I got this Clarisonic gentle hydro cleanser in a beauty box a while ago.
Mine came in a 30ml tube. I always tell myself that I’ll keep miniature products like this one for when I am going on holiday or on a mini break so when it comes to my holidays I have loads of miniatures to choose from and they never get used up so I have decided to use up some of my miniature products to create a bit more space as my shelf of beauty lotions and potions is rather cluttered.
~ Price and availability ~
You can buy this cleanser from House of Fraser for £18.90 for a full size 177ml or 6 fl oz tube. This is reduced from its normal price of £21.00, which is how much it costs from feelunique.com.
~ Packaging ~
The tube it comes in is fairly plain. It is an off-white colour with the Clarisonic logo across the top and an orange square with some white ‘droplets’ in and ‘all/sensitive skin’ underneath in small black lettering.
The name of the product is underneath in black lettering. A lot of the writing on the front of the tube is very small.
The tube sits on its white flip-cap lid.

Clarisonic describe the cleanser, ‘A pH-balanced non-foaming cleanser enriched with antioxidants Japanese Green Tea and Vitamin E’.
The cleanser is to be applied directly to moistened skin or to a damp Clarisonic skin cleansing brush and massaged in a circular motion before being rinsed thoroughly.
The cleanser is a transparent, white colour. It is quite thin in consistency.
I apply the cleanser directly to my face. I do not have Clarisonic’s skin cleansing brush. It feels a little bit odd using a cleanser that doesn’t foam up. It just stays creamy, but it loses its colour once it is on your face and massaged in circular motions so it doesn’t look creamy. It looks as though your face is covered in a clear gel. It rinses off very easily.
It is a nice cleanser to use and after using it my face feels clean and refreshed, but also smoother and my pores appear reduced.
My skin feels a little bit tight after I have rinsed the cleanser off and I do feel as though I need to moisturise my skin after using this cleanser, but I usually do this after cleansing my skin anyway.
The cleanser has a nice, light, clean scent, which isn’t too strong and I don’t notice it on my skin after use.
I have enjoyed using this cleanser, but I don’t think it is one I will buy again. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I am happy with my Clinique cleanser, which I am using at the moment and will probably replace when it runs out.
The cleanser is made in the USA and is paraben free.
I received a 30ml sample of this cleanser when I bought my Clarisonic Mia. This cleanser has been formulated by Robb Akridge who also designed the Clarisonic, it has been formulated specifically to be used with the Clarisonic brushes. The cleanser aims to remove impurities while soothing and comforting the skin. According to Clarisonic, this hydrating, creamy skin cleanser provides natural moisturisation for dry, delicate skin. Olive oil and shea butter help condition and moisturise. Provitamin B5, sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA promote skin's ability to attract and retain moisture. Japanese green tea helps protect against free radicals associated with skin aging. It is paraben-free and pH-balanced.
This cleanser is available direct from Clarisonic or can be purchased in John Lewis or Space NK. It is priced at £21 for 100ml.
I have used this cleanser both with the Clarisonic Mia and without.
The cleanser is pale white in colour and has a light, almost gel like consistency. It feels cooling on the skin and is quite silky to the touch. It does feel quite luxurious on the skin, as it feels soft and moisturising. When used with the fingers it glides over the face, and when used with the Clarisonic it works well with the brush - not dripping or running off. Everything in terms of the feeling of this texture is fine, it isn't tacky to the touch. Unfortunately it smells really musty, like old fashioned cold cream. The fragrance - or lack of - isn't overly pungent, but it's evident nonetheless. Thankfully, it doesn't stay on the skin once it has been washed off.
The cleanser removes make-up well whist moisturising the skin. Another downside of this is that I wouldn't recommend it for removing eye make-up. I tried this once and my eyes stung to high-heaven! So you need to use an additional eye make-up remover prior to this, which adds time to your routine.
The cleanser is easy to wash off the skin and my skin feels soft, clean and supple, not tight and dry. I have not experienced any adverse reaction to this cleanser.
Overall, this is a decent cleanser and I have used up all of the 30ml sample - this took around a week of using it twice a day. I will not be buying this however, simply because it is nothing special in terms of cleansers, it smells unpleasant and the fact it can't be used around the eyes. This cleanser really lets the Clarisonic sonic systems down. Thankfully, they can be used with all cleansers, not just the ones they create.
I award this 3 stars
