Nice, cheap toner to use if you have sensitive skin and a toner is a must have.

I'm not really one for using toners but I was shopping for products for sensitive skin, and all of Boots' Simply Sensitive range had a third off. 200mls for under £2, I could hardly resist. This toner is free of fragrance, colour and is hypo-allergenic. Therefore a good option for people who have sensitive skin, or anyone who is looking for a more gentle cleansing regime. When looking for products formulated for sensitive skin, it can be quite a challenge. Especially when on a budget, and looking for more than one type of product. Also when there are a lot of products available that claim to be for sensitive skin, but contain a whole load of irritating ingredients such as alcohol.

Anyway, the Boots Sensitive Skin line offers a range of basic skincare products, much similar to the Simple brand, only much cheaper and not as many products to choose from. This might seem like a bad thing, but I find the limited choice quite refreshing as it means I don't have to stand there looking lost, wondering what on earth to go for.

Along with everything else in this line, the toner contains Aloe Versa, a well known ingredient for calming and soothing the skin. The toner doesn't claim to do anything special for your skin, just the usual removing last traces of makeup etc. It is a nice toner to use... It refreshes the skin and makes the pores tingle for a while. It also feels slightly moisturising, but not in a greasy or heavy kind of way. Plus the fact that it's gentle makes me feel better about using it, despite the fact I don't really understand the use of toners.

Although the toner contains Aloe Vera, it isn't enough to actually benefit the skin. Well, being listed as one of the last ingredients, I doubt it is enough anyway. Either way, it is a great alternative to using Simple toners or if you're just looking for something simple and gentle in your skincare.
