Really suits my spot prone sensitive skin!

I have been using the Botanics Cleaning Mousse for around 3 months now on and off. It has recently been changed to "Pore Perfecting Deep Clean Mousse for Blemish Prone Skin" which is when I saw it and thought I would give it a try.

I do suffer from bad spots and have recently moved on to Lush products and they seem to help a lot, but before I tried Lush I got this cleansing Mousse to try as a twice daily face wash.

The Botanics range is only sold in Boots as it is one of there product lines, and claims to harness nature to help skin using natural ingredients and extracts in all products. The range is designed in clear bottles, jars and tubs with white labels and pale green writing which helps to show the products natural background. Current price is £4.07.
The Deep Clean Mousse is supplied in a 150ml bottle with a pump action applicator in white under a clear lid. It claims to "Sweep away impurities, excess oil and dead skin cells, while also keeping skin smooth and healthy looking" and contains Rosemary and Willow Bark.

Rosemary is know to be an antioxidant and antimicrobial which helps to not only reduce any bacteria on the skin but also help to prevent the skin from free radicals
Willow Bark is used as an exfoliant and gentle sweeps away dead skin cells while clearing pores.
The "Pore Perfecting Deep Clean Mousse for Blemish Prone Skin" is also oil free so won't block up your pores like other cleansers.

As the bottle is transparent you can see that the liquid inside is an off white colour - verging on a grey tone, but you pump the applicator the liquid is transformed into a white mousse. The mouse itself is very fluffy and spreads over you skin easily. The foam does turn to liquid again as you apply to the face but it doesn't melt instantly, so you can spread the mousse all over your face in time. The mousse feels light and soft on your skin and I didn't get that tingly sensation which anyone with sensitive skin knows is a warning sign. The cleanser does feel like its clearing your skin of any impurities and easily removes a face full of makeup quickly. While using it and after it is washed off my skin felt dewy and didn't have that tight feeling you get from some cleansers, but instead felt quite moisturised. Even after continued use, my skin didn't dry out and in fact felt better overall.

The direction of use is easy - apply mousse to your hand then massage across your whole face then rinse off. As the mousse dissolves it makes it easy to wash off when you're finished and you don't have to really scrub your face either.

When I was using the Mousse twice daily I did notice that my spots had reduced a little - any improvement is worth it in my eyes and my skin looked clearer. The pores on my nose did seem to reduce slightly although not as much as I would hoped for. When I tried Lush's Angels on Bare Skin I was converted but I only use that at night now so my Pore Perfecting Deep Clean Mousse for Blemish Prone Skin stays firmly in my bathroom for every morning and when I feel I need an extra deep clean that the Lush products cannot match. The cheap price makes I even more appealing - well worth trying it!

      Amazing product!

When it comes to my skin I think it's fair to say I've never had much luck. When I was around about 11 years old I began to suffer with acne, it got gradually worse up until I was about 15 before eventually a trip to the dermatologist got me the cream that began to settle my acne down. That said, it is very rare that I wake up with no spots or blackheads and a few weeks ago it really started to get me down as I sat wondering when it was going to end. Throughout my skin troubled years, I've tried so many brands and types of skincare from face wipes to the more serious cleanse, tone and moisturise routines but nothing seemed to improve my skin.
Whilst taking a look at the skincare aisle in Boots, searching for a little ray of hope, the Botanics range caught my eye and it struck me that even though I have tried almost every well known brand I could think of, I had never really been down the 'natural' skincare route.

The Botanics range by Boots has skincare products for all different skin types. My skin can be a little sensitive and oily at times so I was immediately drawn to this 'sensitive cleansing mousse'. Personally I don't like to spend ages rubbing cleanser off with a cotton pad etc so a quick and easy mousse face wash was perfect for me and I bought it for £4.07 which I feel is pretty reasonable for a face wash.
The cleansing mousse is soap free and uses Sweet Gale which is an antibacterial essential oil that purifies the skin and fights bacteria associated with spots and blemishes. Botanics claim the cleansing mousse is gentle, sweeps away impurities and make up without over drying, leaving skin looking healthy and radiant.

The bottle has an easy pump design which is great for getting exactly the amount you need. The clear bottle is great for knowing how much product you have left, so there is none of that panic when you run out without any warning. Inside the bottle, the wash looks just looks like a clear liquid, but when you pump it turns in to a light mousse in your hands which you then just simply spread over your face and wash off with warm water.

In my opinion, this cleansing mousse by Botanics is brilliant. It's quick and easy and removes make-up quickly without any struggle at all. There is no need for any rubbing which would irritate my skin. Unfortunately, I do not know whether it removes eye makeup because I prefer to use a face wipe to do this before using the mousse on the rest of my face. I have seen a significant improvement in the amount of spots and blemishes I have, I would be lying if I said they have gone completely but there is a definite improvement, which is more than can be said for all the other skincare washes I have used in the past. The mousse has a slight smell which I find quite pleasant; to me it smells fresh and natural. I love the fact that I am no longer using harsh chemicals on my face; just simply plant extracts which seems to be doing the job great. I have also noticed that after I wash my face with the mousse, it reduces the redness that I usually get. Also, my skin doesn't seem to get as oily as it did before as the day goes on which is a bonus. The only negative I have to say about this product is that it seems to go down quite quick. I have had my bottle for around 3 weeks and use 2 pumps in the morning and 3 pumps at night to remove my makeup and have got around a quarter left.

I would recommend this Botanics cleansing mousse to anyone who is at the end of their tether with spots and blemishes or just simply want a less harsh skincare routine. Great Product!
