Advantages: Works a bit
Disadvantages: Not effective at blackhead removing at all
Very often when it comes to face masks I use a sachet giving me the one application as I like to try different ones out depending on my needs at the time and mood. However with this hotter weather upon us at the moment my skin has been sweating and I have been suffering with the odd spot break out and more black and white heads have been appearing, not a good look when your almost 38 years old I can tell you!
So when I was in Boots the other day I was in the market to buy something soothing and to help with the above problems and I paid £3.05 for a 50ml tube of it which I thought was a good buy and as a general rule I do like Boots own branded stuff.
The Packaging:
The tube is as I have just mentioned 50ml in size and is see through and slightly frosted with flip top lid to the bottom of it concealing a small hole. On the front of it there is a picture of a flower on there and we are told that it is Boots Peels Off Face Mask Tea Tree + Witch Hazel 'Deep cleans and tightens pores + helps remove blackheads' then on the back of the tube we are told a bit about the product and what to expect from it, we are told how to use it and cautions are given as well as the size (as I have stated already), we are told that once opened to use the product up within 24 months and contact details for Boots are given. Simple and informative packaging this is and nothing fancy to look at.
Using It:
Well on the back of the tube we are told that this product is meant to grab dirt from pores which helps to remove blackheads and is also meant to do that as a preventative treatment to help stop further breakouts.
Using it is a bit tricky. The product is a thickish, clear gel and it is sticky. On contact with the face it is easy to apply though like I say a bit sticky and gloopy and it has a fresh sort of plant aroma to it which is actually really refreshing smelling and not too strong. We are advised to apply a 1mm layer evenely all over the face, me I'm no good at knowing what that means so I just apply a thinnish layer all over my face and we are advised to let it dry for about 10-15 minutes.
I don't find this to tingle on my face though this does tighten and dry as it is a peel off mask though I do find that it takes about 20 minutes to completely dry and to be peelable off my face and to be honest I only ever use a thinnish layer of it. We are told on the back of the tube that if you use this in the bath it doesn't 'set' which makes it uneffective in the mask stakes but if you want to use it that way I'm sure you can, it will at least work in some part I suppose!
When dried I get to peeling this off and when fully dry its easy enough though I do advise you to miss your eyebrows out when applying this as it does stick to hairs and is annoying to pick it out of them bit by bit!
On the whole though I'm happy enough with the results that this gives me. Its easy enough to peel it off and it doesn't hurt, I can go near my eyes with it without upsetting them (a big plus point for me!) and once done I simply splash my face with water though sometimes I do get it a bit plastered on my hairline, but hey thats my fault not the masks!
It seems to remove excess grease from my skin and makes it look less shiny after using it and skin glows for a time too. I don't find that this has removed any black or white heads, I mean this isn't an industrial strength peel off mask and it hasn't removed any of mine at all but I have notifced less spot breakouts however whether thats due to this mask or coincidence......well I'm not entirely sure to be perfectly honest with you. My skin doesn't feel cleaner after using it or 'pepped up' or owt and I have to admit that although its ok I wouldn't buy a peel off formula again such as this and the stickiness in use does annoy me a bit!
If your looking for a preventative treatment then at this price you could give it a go but don't expect miracles after using this eh!
Only available in Boots stores priced at £3.05 a tube and expect a fair few uses in each tube too. I have so far had 6 uses out of my 50ml tube and reckon I'll get about the same again.
Only available from Boots and places like Ebay!

Summary: An ok product but I won't be buying it again
