Clearasel deep pore treatment scrub is my choice of face wash and has been for the 3 or 4 years. I used to suffer from mildly bad skin and tried literally every face scrub to try resolve my issue. Those who have or have had bad skin will side with me when I say you literally try everything to try get results!
Many face scrubs left my skin a bit shiny and gave it a glazed look, some other actually caused my face to look more red. Clearasel scrub was the perfect combination of rough scrubbing and smooth finish with no shininess. The scrub is blue in colour with small bits in it to exfoliate and leave the skin fresh and clean.
The scrub washes deep into the pores and when used twice daily gives great results within a couple of days. When my skin was bad I used the scrub all the time to try and tame the blemishes, and now my skin is a lot clearer I still use the scrub as a prevention to keep my face clean and clear.
The tubes cost about £5 a pop so they aren't exactly cheap, but well worth it. The solidness at the top of tube makes it hard to get the last of the scrub out so I often have to cut the tube in half to get the remainder out!
Overall It's an effective scrub for keeping your face fresh and clean without causing any skin irritation whilst exfoliating. It is pretty much unscented, there is a slight hint of scent but not enough for me to even tell you what I smells like. I would recommend it to people with good and bad skin as a way of keeping clean. When used in part of a daily cleaning cycle it really gives good results. Obviously everyone's skin is different, but it's definitely worth trying if you are struggling to find a decent face cleaning product.
That is about all I can say about the scrub, not much more I can add unfortunately!!
I bought this a while back to help get rid of spots / acne. For what it is I actually really liked it; it makes you feel really clean after using it and it did seem to make my face smoother and reduce the redness / size of some of my spots.
As a daily scrub it is one of the best that I have tried, but I find it hard to get in the schedule of using them, for me I find it takes effort to wash my face with it in the mornings and evenings and it takes quite a bit of effort to rinse it away afterwards as well, which caused me to skip using on occasions which eventually lead to me fading away from using it.
Overall I did like using it and did see results on spots and on general to my skin. If you do have 5 minutes free in the mornings and evenings to wash your face with it then definitely worth it.
I have always had to exfoliate my skin, or else I end up with oily, spotty skin, and a dry, flaky nose! Sometimes I think my skin still thinks its a teenager!!
I recently started using Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Scrub instead of my normal facewash, as I was starting to get more spots then usual, and I used Clearasil when I was an acne ridden teenager, and I found it to be quite good then.
I had to make sure that I used a scrub not a wash, as I had to make sure I exfoliated my face as well as cleansed it and treated it for spots. I found the deep pore treatment scrub when I was in Boots, and it looked perfect for what I needed, so I decided to give it a go.
The scrub comes in a triangular tube, with a flip cap bottom to it and the scrub inside is a bluey-white colour and you can see the scrubbing particles in the scrub itself. These particles are a darker blue in colour.
When you mix this facewash with a small amount of water, it spreads and scrubs really easily on the face and lathers up quite nicely, but not so much that you feel like you have just stuck your face in a bubble machine. I always found the face scrubs that lathered too much, didn't do so much of a good job at the actually scrubbing.
When you are scrubbing your face, you can feel the scrubbing particles working, but they do not feel to harsh, and I have never felt like they are ripping my skin off, which is always a good thing I feel! When it comes to rinsing, there is no problem there either, as I found this gently just washes off the skin with a few splashes of water. I always add an extra splash, just to be sure though!
I didn't expect this product to work very quickly, but I could see differences in how my skin looked after just a few days. It looked cleaner, clearer and less oily. It also dealt perfectly with the dry skin on my nose, and now my nose is smooth and soft, which I am very happy about.
The scrub doesn't dry my skin out, which is another thing I was worried about as I do have sensitive skin, which can be dryed out by products quite easily. I only use this once a day, and use a facewash or make up wipes in the evening, so as to ensure that I do not over exfoliate my face and cause problems of a different kind.
I have now been using this for around 3 - 4 weeks, and it really is doing well. My skin looks glowing and I have recieved compliments on how well my skin is looking. I have also started using the Clearasil Day Night Defence Lotion in the past couple of weeks, and this works well along side the deep pore treatment scrub in keeping my skin in tip top condition.
I have used about half of the scrub in the time I have owned this, so if you use it once a day like I do, this should last you around 2 months, which I think is a great amount of time for a face scrub to last. You only need a small blob, around the size of a 20p coin, to scrub your hole face, so you can be sure that this will last quite some time, making it a really good buy.
I bought this product in Boots, but you can also buy it in Superdrug and in some of the major supermarkets. A really good product, I recommend that anyone with problem skin buy this, as it will make a difference.
5 out of 5 stars from me, 100% recommended.

Before using this product, I had been using the regular clearasil cleanser. I found that this was not having much effect on my skin though so decided to try something a bit stronger.
The clearasil ultra range promises clearer skin in just 3 days and contains stronger ingredients than their regular range. It is also more expensive.
As I was using this product the rough particles in the scrub did remove dead skin cells and my skin was left quite red from the scrubbing but very clean. It did however also leave my skin incredibly dry.
