Boots Time Delay Facial Exfoliator
Advantages: Exfoliating, cleansing and moisturising
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than others
***A bit of background***
Over the last few years, I have tried almost every exfoliating face wash stocked by Boots, Superdrug and Bodycare! I have horrible dry skin which makes it very hard to find products which work on my skin. Although my skin is very dry, I use an exfoliator face wash after 8 hours per day of cheffing, which builds up a layer of grease on your skin, which feels vile. I went into boots and had a browse round the skin care aisle. The skin care expert clearly saw me wondering around looking confused, as she came over to find out if she could help. I posed my problem to her, that I was looking for a daily use exfoliator which is suitable for very dry skin but would remove a layer of veg oil grease! I fully expected to come up blank, however, she immediately identified the problem I have had so far. She stated that most have Salicyclic acid in the ingredients, which is very drying. She suggested the Boots Time Delay Daily Facial Exfoliator as it has exfoliating and moisturising properties. My first thought was "Eh? Time Delay?? I'm 24!" However, what she said seemed to make sense, so I gave it a go.
After wetting your face, squeeze a bit into your hand and gently massage into your skin. I was really impressed while using this product. Firstly, the texture is quite thick and looks rather luxurious. I liked that the exfoliating bits weren't bright blue like most products and they looked like grains of sugar which blended in with the white colour of the facial wash. After putting it on my skin, I noticed the difference immediately. At this point with any other product, my skin feels tight and dry; but this product made my skin feel moisturised and soft. I washed it off and patted my skin dry and directed on the bottle and really noticed the effects. My skin felt really clean and moisturised and I could really feel the layer of grease from work had gone.
After using an exfoliating face wash, I normally have to use intensive hand moisturiser on my face so that I can actually apply make up without my skin looking very dry and horrible. However, I didn't feel any need to do that after using this facial wash. I applied my tinted moisturiser and needed no additional moisturiser! That has never happened!
This item is priced at £4.59. Originally, I thought the price was quite steep, especially compared to the other facial exfoliators ont he market. I'm glad I gave it a go, now that I have found a product that suits my skin, I would willingly pay that! Boots often have offers like 3 for 2 on skincare. This offer was running when I brought this product, however, I didn't go for it just in case it didn't suit me.
Time Delay Facial Exfoliator is in a clear green "upside down" bottle which stands on the lid, with a capacity of 100ml. It has shiny green lettering on the front with the Time Delay slogan on the front near the lid "Skin Looks Younger Day By Day".
The back of the bottle has a description of the product, and directions for use. It then lists the usual cosmetic warnings about not getting it in your eyes etc! Next, comes a scientific list of ingredients.
Even though this product is a "Time Delay" product, I fully recommend it to anyone, particularly if you have difficult skin. It really works well and makes your skin feel really moisturised.
Summary: Brilliant product
