      Great solution for darker skin

As a very busy mum of 3 little ones, I find it difficult to find the time for pampering and is very rare that I get around to putting on makeup. I have been able to get away with this in the past but am increasingly seeing the need to brighten up and even out my skin (and cover up the dark circles caused by so many sleepless nights). Being a non-makeup wearer, I am not used to the feeling of foundation and find it uncomfortable when I do wear it. I was therefore intrigued when my colleague told me about CC and BB creams. For anyone (like me) who doesn't know much about makeup these are somewhere between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation. I read a few of the reviews on dooyoo and decided to buy one.
I went to Boots to try out the various brands but was surprised to find that there were very few suitable ones for my skin. I would describe my skin tone as Mediterranean. Most of the creams are available in a fair, medium or dark shade. I assumed I would be a medium but found that they were all too dark and since I am most definitely not fair skinned I was quite disappointed with this. The consultant in Boots tried many different ones on my skin but couldn't find any to suit. Then she suggested trying the no 7 triple protection tinted moisturiser as this comes in a fair/medium shade. Bingo. It was perfect.
At twelve pounds, the No 7 triple protection tinted moisturiser is in the mid-range of the price options. It comes in a squeezy thin plastic tube and I find I only need a minimal amount to get the coverage required so this should last for ages. The triple protection elements are 5 star UVA technology, SPF 15 and a patent oxidant complex (whatever that is!). These combine to 'give your skin advanced protection from the sun and environment'.
The main advantage for me is that I find it can be put on in a hurry without the need for blending which is exactly what I was looking for. The coverage is light but I can certainly see the difference. My face looks more even toned (a bit like it has been lightly airbrushed). It feels like having a heavy moisturiser on my skin which is not unpleasant especially if you have dry skin like me.
There is no aroma and the SPF 15 protection will be great in the summer. Having said that, I think this is perfect for the winter to give your tired skin a boost. The light defusing element in the moisturiser does make you feel a bit more glowing.

The packaging is a bit dull but the price and the product are both very good. I would highly recommend this, especially for anyone with a slightly darker complexion than fair.

        Disadvantages

Great tinted moisturiser, I prefer it to any foundation

Sick of looking like an umpa lumpa? Then look no further, this is a great tinted moisturiser that won't break the bank. I have been using it for an number of year, before this addition No7 had a tinted moistureiser called 'dual protect', which is basically the same but with added 5-star UVA protection. I like the No7 range, especially there foundations and powders. I find the brand very affordable. The only down side is that you can only purchase it from Boots (or perhaps sites like Ebay/Amazon), rather than other brand like Rimmel and Maybelline, which you can also purchase from supermarkets.

        **** What is it? ****
This is a tinted moisturiser by Boots own range No7. Which comes in three different shades, light, medium and light/medium. This has 5-star UVA protection and SPF 15.

**** Packaging, Price and Availability ****
This tinted moisturiser comes in a beige/golden tube with a black screw top lid. A 50ml tube of this tinted moisturiser will currently set you back £11.50 from Boots. I usually purchase this when I have a £5 off voucher or if there is a 3 for 2 deal.

        **** Performance ****
I normally use this tinted moisturiser instead of using a foundation, especially if I am on holiday (where I have a tan) or in the summer when I want a fresh faced look. Saying that, I do still use this in the winter and add a little foundation to it. I apply this tinted moisture in the same way I would a foundation, using a foundation brush or my fingers. I dot it around my face and blend it into my skin. Once it is applied it feels very light, unlike some foundation, and gives a healthy looking glow. My complexion is medium to fair and I use the medium colour which I find fits my skin tone perfectly. I have found a lot of foundations to give my face an orange tinge, and I am happy to say there is no orange with this product. Even when you wipe it of with a make-up wipe it is more of a brown colour.

I use this tinted moisturise everyday and one tube can usually last me for around 3 months before I need to purchase another one. I find this to be quite standard with most moisturises/foundations. The consistency of the cream is thick and creamy which means that you do not need to apply much to your face. I like to squeeze my tinted moisturiser onto the side of my hand before putting it on my face and I have found other moisturiser to be very runny and make a right mess.

