Calm cleanser. Once I have finished using the wipe I find that my skin does feel a little bit tingly and slightly irritated; an effect the boots cucumber wipes do not have. Overall, I think these wipes are very handy and are good at removing make up before I cleanse my face but they do irritate my skin slightly.
- Price and availability
I purchased these wipes from boots.com a couple of months ago and they are currently priced at only £2.75 which is a great price, in my opinion. I do like these wipes apart from the irritation and because this product does irritate my skin slightly I will not be buying them again. I think I will continue to purchase the boots cucumber wipes instead.
*Smooth/soft on the skin
*Cheap, in my opinion
*Takes off most of my make up fairly well
*Scent - plastic and not very pleasant
*Irritates my skin - tingling and very slight itching
*Wipes dry out with time because the sticker seal on the pack is not very good
