I had a bit of money left on my Amazon gift card balance recently, so I decided to browse the beauty section to see if anything appealed to me. I came across this and immedietly liked the look and sound of it, so I bought it to try out. I love Burt's Bees products and they're great quality, affordable and made with natural ingredients and this is why I wasn't at all hesistant about buying this; Burt's Bees is a brand that I trust.

I paid £8.50 for this excluding delivery which I think is a reasonable price considering that it's such good quality and effective, plus I only need to use a tiny amount at a time so a 7.7ml tube will last for ages - I've had mine since early August and it looks barely used. Although I bought mine from Amazon, it is also available from a range of other places including Holland and Barrett, Debenhams and even Waitrose. Prices vary from £8.00 to around £11.00.

The blemish stick is made with 99 percent natural ingredients, ten of which are herbal. The ingredients list is quite lengthy, but quite interesting as there are some really unusual things in there including various oils and even willow bark. Tea tree is of course one of the ingredients and this along with the natural deep cleansing juniper oils acts as an anti septic; killing any nasty bacteria. Burt's Bees state that the blemish stick's concentrated formula helps to keep your skin flawlessly clear.

The blemish stick comes in a little glass tube which is transparent and fairly basic in design - it's quite short and chunky and it does look and feel quite good quality. It fits in my make-up bag without taking up a lot of room but it is not fiddy at all and I'm able to grip it properly so application is quick and easy. The tube has a white lid which comes off and underneath this there's a rollerball which when rolled across the skin dispenses the oily substance.

I was a little dissapointed about the rollerball initially as I was concerned that it may spread germs around my face, but I've not had any bad breakouts since using this. The rollerball doesn't drag on my skin and using it is comfortable. I usually roll the ball with my fingers and then when it's oily I dab it onto any spots or blemishes that I want to vanish. This works quickly at getting rid of spots and I usually apply it before bed and the next morning there's a noticeable difference; redness is always minimal and the spot appears much less angry. Within 3 days of daily use the spot drys up and heals - which is impressive, in my opinion!

I've never had any issues with this irritating my skin or causing any unpleasant feelings eg burning. My only minor gripe with this is the smell - it's very strong and herbal, but thankfully it does not linger for too long. Overall, I highly recommend this product - it's effective and not too expensive. Five out of five stars!

      Herbal Blemish Stick

Whenever I drink caffeine regularly I come out in spots. The stuff just doesn't agree with me whatsoever - it makes me hyper, shake, feel sickly and makes my skin look terrible, but as I don't sleep very well, and work 11 hour night shifts, I sometimes need it to prevent me from falling asleep and losing my job! For the past few weeks I have been drinking tea and caffeinated soft drinks quite regularly, and unfortunately my skin is showing the signs.

I got a small sized Burt's Bess Blemish Stick in my second Burt's Bees kit, and decided to give it a try. This is a product which is designed to be applied to spots and blemishes to clear them up.

The blemish stick is 99.9% natural, and is made with a combination of 10 oils and plant extracts, all of which have spot-fighting or antiseptic properties. These ingredients include - calendula flower oil, borage seed oil, yarrow oil, parsley leaf extract, willow bark extract, lemon oil, fennel oil, tea tree oil, juniper fruit oil and eucalyptus oil.

The blemish stick comes in a green cardboard box, and the stick itself is in a glass bottle through which you can see the yellow liquid, and has a white plastic screw top lid. When you remove the lid, you will see that there is a plastic roller ball which you use to apply the product. I found the first time I removed the lid, the roller ball had become detached and was stuck inside the lid. I screwed the lid back on and removed it again, and the roller ball was back in place, and thankfully has stayed there since.

Using this product is very simple. You simply apply directly to any affected areas using the roller ball. The first thing you will probably notice about this once you have applied it, is the smell. Not surprisingly, given the amount of oils contained in this, the smell is very potent - to the point it has made my eyes water!

You can apply the product two to three times a day, but they warn against using it any more often, as the strength of the ingredients may start to irritate your skin.

I must admit, that over the years I have used many products that claim to get rid of spots, and as yet have only found one that actually worked - an Avon product which, unfortunately, was discontinued about 5 years ago - so I didn't particularly have high hopes for this.

I was surprised then, that with just one application, the array of spots that had appeared on my forehead had mostly gone the next day. Convinced it was a fluke, still drinking six cups of tea an hour, it wasn't long before I had another spot to test it on! Again, I applied the stick directly to my skin, and again, the next day most blemishes were either completely gone, or very reduced. I have used it several times since, and always found that it gives great results.

The product contains .26 fl oz. and costs £9.49 from www.naturallyfabulous.co.uk

Needless to say, I was very impressed with this product. I was very surprised that this worked, but it did, and despite the incredibly strong smell, I will definitely buy it again to beat the breakout blues!
