Advantages: works well, lasts a long time, cheaper than a lot of other creams
Disadvantages: tastes really bad if you get it on your lips
About a year ago I started to think my skin looked a bit dry on my face. I used to just use any old moisturiser in the morning before my make-up, but I decided to get proper day and night cream. I don't know a whole lot about cosmetics and I never spend a lot of money on them so I just bought this Boots Vitamin E moisture cream. I bought a day and a night version for about £3 each for a 50ml tub. They are great value for money because I have used them almost every day for almost a year and I still have some left.
My skin is fairly normal with occasional dryness and I don't suffer from breakouts. I bought this because it says it is suitable for all skin types and it certainly works on mine. I apply it at night after I've taken my make-up off and in the morning after my shower and before I do my make-up. It's a white lotion with a slight peachy tint. It does contain Parfum fragrance and smells a bit like Johnson's Baby lotion, but it's not strong and doesn't linger on your face. It's not a greasy moisturiser and rubs in very easily with very little residue - the only place I get a bit of residue is if I rub it over my eyebrows and then try to immediately apply eyebrow pencil. I occasionally accidentally get some in my fringe when applying it to my forehead, but it rubs off without leaving a greasy patch.
After nearly a year of use I was convinced the day and night creams were the same, but having read the ingredients there is one very small difference; the night cream has shea butter in to keep you moisturised all through the night. The vitamin e in both creams is an antioxidant which protects the top layer of skin from pollution and damage while keeping it smooth and soft. It also reduces inflammation and the effects of sunburn.
The only disadvantage I have is that it tastes really bad. It tastes like strong shampoo and because I apply it all over my face I can sometimes taste it on my lips. Very very unpleasant, but it's not for eating so it's not really a criticism of the product - just something to watch out for.
This works very well and clears up any dryness straight after applying. For the price I will definitely be buying more when I run out as I don't see the need to splash out on anything fancier.
Summary: will definitely buy again
