“ Brand: Clarins / Type: Cleansing Lotion / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses, Purifies, „
I have to be honest, there is nothing very special about this toner and there is certainly nothing about it that would really make me recommend it to a prospective purchaser. Certainly there is nothing about it to justify spending anything up to £15 for a 200ml bottle although you can get it cheaper than this if you look around. The bottle itself is made from plastic which is clear and the contents are clearly visible and given that the toner is a green liquid you do get a splash of colour with this product.
It is best to apply with a cotton pad in a circular motion and there is a nice refreshing feel to the product as I apply it to my skin. It also has a good coveridge and you do not need to use a lot in any one single application which means the bottle will last a long time even with daily application. The smell is quite fresh as well with slight fruity overtones, nothing very strong but pleasant none the less.
It does leave your skin with a slight tightening sensation at first but this does not last and instead my face was left looking a bit shiny which is not really what I was looking for from a toner. To be honest after the initial effect I could not really see any benefit in using this product as my skin did not look or feel any better after using it and to be honest it is much better to use a good quality moisturiser that leaves my skin looking a lot healthier and feeling smoother and more alive.
This is not a product I will be buying again and not one I would really recommend.
I Tend to use a cleanser toner and moisturiser on my face first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I usually jump around with what is on offer but as my wedding is flying in so fast thought I would pay a little extra than usual and went for a Clarins toner product. It can be used by itself or as part of your usual routine and there are different version for different skin types.
I purchased the 200 ml size bottle from my nearest John Lewis which set me back around £20 and took it home with a few other bits I got while I was there. It has a screw top lid which you simply take off to get some of the product. The opening is just the right size to make sure lots of the product tips out.
The products itself is clear and has no scent at all it has a strange consistency almost jelly but once on the cotton wool this goes away so that it dos not feel sticky on your face.
To apply simply apply to cotton wool ball and lightly wipe across the face in circular motions and then pat dry. After use I find my skin is softer and feels fresher it is not sticky and sits lightly on the face and dry's very quickly and easily.
I only needed a small amount dabbed on to the cotton wool and it easily glides across my face so The product lasts really well. There is a slight tingling sensation when I use this product but apparently this is a good sign as it means it is working on my pours.
Over all I think it has been fantastic I do use it with a cleanser and moisturiser but since I added this to my daily routine my face feels refreshed pours seem to be smaller and over all condition is great. I will be buying this again when this bottle runs out. Well worth the extra money you pay for it as it works better than cheaper alternatives and lasts longer also.
I have to admit that I am not someone that uses toner every day - but every now and again I do buy some toner and use it for a while. I bought a bottle of Clarins Purifying Toning Lotion from www.celebrityskincare.co.uk for the price of £11.95 about six months ago - and I used it until there was no product left - although I didn't replenish it once it had been finished.
The bottle contains 200mls of the toner - and comes in a clear plastic bottle that is largely plain as is typical for most of the Clarins brand. When you first buy it, the bottle comes in a white cardboard box which has a comprehensive product information leaflet within it which gives details on how to best use it. I like the fact that the bottle is transparent as it means that I can see how much of the product is left.
In order to use, you simply pour a little of the green liquid onto a face pad and then you wipe it over your face in a circular and upward motion. It always feels nice and cool and, as such, is actually quite refreshing first thing in the morning (but can wake you up if you put it on last thing at night!). I found that I actually didn't need much of the toner for each application as a little goes a long way (and so the bottle lasted me about 6 weeks).
The toner has a nice fresh fragrance to it which I feel has a hint of something like cucumber or melon to it - which may also account for the refreshing aspect of it. It is quite a light fragrance and within a few minutes the fragrance disappears altogether. Within a few minutes of application, my face felt quite tight, although it wasn't shiny in the way that I have found some toners have left my skin. However, it is tight enough for me to feel the need to moisturise straight away and the feeling isn't particularly pleasant. Once I had moisturised, my skin just felt slightly taut, but the uncomfortable aspect dissipated - and my skin wasn't oily or greasy.