Staying Power? The colour and hydration lasts all day and doesn't start to look patchy, unlike some foundations. Once I have applied this tinted moisturiser it doesn't actually feel like I am wearing any make up on my face as it is so light, this is particularly good in the summer when you can get a bit hot and sweaty.

Does it moisturise? Yes, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, however I do not have particularly dry skin. If you did have very dry skin then it might be worth using a separate moisturiser first, before applying this.

        **** Summary ****
I would definitely recommend this tinted moisturiser over any foundation, as this gives better coverage whilst also hydrating your skin. The SPF 15 is very useful as I do not need to apply sun cream over the top of my make-up whilst trying not to ruin it. This is a great tinted moisturiser that I have sworn by for a very long time. I think £11.50 for a tinted moisturiser, which is easy to use and lasts all-day is great value for money. It is also great for people that find it hard to blend foundation, as this goes on very smoothly with little effort. I give this product 5/5 stars and I will definitely be buying more.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Covers my skin well and feels nice and soft

For someone at age 54 who has never worn any kind of make up on my face other than eye stuff and a bit of lippy now and then, I wanted something to try out so I could practice applying make up for the wedding I am going to in May. I asked a friend who I knew wore make up and was nearer my age and she recommended I try a tinted moisturiser first and see if that was sufficient so I went to Boots to look what they had there.

I found one of their own No7 make which looked like a good buy, it was £11.50, which seemed quite expensive to me never having bought anything like it before but thought I would give it a go as I had a voucher for £5 off No7 products.

The tube says it contains UV protection which is an added bonus. It also says it is hypo-allergenic which is good at my skin is very dry and sensitive.

The hole in the top of the tube is quite tiny so you can squeeze out the tiniest amount onto your finger tip. I have been just applying a tiny amount at a time to each part of my face. It gives it a nice tint without it looking like it is clogged up with foundation and makes my skin feel soft. I am still using my normal moisturiser underneath and then applying this over the top.

I am very pleased with the look this product gives, it makes my skin look a lot younger than it does without the make up as it covers over slight blemishes and give it a smoother look. I have been using this tube since way before Christmas, I don't use it every day but it has had a good use and still feels like there is plenty in there so think the price was a good one. I would recommend this product if you want something light to wear instead of a thicker foundation.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Good quality, reasonable price

I am a busy mother of two and I really do not have a skin care regime and I do not have time to spend hours putting on make up! I am a fan of dual products and so the Tinted moisturiser is perfect for me.

            Cost and stockist:
The tinted moisturiser is from boots and can be purchased in stores although not always in the Airport stores you can also purchase on line at www.boots.com. The cost of this is £12.00 although look out for instore offers as it is often on 3 for 2.

            Why Buy.
If like me you are not a fan of spending hours in front of the mirror moisturising, or indeed you do not like heavy foundations then this is perfect for you as not only does it moisturise it also gives a good even coverage whilst not being heavy.
The moisuriser will deliver all day hydration to your skin and it also has a spf factor giving protection from
            the sun's harmful rays.

The inted moisturiser comes in Fir, fair/medium amd medium and all No7 consultants will be happy to advise on which one suits your skin tone best.

            Recomendation
I really recomend this moituriser as it like all No 7 products reasonably priced I trust the No 7 brand and I find that the product lasts well both in terms of staying on your face as well as the bottle lasting well. for ease and time saving this is a brilliant product and as well as giving me great colour it is looking after my skin a real bonus!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            a decent tinted moisturiser

No7 is a Boots own brand who offer a wide range of cosmetics and skin care products.

            ~Triple Protection~

No7 used to offer a Dual Protection Tinted Moisturiser but have stepped up their game. Now they offer a Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser. This moisturiser is suitable for all skin types and is available in 3 shades - fair, fair/medium and medium.