For once this seemed to be a product that lives up to its promise, in three days my skin was definitely much clearer.
I did however experience a big problem with the product. Although it cleansed my skin wonderfully, I also found it to be incredibly drying and after a few days I was left with patches of very dry flaky skin on my face which could not be covered evenly with make-up and looked dreadful. It took several weeks of intensive moisturiser and I had to stop using the product for my skin to return to normal.
Although this product does cleanse skin very well, even when I used an intensive moisturiser with it, I still found it had the same drying effect on my skin so would strongly recommend anyone to try out a small test area before applying to your whole face.
If this product does not have adverse effects for your skin it does work wonders.
I used this a while ago before deciding that Tesco's own make was just as effective and half as expensive. This was one of the better products I tried from the Clearasil Ultra range as one product - the pads, were very uncomfortable to use as they contained so much alcohol and chemicals that it stung my face!
This product however was good, and it had a unique texture too, which helped to cleanse my face and give it a thorough and deep wash. This product isn't cheap and costs around £5.50 at supermarkets. The tube is of 125ml volume and does last a good length of time - perhaps over a month if you are using it for the recommended 'twice a day'.
The product comes in a nice shiny tube, which matches the Clearasil Ultra colours of purple and blue. It's quite an odd mix but looks quite nice! A large Clearasil Ultra logo is on the front with 'Deep Pore Treatment Scrub' below. It's certainly not cheap, but acts to prevent things such as spots, blackheads and apparently reduces redness too. I have some facial redness but this certainly didn't help to combat it!
It promises visibly clearer skin in just 3 days. I didn't get spots whilst using this - maybe the odd few. It worked well, but only just as well as much cheaper products so I wouldn't think it's the best just because it's from Clearasil and costs so much.
You can flip open the lid and pour a bit on your hands. I like to apply it to a wet face as it scrubs in better. The liquid inside is a pale blue with little gritty bits within. This helps to scrub away dirt from your face and gives it a good deep clean through pores in your skin. The liquid does lather up slightly into a foam but it isn't overly excessive unless you are using too much of the stuff.
It does seem to absorb quite well into the skin as the bubbles disappear and your face has a slightly different texture after using it. I always feel refreshed and cleaner after using this, which is quite a nice feeling. It seems to really give my face a good clean and did help keep it pretty clear. I did not notice much reduction in redness if any at all, so I wouldn't say it's any better than other facial scrubs such as those made by Tesco. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product based purely on the rip off price, and the fact you can get a just as good product for less than half the price. Check out my Tesco Deep Cleansing Face Wash review if you like!
Thanks for reading!
Another Spot treatment that i'm trying. I have so many in my cupboard, but each one seems to work for about half the bottle, and then nothing seems to shift the Spots anymore. I have yet to find something that does the job all the time.
I find that Clearasil products don't seem quite as harsh on my skin as Oxy. I don't have overly sensitive skin, but my cheeks can get a bit dry and red especially after using Spot Busting products.
This normally costs around £4 I think in Asda, but was on offer for £3 the other week. Since I hadn't tried it, the price was alright and it looked the part then I bought it. This comes in a 150ml tube which looks like it will last a decent lenght of time.
The tube looks alright. It is blue but with lighter purple pearl shiny colour on it as well. It stands out against the other Clearasil products as they are mainly just blue in colour. I think the ultra range hasn't been out that long, but it is more expensive than the normal Clearasil range and I think it is meant to do an even better job at keeping spots away.
You just need a little blob of this. It is quite thick and if you rub this between your palms to thin it out a bit and then rub over your face. This is more of a Gel with lots of Gritty bits through it. I only use a Scrub now and again, as I tried to use another Scrub every 2nd day and it just seemed to irritate my face.
This smelt clean and that bit clinical. I think it smelt a bit minty as well, but not that minty. Just a tingly scent to this.
This washed off easily enough and my cheeks didn't feel dry and tight afterwards. My face felt fresh, clean and a little bit soft.
So did this work with my face? It done alright. It seemed to take the redness from the larger Spots and although they didn't Vanish completely, then seemed smaller and not that bad looking. I haven't noticed any further crop of Spots appearing, but i'm only about a quarter through the bottle.
Seems to be doing an alright job for me - so far.
Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Scrub is my favorite of all the Clearasil products. I have tried quite a few face scrubs and they all vary quite a bit in price. You can get the supermarket brand type ones, or the luxury brand ones and there is quite a big gap between them. I find clearasil sits just about the supermarket branded ones. It is definitely worth shopping around as the price will change depending on where you get it. But the little bit extra price is reflected in the great job it does in my opinion.
The scrub comes in a plastic squeezy bottle. The end, the nozzle has a flip on and off lid on the top to stop too much mess getting everywhere. The tube and nozzle are well manufactured and allow you to squeeze out exactly the amount you require, not making you squeeze out too much and waste it like I find with a lot of products.
The product itself is a white creamy paste, with blue hard particles in. The smell is non memorable and non offensive, nothing which can really put you off or leave your face with a horrible smell.
The paste is easy to apply to your face and I find a little bit goes a long way and you actually have to use much less than you think, making it good value for money.
