==Boots Time Delay Wrinkle Reducing Night Serum==
From time to time Boots will pump out a £5 money off voucher from the till for certain products or brands and this is where I really take advantage. The most common voucher produced by the tills is for the Boots own "Time Delay" range and a few months ago I made full use of every voucher printed and made sure I stocked up on every available product!
I have never before owned or even tried out a serum and was rather intrigued as to what this particular product would be like. For £6.49p what you actually get is a small 30 ml bottle housed inside an outer cardboard box. This price is made even more reasonable with my 10% discount taken off first (65 p) and then using the £5 voucher I ended up paying a mere 85 pence for this product which is a total bargain! Plus I somehow managed to score myself a further £5 off voucher from the till!
The outer cardboard box gives all the necessary information about the product inside. There is the information on what the product is actually made from, all the contact details for Boots and the description of what the product claims to do. The message is simple for this product and it is basically "skin looks younger day by day". It states that it can visibly improve the appearance of fine line and wrinkles within 4 weeks and surely this is the sort of thing that most people would be after!
The design of the bottle is really rather simple with a cloudy glass bottle and a pump action dispenser giving you everything you need but on a basic scale. It doesn't have a great feel to it and of course it doesn't look expensive or really look like a good product and I feel the packaging is a bit of a let down on the whole.
Applying this serum should be rather simple but on the whole I have found it is not! The main problem would be the fact that the pump dispenser is totally rubbish. You cannot pump out more than one pump at a time quickly and have to wait for the air pressure to get back into the pump before you can get any more of the serum out. This may not seem like a pain but the small amount that is let out within one pump doesn't really go too far and for complete facial coverage I would say an average of 5 or 6 pumps are needed so this tends to take quite a long time.
After the initial struggle with getting the serum out of the bottle, it is all good. The creamy translucent coloured serum is light and sweetly fragranced. I tend to apply one pump at a time and once I have rubbed one bit in the pump is again ready to let out more of the serum. Having never used a serum before, I was pleasantly surprised with how it felt against my skin. It really glided across my face with ease and felt wonderfully cooling and nourishing at the same time.
The serum seemed to soak into my skin rather quickly and left my skin looking fresh and feeling plump and silky smooth. The fragrance is not at all strong but a very mild and lovely scent that I really like. As it is a night serum it of course goes on just before bed and after I have cleansed and toned (or used a facial wipe). It does also advise that you apply the Boots Time Delay Night Mosituriser after using the serum and this was another product that I had purchased with the many £5 off vouchers. Both the serum and the night moisturiser work really well together and seem to have the same sort of aroma.
I have to say that I was really impressed with this serum and so much so that when the vouchers were pumping out the tills again that I really did stock up on the product and had to visit two different Boots stores to wipe out their stock! I can't really say that it did reduce any wrinkles as really this is not a problem I am overly suffering with (yet). My skin on the whole did appear plumper and fresher looking with a very smooth and silky feel to it in the morning after application.
Over the month or so that it took to use up the bottle my skin did take on a nice look in the morning but it is difficult to attribute to this particular product as there are a lot of products I use and I am trying to drink more water and eat a little healthier which I am sure would have much more affect than using an 85 p wrinkle reducing serum.
However my main reasons for liking this product would have to be the cheap, cheap price and also the fact that it felt so nice when applying and made my skin feel smooth like velvet. The bottle does seem to last that long with giving around a months worth of use each night and I did find it difficult to get all the remains of the product out from the glass bottle.
However it was nice to use and it is something I would most certainly buy again. I think a 4 out of 5 star rating is in order and a recommendation especially if you have one of the £5 money off vouchers.
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
This is a review of Time Delay Wrinkle Reducing Night Serum from the Boots own range.
I bought this using a £5 till voucher and it was reduced at the time so I only paid around £1.50 for this product (30ml). But I think it's usually around the £10 mark. What prompted me to try it was the hype surrounding Boots Protect and Perfect range, particularly the serum.
***Not on the web any more...***
What's interesting now is that they seem to have stopped selling the night serum online and have a day version of it. Perhaps it was too similar to the P&P and people were on to them? I think they have replaced it with a similar daily formula. I mean, whilst I like to look after my skin I can't always be bothered to put on 'night cream' and use this by day anyway.
The packaging is a premium-feel glass bottle and a pump dispenser on the top with clear plastic top. This in turn is packaged in a cardboard top topped with purple. It's quite distinctive packaging and feels quite expensive with clean lines and functional dispensing without any waste. UPDATE: When I got to the end of the bottle using the pump, the product stuck to the glass and I found there was around 30% unreachable. I had to abandon the pump and dig it out with a cotton bud. Very wasteful.
**What's it like?****
The product dispenses with a pump and I find I need around four pumps to do my whole face. It feels like silk to the touch and just glides on to the skin. I usually do my face and neck and it sinks in quite quickly.