I did find that this toner was okay on my skin and didn't result in any adverse reactions - which is a bonus as I have sensitive skin (I usually find Clarins products are okay for sensitive skin).
However, the reason that I haven't renewed the purchase is simply because I'm not a huge believer in toners. As I said, now and again I will buy one and try it for a while, and this was as good as any I have tried, but it's just that I don't see an overall improvement in my skin when I tone. I have pretty good skin for my age and I seem to have done well enough without it. When I buy toner in the future, I will consider this product again as it seems to be decent enough, but I just don't feel the need to rush out and buy more!
I use a Toner on my Face every morning and night. I wouldn't say that I stick to a certain brand all the time as i've so far not found my perfect one, but this is a pretty good one and although I just got this in a little travel pack so the bottles were little mini ones I could see myself buying this bottle in a full sized bottle.
So I got this in a 60ml bottle. Not sure if this size is available individually, but it is a great travel sized bottle. The bottle looks the same as the Dooyoo picture and it's not too wide or tall due to the size of it. The bright green colouring is alright, and that is the colour of the liquid, as the plastic bottle is a kind of cloudy see through bottle. The writing is in white which doesn't stand out all that well against the green and overall I don't think it looks like that fancy or expensive a bottle.
I think the full sized bottle costs around £14 and that it comes in a 150ml bottle, but I can't be overly sure as I didn't buy it in this size.
This is just the consistency of Water, so no thickness to it. Just pop a bit Cotton Wool over the end of this, and tip up so that you get some on the Cotton Wool. As long as the Cotton Pad is a decent dampness then you will get a good sweep of this over your Face.
The scent of this is a nice, light and fresh scent. This smells a little clinical in the same sense that you get from other products that are more aimed at dealing perhaps with Oily or Spot prone skin. After sweeping this over my Face it felt slightly tight, but quite crisp and fresh as well. As the Toner dried the tightness seemed to go away and although my face still felt a little tight, it wasn't anything worse than any other product.
Even a few hours after using this my Skin still looked matted enough, and not Oily and although I didn't find that this made my Spots vanish or that, it seemed to help with the dry areas and the red patches I sometimes get on my cheeks didn't look quite as red.
All in all I find this to be a good product. Perhaps expensive, but no more expensive than any other designer brands out there and this 1 seems to be good for my Oily and Combination Skin.
It's not very often that I find a case that I can diss and well, this is one of them. For the price you pay, the case looks cheap. Not all plastic has to look cheap but this manages to. There is also the practicability aspect; it's hard to control the amount that comes pouring out thanks to the big hole of a mouth.
The lotion from this green bottle has a fitting grassy fragrance; it's not the subtle green tea type of scent but the fresh smell of the field type of scent. It's not very strong in any case and certainly does not linger, so should not pose much of a problem even for those who are not totally in love with this scent.
This lotion is very gentle. And very moisturising. You could say toners from SK-II and Dior are on the intense side (sometimes you may experience stinging sensation) and that those from Biotherm too watery to be sufficiently moisturising. This toning lotion provides a welcome alternative. It also actually provides a rather matte finish, so will also work great during summer months.
The only thing I may raise is the colour of this solution; it kinda too green to be natural. Yes, I understand that the colour is there to evoke freshness and all that and also that it's vegetable but just what kind of vegetable can give that much green? I do wonder...
All in all, this is the one for you if all you're looking for is gentle moisture. This, however, does not provide anything more than that, so if you're looking for more effects, look elsewhere.
I love this stuff.
My skin can be a little bit dry and sometimes reacts to products. Instead of using this as a post cleansing toning lotion, I started using it as a cleansing lotion by itself. It works wonderfully.
It's very light and not at all greasy. When you put it on your skin, you don't feel like there's any residue left. Your skin just feels nicely clean and refreshed afterwards. There's also no drying out effect like you can get with some products. It's just perfect really.
Using it as a cleanser by itself is also much cheaper than using two separate products for cleansing and then toning. No harm for those of us trying to cut back a bit at the moment. That's not to mention the fact that it's a bit faster when you're in a rush in the morning.
In short it's a staple cosmetic product for me and I'd recommend it to everyone.
