      A lovely cleanser

      I recently reviewed the face scrub in this range, and I am now reviewing the cleanser, as I bought this at the same time as part of a 2 for £5 offer. This offer is currently running in Boots, but at full price this costs £3.99 for a 150ml bottle.

      This cleanser contains ginseng and vitamin c, and promises to cleanse and invigorate the skin. It also contains "bursting beads" to help awaken and refresh your skin first thing in the morning.
      This comes in a light orange coloured bottle with a pump action dispenser. It is bright and fruity looking, and it stands out quite nicely. Inside you can see the cleansing gel, and the dark orange coloured beads are plentiful inside.

      Rich but not thick

      I find I need only a small amount of this cleanser. The gel is quite rich in consistency, but not too thick, and it is easy to lather onto the face. You can feel the beads as you apply this to the skin - although they are soft beads they add texture to the product. And you do need to use a bit of pressure to burst these so the chances are that some of the beads may well go unpopped! It also has a lovely fresh citrus fragrance - it is actually quite subtle which is good as I think if it was too strong it may become a bit unpleasant.

      This washes off very quickly and easily, and leaves the skin feeling really smooth and clean. It also definitely leaves a fresh feeling on the skin as it slightly tingles after use, and even after drying my face it has a very faint, but pleasant tingly feel, that makes my skin feel really fresh and clean. With other cleansers, I often find my skin gets a 'tight' feeling after use, but I have not had that with this cleanser at all which is an added bonus.

      In summary ...
      ~~~~~~~~~~
      Overall I really like this cleanser. It is pleasant and easy to use, had a nice fragrance and really does leave the skin feeling clean and fresh. However I am going to give it four stars as I think at full price it is a bit pricey, considering this is only a 150ml bottle. But overall I would definitely recommend this, especially if you can get it as part of an offer.
      Advantages
      Disadvantages
      A very good face wash
      When it comes to my morning skin care routine I generally opt for some kind of facial wash, and whilst I do like to 'play the field' by testing new products I tend to go back to my old faithful of Clean & Clear.
      Having found my last tube of said item was starting to get a little bit low, I took myself up to my local Superdrug (which is conveniently located at the top of my road) to purchase another tube.
      Once in the store I was all set to pick my usual face wash up when beside it on the shelf stood this - Clean & Clear 'Morning Energy Skin Energising Daily Facial Wash'. What attracted me to this was not only the luring introduction price of £1.89, but also this was an orange scented cleanser with 'bursting beads' and I must admit it did sound quite enticing.
      Having purchased the product and headed home with it I decided to test it out whilst showering later that day. Though I had bought this primarily for using just as a morning face wash I obviously wanted to test out it's effectiveness and see if it actually suited my skin (and also whether to off load it to the husband if it didn't work).
      The facial wash comes housed in a thin and quite sleek looking vessel in the form of an upright standing bottle. The bottle itself is made of a clear 'squeezy' plastic and though is transparent enough to view the product it also has a slight orange hue to it carrying on the citrus theme. Apart from a slight curve on one side towards the neck, the bottle remains quite basic in appearance but is actually very aesthetically pleasing, mainly due to the brightness of the orange as it stands out immediately and catches the eye for attention.
      The product itself has a slightly slimy appearance when viewing through the bottle though it is also quite entrancing watching all the little beads float about whilst shaking the bottle about ( I found I do this every time I have used it!).
      Using the wash is quite simple as this is no boring tube - oh no, here we have a very easy to dispense pump nozzle placed directly on top. After pressing the nozzle a few times to activate it the wash emits at an average speed and I found that two 'pumps' seemed enough to cover my face and neck area.
      The texture is exactly how I imagined given it's appearance whilst still in the packaging and has a bizarre oily/jelly feel to it which isn't the norm when it comes to facial washes (in my experience anyway), whilst the fragrance is bold and fresh and makes such a change from the usual generic scent.
      The consistency is far thicker than it appears and though I found I needed two applications I think I could have gotten away with one (read on..).
      On applying to dampened skin I found it literally melted in and though I couldn't actually feel the beads 'bursting' I was aware of a more intense citrus aroma after a minute or two of massaging into my face and neck.
      Whilst my face felt fresh and clean almost instantly I found the wash quite difficult to rinse away, hence me saying one application would have probably sufficed, and the oily feel felt uncomfortable as I tried rinsing it away as it just didn't seem to budge!
      Eventually, after a good few minutes, my skin was face wash free and I have to say it felt fantastic. There was no dry or tautness and it not only felt refreshed but hydrated too - *impressed* so far.
      Recommended?
      I have been using this now for several weeks and not just on a morning but also sometimes on an evening (it does actually state it is suitable for evenings too) and I have to say my skin has felt really refreshed and in good condition.
      It's caused no soreness or dry patches and because it contains the 'bursting beads' of Vitamin C and Ginseng it also makes it a fantastic product for waking up your skin first thing in a morning due to the lovely, fresh citrus fragrance.
      Miscellaneous~
      *Oil free
      *Available in one size of 150ml
      *RRP of around the £3 mark (I purchased whilst on introductory offer)
      *Made by Johnson & Johnson
      *For further information contact www.clean-and-clear.co.uk
      Highly recommended by me for fresh clean skin, though don't use more than one application at a time unless you have a lot of hours on your hands free for rinsing it away!