No7 claim that this tinted moisturiser will provide "long lasting hydration, advanced environmental protection and beautiful sheer colour". (Boots website/packaging). The moisturiser is hypo-allergenic and contains SPF15 for light sun protection. It has a 5star UVA protection system and claims to have a patent-oxidant complex to protect the skin from the sun and the environment at the same time.

The moisturiser contains Hyaluronic Acid which offers 24hr moisturisation. Other key ingredients include Vitamins A and E for protection. No7 claim that these key ingredients combined with the colouring, will leave your skin even, radiant and healthy in appearance.

            ~Packaging~

The moisturiser is housed within a sleek gold tube with black writing and a screw off lid. The tube can be recycled. Inside the tube, you are faced with a raised dispensing hole. It is worth noting this moisturiser has a shelf life of 24months from first opening.

            ~Price~

This moisturiser is 50ml in size and is available to purchase from www.boots.com or larger Boots stores. It is currently priced at £12.00. It is often worth waiting for the £5.00 off voucher offers, 3 for 2 or special goody bag offers.

            ~My Thoughts~

No7 is one of my trusted brands and although I often try out more expensive brands, I always find myself going back to No7. Last year I used the Dual Protection moisturiser from this range and found it to be lacking in the hydration stakes. I didn't personally buy this new Triple Protection moisturiser. My sister had purchased it a few months ago and decided the medium colour was a little too strong for her pale skin. She isn't very good with make up so it didn't surprise me that she had picked a shade too dark! My skin is a little darker but not by much though I do like a decent coverage.

I find the tube to be quite attractive and I personally find it looks quite expensive and upmarket. Most of the No7 packaging is attractive but this tube goes a bit further. It is easy to grip and I am able to dispense a small blob of moisturiser onto my fingertips before applying to my face. Whilst this does claim to have moisturising abilities, I find my dry skin needs an extra boost (a day cream) to be applied prior to applying this moisturiser. If I don't do this then dry particles start to seep through and ruin the overall look.

            ~Protect and Perform~

The moisturiser itself is quite dark when dispensed from the tube and resembles a foundation. It feels cool and quite thick whilst on my fingertips but once applied to my freshly cleansed and moisturised face, the smoothness of the moisturiser, allows me to spread it across my skin. The consistency changes to a light yet creamy feel and you can tell it isn't a foundation as it doesn't have the richness present.

I find I need to apply this is small amounts as it does start to set quickly. I apply it to my whole face and it covers well. The medium shade as I said, is quite dark but as it spreads across my face, it adapts and evens out my skin tone. My face feels fresh and certainly isn't clogged up when wearing this moisturiser. I do find the moisturiser takes a short while to fully settle on my skin. At first it feels slightly sticky on the surface but soon melts in leaving a smooth, powdery feel on my face. The moisturiser has a subtle cosmetic smell about it which doesn't linger.

            ~No Oompa Loompa Here~

The coverage from this moisturiser is decent enough if you are out and about during the day and want something light yet effective on your face. It isn't too strong but provides my skin with a light, fresh and dewy appearance. I can sweep some blusher over the top or leave it as it is and the look is very natural and not overdone. As the moisturiser is very easy to blend, there is no orange lines like many foundations offer. The moisturiser won't cover every imperfection like a foundation but I'm quite lucky that way.The tinted colour lasts throughout the day without going cakey or patchy and any remains sweep off with a wipe or cleansing fluid.

The moisturising aspect of this moisturiser is debatable. If you have normal skin, this could suit you find as there is enough to keep you going. It did keep my sisters skin moisturised throughout the day but not as long as 24hrs. For dry skin, a base is definently needed but nothing overly heavy. I have worn this on warmer days and it does keep my skin fairly hydrated. The SPF15 isn't high so I wouldn't recommend it for going on holiday without an additional sun lotion.

            ~Conclusion~

£12.00 isn't too bad for this tinted moisturiser. It isn't the best but the tube lasts several months with regular use. It is a decent quality, easy to apply and looks/feels good on my skin. I prefer using this tinted moisturiser when I don't want to overdo my makeup or just want light coverage this does the job.

Overall I recommend this tinted moisturiser.

            Thanks for reading x
