      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A lovely skin softening product which cleanses the skin effectively

      I have oily skin which is prone to the odd blemish and I like to wear make up so I need to use a good but gentle cleanser so I decided to give the Skin Conditioning Cleansing Milk by Champneys.

      What does the product do?
      The product is a gentle and cleansing milk which promises to remove impurities, excess oils and make up from the skin. It claims that it will leave you will deeply cleansed skin that is soft and smooth. It contains a whole host of natural ingredients which nourish and strengthen the skin including Jojoba, Argan Oil and Vitamin E. It helps to protect your skins natural moisture levels and promises to leave the skin fresh, soft and supple. The cleanser has been created for those with normal to dry skin.

      How do you use the product?
      You need to dispense some of the product onto your skin and massage it into the skin on your face, including the eye area but with the eyes closed! You then need to wipe off the product using soft cotton pads and repeat the process until the pads come away clean.

      Packaging and Price
      The product comes contained within a clear plastic bottle through which you can see the white product inside. It is plain apart a gold band with the Champneys logo and some extra information about the product. The product has a frosty lid to protect the bottle and it has a pump dispenser which you push down on in order to release the cleanser. You can turn the dispenser to lock it to ensure it doesn't get pushed when you don't want it too. The cleanser will cost you around £7 for 200ml and it can be bought from stores such as Debenhams and Boots and also from a range of online websites.

      Application and Performance
      The product is easy to dispense from the bottle and you can control the amount that is released by how far down you push the pump. The product is white in colour and has the consistency of a light lotion and was a little thicker than I was expecting. It doesn't have much of an aroma but it does have a freshness to it and a slight vanilla smell. I really like it but it isn't strong enough to put anyone off using the product.

      The product feels nice and cool on the skin so it is quite awakening. It glides over the face easily as it has a silky consistency and it feels completely comfortable causing no irritations or discomfort. It also feels really moisturising on the skin. As I wipe a cotton pad over my face, a lot of my make up comes off on the pad so it effective at cleansing the skin. It is really gentle on the eye area and didn't sting or irritate my eyes at all. It manages to remove my eye make up, including water proof mascara without having to overly rub the area.

      The product is quite time consuming compared with a facial wash so I tend to use this as an eye make up remover or in the evenings when I am not in a rush. My skin feels really hydrating and softness after use with no feelings of tightness or dryness. It hasn't caused me to develop any blemishes and it has stopped me from developing more. My skin looks in a good condition and the fresh aroma stays on the skin. You don't need to use a lot of the product in order to achieve the desired results so the bottle should last a long time.

      Conclusion
      All in all, this is a gentle and effective cream cleanser that removes my make up, including waterproof mascara and leaves my skin feel soft, fresh and clean. The product has lots of lovely ingredients to nourish the skin and it is gentle on the eye area. I really like this product and I would happily recommend it but it is a little bit time consuming so I don't use this all the time.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A wonderful milk that cleanses my skin.

      === The product ===

      This is a cleansing milk from Champneys. Champneys is a company selling luxury spa products and offering spa stays in their resorts.

      === The packaging ===

      The packaging of this has been redesigned recently and I now have plastic bottle with a press down pump dispenser and a thick plastic lid. The lid is easy to remove and the pump works well. The bottle allows me to tell roughly how much I have left and I can throw this back in to my box filled with cleansing products and not have to worry about it being damaged or leaking at all.

      === The price ===

      This can be purchased in a 200ml bottle for £7.50 from Boots stores and the Boots website. This is also the standard price on the Champneys website but they have frequent special offers that can see this come down to as cheap as £3.75 although delivery charges may apply if you do not spend a certain amount (usually £50).

      === How to use ===

      I squirt one or two pumps on to my hand and then I rub two or three fingertips in to this and rub this around my face in a circular upwards sweeping motion. I find that one pump is a little short of what I need but two pumps is quite a lot so I usually end up cleansing my neck and the top of my chest also just so that nothing is wasted and I am getting the most for my money. I follow this up with the toner and then usually either the day or night moisturiser.

      === Overall opinion ===

      I absolutely adore Champneys and first started using their products regularly around 18 months ago. At Christmas and on my Birthday I ALWAYS receive Champneys products from my husband and he loves to hunt out new ones that I have not tried before which pleases me greatly. I received a facial skin set a few months ago and have been using the products quite regularly since.

      I love the packaging of this. It is simple to open, even if my hands are damp, I can wipe it clean with a cloth if any of the creamy coloured milk is spilt on the bottle and I can use just two pumps to do my whole face and neck.

      This smells really quite nice, it is hard to put my finger on a particular scent but my husband is always complimenting me on my lovely smelling face when I go to bed now which he never used to do on a daily basis before so he must be noticing a real difference! The milk smells clean, it smells fresh and my skin feels clean after I have used this.

      The first few weeks that I was using this milk I was using the toner straight after and just wiping my face over with a face cloth, I have since started to wipe any excess off with a cotton wool pad and then following up with the toner. I found that whether I wiped the excess off properly or not my skin still felt lovely, soft and smooth.

      I use a cleansing wipe to remove my make-up, particularly my eye make-up, before I use this but I have found that the milk is quite good at removing mascara and the like, however, I find the wipes more convenient as I can do this earlier in the evening and then use my Champneys box of tricks before I head to bed.

      I have been very pleased with this cleansing milk. My skin looks and feels so much better than before and people keep commenting that I 'look well' which I believe, in part, is thanks to using a regular skincare regime both in the morning and the evening which I did not always do before.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Excellent value for money.

