I wanted a wash that wasn't expensive but wasn't just a plain wash either (If that makes any sense). I saw this one by Clean&Clear, and was rather attracted to the orange colour of the bottle, and the many tiny 'bursting beads' inside. Clean & Clear also have an energising scrub to go with the energising wash, and a skin brightening wash and scrub, which are in yellow bottles. I couldn't decide between the energising wash and the skin brightening one, but I liked the look of the orange wash more. Plus the energising wash contains vitamin C anyway, which helps to brighten the skin, so I figured (if they work) both washes would do a similar job.
The Morning Energy Skin Energising Daily Facial Wash is oil free, and is made with Vitamin C and Ginseng. The wash itself is gel-like in texture, and contains lots of tiny orange and yellow beads. These beads are supposed to burst open on contact with the skin, to wake you up and invigorating the skin. It's formula is also meant to be gentle for everyday use, either morning or night depending upon your preference. Although the bottle is tinted with an orange colour, the plastic is still clear so you can plainly see how much of the wash you have left. The bottle has a pump dispenser lid, so you can easily control how much of the wash is dispensed. You get 150ml for around 4 pounds, which isn't bad, especially as you don't need a lot.
My overall opinion of this face wash is good. You simply need to wet your face as normal, and then dispense less than 1 full pump into your hands (half a pump is enough), then lather. This creates a nice creamy lather, that doesn't feel harsh on the skin. I'm not sure if the beads really do burst... But I can't feel them on my skin when I'm massaging the wash in. The wash has a nice citrus scent to it, and leaves a cooling effect on the skin. I personally find this cooling effect rather pleasant as I really feel like it has helped to freshen and wake up my face. Once I've washed it all off and patted dry, my face feels really soft and awake. The vitamin C helps to brighten my complexion for the day ahead too.
This face wash hasn't broken me out so far, and is gentle on the areas of my skin which is prone to breakouts. I read some reviews of people complaining that it didn't do anything for their skin, nor did it help to clear their existing breakouts. Not that this product claims to do anything for spots, but I did check the ingredients, and none of them I recognise as being breakout-fighting ingredients. All the product claims to do is clean, refresh and awaken your skin. Which in my opinion, this wash does do. The cooling sensation it gives definitely does make your skin feel refreshed, and wakes you up on early mornings. Also it does leave your skin feeling soft and clean. I've only been using this for about a week, but even on my slightly dry skin, I've not experienced this drying my skin or feeling tight after I've used this.
Ok, first of all, why do Dooyoo keep using pictures of a different product rather than the one I've provided? It's very annoying. The above picture is actually of the Brightening wash, not the Energising wash that I'm reviewing.
I bought this purely and simply because it seemed like a good buy at £2.44 for the 150ml bottle in Morrisons. There were 3 different types to choose from, the other 2 being Brightening and Shine Control. I'm not sure why I opted for this one in particular out of the three but this is what I ended up with, and I also bought the matching scrub for the same price.
It comes in a see-through plastic bottle which is like the one in the picture only it's orange rather than yellow. Because it's see-through you can always easily see how much you have left and it has a press top dispenser which makes it really easy to use.
It is a clear gel textured substance with a medium consistency, neither too runny nor too thick. It has lots of little yellow and orange beads in it which are described as 'bursting beads', they're not exfoliating like with a face scrub, instead they're supposed to burst when you press on them. It has a fresh citrus scent but it also smells very chemical.
When I press down the top all the way it gives me much more of the wash than I need so I try to only press it a little bit to get the right amount and make it last longer. When I massage it into my face it makes a thick creamy lather which feels nice and soft on my skin. It rinses off easily, but be careful around your hairline as the beads can get stuck in your hair!
After using the wash my skin feels really clean and fresh but it does have that horrible tight feeling like it's been stripped of all it's oils. It does return to normal after moisturising but it doesn't give me the confidence that it's gentle enough on my skin. I'm not sure what energising effects this is supposed to have on the skin but I haven't noticed anything, my skin is just clean and fresh and that's it. Overall I'm not really impressed with it and I think it's a little harsh for my skin.