Why is it so similar to the P&P serum? It's made of the same ingredients plus Parfum and Dipropylene Glycol. But the price difference is immense (P&P= £18.50 for 30 ml). I will be interested to try the day serum next time I get a till voucher (curently £7.74 for 30ml).
Skin looks younger day by day. Glides on to help skin regenerate and repair the signs of skin ageing over time. Visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 4 weeks.
**Does it work?**
Well, although I don't have many wrinkles at 31 (32 tomorrow!), I have always moisturised my skin to keep it nice and hydrated. I think this stuff must work because I got ID'd yesterday! I was wearing a hoody so I think that addded to the shop assistant's confusion over my age but I'll take that as a compliment.
Similar to the No7 Protect and Perfect this product's a lot better priced. I will continue to use this one and then will switch to the daily formula when I get another voucher. Don't overlook the time delay products next time you're in Boots.
I bought this 2 months ago when I saw it on offer in Boots. It is normally £10 but I got it for just under £4 which I thought was a bargain.
The packaging is a basic white box with a purple stripe on it. The bottle itself is made of frosted glass with a silver plastic pump and transparent lid on top. It is 30ml. When you dispense it onto your finger it feels thick and is white.
You need about 4 to 5 pumps of it to do your whole face and neck. I normally dab it onto my skin then gently massage it in paying attention to the parts that worry me the most. When you have done this it makes your skin feel very velvety and smooth.
The smell is gorgeous and has a gentle fruit sweet smell.
I use this every night and put it straight on after cleansing. I think you can tell a difference as I have quite a big frown line in between my eyebrows and it isnt as pronounced now.
It really is good quality and good value even at its normal price as I have still got half of the bottle left after 2 months. Overall I think this works and will continue to use this product.
After having such fantastic results with Boots Time Delay Line Softening Serum I was so excited to spy this on the Time Delay Counter. I was so excited I threw it in my trolley without really looking at it to be honest I just knew wanted it lol
Comes in simple white box with a hint of purple on the top. Very simple. Just tells me what it is and who it is by. The bottle inside is a 30ml frosted glass recyclable pump action bottle and has a little see through plastic lid over the top for safety. The labelling on the bottle tells me its time to moisturise and tells me skin looks younger every day along with the make and telling me what is it once again. On the back tells me what is should do and how it works along with direction for use.
What It Should Do....
Time Delay Wrinkle Reducing Night Serum glides on to help skin regenerate and repair the signs of skin ageing over time, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 4 weeks.
How To Use....
This velvety, ultra-light serum works overnight, assisting skin's natural rhythms of repairs, helping skin regenerate. Formulated with powerful antioxidants and a specialist skin-firming complex it works by allowing skin to help itself repair from within, delaying the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Apply every evening after cleansing and toning, then follow with Time Delay Night Moisturiser for visibly younger looking skin, day by day.
Again another product I love and I love it on so many levels.
Simple to use, 4 small pumps covers my whole face and neck and blends easily. It's a creamy light whitish consistency that has a lovely mild light fruit smell. It goes on slightly oily but dries into the skin almost immediately, leaving it soft and hydrated feeling. Wrinkles, immediately look reduced, particularly the fine lines around the lips and eyes. Over time (around 4 weeks as Boots state) my deep frown lines are so much softer. It doesn't magically get rid of them but the smaller lines on my face have completely gone, I do not lie.
I was particularly concerned about one line appearing near my mouth that looked a bit hangy and puckered and it looked like it needed an iron to be truthful and it was a badly giving my away of my age. In 2 days this line had completely gone...Honest.
It goes under moisturiser, of course they do recommend their own, well they would wouldn't they?! lol However I do use that and use my usual Olay Night time moisturiser and there is no difference at all. One thing I have noticed is the better the moisturiser you use the better the results however if you you a cheap moisturiser then this will still turn into something luxurious and a whole heap better anyway. Your moisturiser easily glides over the top and you certainly don't need to use as much moisturiser as perhaps your used to. My skin doesn't feel heavy or mask like with this extra product on at all and its not irritating on my sensitive skin and doesn't 'feed' my spots.
The results speak for themselves as all Time Delay products always do in my quest of trying them all has shown. It's not all about fancy packaging or gimmicks. It's about whether the products work and yes they flipping well do! They have really rescued my skin and helped really stop the signs of aging and I adore this range.
If the price is high to you and it's a treat and you only have fine lines either just apply it really where you need it or use it less regular to make the product last you longer. I've owned this a while now using it every night and sometimes applied a little to my moisturiser before applying make up for a smooth finish and its lasted me 3 months already and I've barely touched any product so although its a tenner to buy it's economical as you have no need to cake your face in it, less is more and it's horrible if you put too much on, you'll only do it once lol
All in a must have, seriously recommended if you have any lines you are worried about, particularly great if you smoke and suck to many cigarettes as it fights them little lines around your lips.
£10.00 in Boots only.
