Advantages: Removes make-up and moisturises

Disadvantages: Stings the eyes and smells musty

I received a 30ml sample of this cleanser when I bought my Clarisonic Mia. This cleanser has been formulated by Robb Akridge who also designed the Clarisonic, it has been formulated specifically to be used with the Clarisonic brushes. The cleanser aims to remove impurities while soothing and comforting the skin. According to Clarisonic, this hydrating, creamy skin cleanser provides natural moisturisation for dry, delicate skin. Olive oil and shea butter help condition and moisturise. Provitamin B5, sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA promote skin's ability to attract and retain moisture. Japanese green tea helps protect against free radicals associated with skin aging. It is paraben-free and pH-balanced.

This cleanser is available direct from Clarisonic or can be purchased in John Lewis or Space NK. It is priced at £21 for 100ml.

I have used this cleanser both with the Clarisonic Mia and without.
The cleanser is pale white in colour and has a light, almost gel like consistency. It feels cooling on the skin and is quite silky to the touch. It does feel quite luxurious on the skin, as it feels soft and moisturising. When used with the fingers it glides over the face, and when used with the Clarisonic it works well with the brush - not dripping or running off. Everything in terms of the feeling of this texture is fine, it isn't tacky to the touch. Unfortunately it smells really musty, like old fashioned cold cream. The fragrance - or lack of - isn't overly pungent, but it's evident nonetheless. Thankfully, it doesn't stay on the skin once it has been washed off.

The cleanser removes make-up well whist moisturising the skin. Another downside of this is that I wouldn't recommend it for removing eye make-up. I tried this once and my eyes stung to high-heaven! So you need to use an additional eye make-up remover prior to this, which adds time to your routine.

The cleanser is easy to wash off the skin and my skin feels soft, clean and supple, not tight and dry. I have not experienced any adverse reaction to this cleanser.

Overall, this is a decent cleanser and I have used up all of the 30ml sample - this took around a week of using it twice a day. I will not be buying this however, simply because it is nothing special in terms of cleansers, it smells unpleasant and the fact it can't be used around the eyes. This cleanser really lets the Clarisonic sonic systems down. Thankfully, they can be used with all cleansers, not just the ones they create.

I award this 3 stars

Summary: A cleanser which I won't be buying!