        Following on from my Champneys toner review I have also been using their cleansing milk. I have been using Champneys products for nearly 2 years now as primarily I could no longer afford premium brands like Dior, Clarins and Origins. I still wanted what I perceive to be quality but at a price bracket down from my normal brands. Sainsbury's had been selling at half price so luckily I brought 2 of each toner, cleansing milk and eye make up remover pads that I use, then I discovered recently they have discontinued this range.

        I purchased for approx £3.50 and the bottle lasts me over 6 months which is about the same as other brands I have used so this bottle (200ml) is very good value for money. I would like to buy again and have spotted in Boots at £7.50 so I think I'll wait for a promotion or until I have enough advantage points to pay for my next bottle.

        So what's it like?
        Well the bottle has a pump action for dispensing. I always pump too much on to a cotton wool pad which is very annoying and wasteful. Once on the cotton wool I wipe over my face. I really like the smell almost vanilla like which is my favourite scent and quite mild not at all a chemical smell.

        The consistency is just right, not so runny that it feels too thin to do it's job and not so thick that the pump gets clogged up, it also doesn't dry up like other pumps and get crusty. As I wipe over my face it feels really smooth and nice it must do the job well of taking my make up off as on the cotton wool left behind is the remnants of my foundation. It doesn't dry or irate my skin and feels quite moisturising, almost a shame to then use toner! I have not had many spots since using which is another tell tell sign that not all my foundation has come off.

        One downside is that when I get to the end of the bottle it's not easy to get every last drop out. I usually either turn the bottle upside down or cut open once the pump has stopped dispensing but it's not easy to balance upside. I did both methods last time and got another weeks worth once the pump had stopped working in the normal way. I very much like the fact the bottle is clear so you can clearly see how much is left, very handy so you don't run out unexpectedly.

        Overall not only would I recommend but would be willing to pay (nearly) full price. Currently they are on a champneys 3 for 2 offer in boots (30.6.11)

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          I love this cleanser

          Champneys Skin Conditioning Cleansing Milk:

          A while ago whilst staying with a friend I spotted some rather sumptuous looking glass jars on her window sill containing "Bath Floats" which I believe is "posh" for Bubble Bath! I asked her about them and after a sniff I must say I was hooked. I had been aware of the Champneys brand before but I had always dismissed it because of it's price tag but I just had to treat myself! Since then I have become an Champneys addict, their stuff is great, does what it should, works with MY skin and lasts ages. I guess now I am approaching 30 I can justify spending a little more on skincare than I could before!

          This is the first in 3 part review series covering the cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

          Like all Champneys products the packaging on this Cleansing Milk is very plain but looks classy and attractive. The bottle is clear showing the white product beneath and the rest of the design is in pink and gold. It's a well designed aesthetic which will look great in the chintzy-est or most minimalistic bathrooms. I guess how things look isn't massively important but when spending a lot of money of something it's nice that's all bases have been covered.

          The 200ml plastic bottle has a pump at the top to make dispensing the product easy and to reduce waste. I have to say this is the best pump I have ever used on a cosmetics product. It may be a little stiff to use at first but it is responsive to the pressure you apply so YOU can control the amount dispensed. The lock is effective to, so often the lock is impossible to use once you have started the product, which is really great for travelling as you don't run the risk of cleanser all over the contents of your case!

          To use the cleansing milk you dispense a little into your hand and massage into the skin with your finger tips before washing off with warm water, I use a muslin cloth, or wiping off with a tissue or cotton wool pad. I like the fact that you can either wash or wipe it off as it means I can clean my face without water if needed or just quickly wipe off my make-up after a night out without any fuss.

          I have to say this cleanser is much, much thicker than I expected given that it is a cleansing milk, it's much more of a lotion or cream, but I was really happy with it as it means I can use less and I am less likely to waste any. It remains white when applied to skin which I like as it means I can see where it is an ensure that I wipe it all away.

          The cleansing milk has a subtle scent to it - it's sweet with hints of cocoa and vanilla in my opinion and it's pleasant but not at all over powering even though it leaves just a hint of lingering scent on the skin after use.

          After wiping away my skin is cleaner and any make-up has been cleaned away, even my mascara which is layered on, waterproof and the blackest of blacks that I can find. My skin feels softer after use even before I use the toner and moisturiser and it gives me that English Rose complexion that I used to have many moons ago. In fact after an allergic reaction to penicillin my skin was pretty much ruined on my face being very dry and often having sore patches which have been tricky to get rid of; since I started using Champneys products however my skin seems to be getting better, not just temporarily but actually better again.

          Reading the ingredients on the back this does have some of those pesky chemically sounding ingredients in including parabens which I know some people like to avoid. I am willing to forgive them because of how well this product works. It does also contain lot's of yummy natural stuff too like meadowfoam seed oil, jojoba oil, milk proteins, {so it's not vegan friendly} and vitamin E.

          I used to buy my Champneys stuff at Sainsburys as they would often have half priced offers on it but it seems that they no longer stock Champneys and have replaced it with a range of cosmetics that are slightly cheaper but have VERY similar packaging. Now I buy direct from www.champneys.com and luckily the have sales and offers too. At full price this is £7.50 which I actually think is great value for money and it has a 24 month shelf life which means you can get a few bottles in when it's on sale.

          {I thought I would mention that the Champneys website has had a sale on for a while now but their product range is really limited and lot's of things are not appearing on the site. There is a sign saying that "New and improved ranges will be added soon" so I guess it's worth checking back from time to time}.

          I love this stuff now and I will continue to use it for as long as I can get it because it does what I want it too and doesn't hurt my sensitive skin. I really recommend this!