You rub it in, give you face a good scrub with it and then wash it off with warm water and a flannel.
My face has very sensitive skin and this product does not upset it or make me break out in dry patches. The product does a fantastic job in eliminating my greasy areas and keeping me grease free all day long. If I am then going out at night I have another face wash before I go out again, so it is more of a 12 hour product than a 18 hour product.
I find this great for, minimising black heads/ stopping them build up, and keeping my grease at bay. The price is well worth it!
The product comes
I was introduced to Clearasil by my brother who had skin troubles from a early age, however I was lucky enough to not have this. My brother swore by Clearasil for all skin types and troubles and loved how it never dried out his skin.
He gave me a bottle of Clearasil ultra deep pore treatment scrub to use. Okay my first impression of the product was that it had quite a strong smell to it, which made me a bit wary. But however, when I used it that night, it made my skin feel clean, refreshed and hydrated! The beads that are in the scrub really exfoliate your skin and leave it tingling and feeling vibrant.
I have always used facial scrubs because I love the feeling of my skin afterwards. This product comes in a large upright tube and can be bought at around £4 a bottle, but however keep a eye out in Boots for when its 3 for 2 or another offer ( which also means Boots points!) But even though its quite expensive it goes a long way.
It has a flip top that makes it easy to dispense the scrub onto your hands even when you are in shower and blinded by shampoo and conditioner.
Whenever I use it, I tend to pay a lot of attention on my nose area and forehead as this is where breakouts tend to occur, and I rub in circular motions on my skin which leaves it smooth and glowing for the day ahead !
I would recommend this product and I would buy it again!
Unfortunately, I have troublesome teenage skin, so I'm always on the look out for a new product that might actually make a difference. At £5.29, this is quite expensive for a facial scrub, but I thought I'd give it a try due to the 'clearer skin in 3 days' claim.
First impressions, I like the smell. It's not a particularly pretty smell, or a smell that lingers, it just smells fresh and clean, which makes my face feel fresh and clean.
After using this a few times, twice a day, I did notice a difference in my skin. It dries up spots well, although I still did get a few new ones, and it does visibly improve blackheads. I think that this is due to the nice little scrubby beads in the face wash, as these help clean your pores deeper.
I actually have quite oily greasy skin, so this is an ideal product for me. However, I wouldn't recommend it for someone with dry skin, as in order to get rid of spots, it has to be quite drying.
One more tip, I have recently started using this with the 'Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Lotion', and I have noticed results twice as good as using one or the other on it's own. So if you have oily troublesome skin. I would recommend using this facial scrub and the matching lotion to clear up spots within a couple of weeks.
I have been using Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Scrub as part of my daily skincare routine for about 3 years now. My skin can be quite oily and spot prone and this is the perfect daily cleanser for me. I make sure I use it every morning and night to stop blackheads and spots forming. As a woman in my mid twenties I stopped using Clearasil when I was about 21 as I thought it was just for teenagers. I went on to try and find a more 'grown up' skin care routine and tried brands such as Lancome, Clinique etc. As good as these products were I just wasn't completely happy with the results as I felt spots and blackheads creeping back onto my skin. After failing to find a new routine I went onto this Clearasil face scrub which is an updated version of what I used when I was younger and to this day it is still the most effective skin care product I have used. The beads gently exfoliate the skin removing remaining traces of make up, oil and dirt which can lead to clogged pores and spots. The formula kills spots and reduces redness and well as unclogging the pores and shifting those stubborn blackheads. This products is not to harsh which makes it perfect to use every morning and night and leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh. It also stops your skin from getting shiny throughout the day by keeping oil at bay! I'd recommend this products to ANYONE who has spot prone or oily skin, not just teenagers.
I discovered this when my younger sister started using this and when asked, she explained that its poperties worked brilliantly well for helping clear blocked pores and getting rid of blackheads.
So I started using hers and was pleasantly suprised by how much less visible my blackheads looked straight away. The consistency is quite thick, although I found there were not as many hard bits in as other scrubs. The smell was nice and fresh, almost menthol, that made my skin feel a little bit tingly after use. My skin also felt very smooth, especially around my T-Zone area.
However, I got quite excited about this and went and purchased a second tub. I don't know ow much I expected it to cost but for a full size tube it was over £5! I bought it anyway to replace what I had used up (it turns out my sister got hers on special offer). To make matters worse, now when I look in the mirror after use I can no longer see the fantastic difference it made before, my pores look no different :-( . I dont know how i thought this particular product would help with blackheads when we all know him impoosible they are to get rid of.
Just another one of these products that seem life changing at first - but after a few weeks use stop working.
I came about this product via my sister. She had bought three of them as they were on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. When she used it she was so impressed she decided to give me the free one to try.
I have always used facial scrubs rather than soap as I find conventional soap always leaves me feeling taut and dry. I tend to use a facial scrub in the shower each morning.
This product comes in a large tube and I have used mine everyday for around a month and still have at least half the tube left. It is quite expensive at around £4 a tube but I think it would easily last you two months so I feel its good value.
The tube has a flip top lid and you simply squeeze a small amount on to your fingertips. As with any other facial scrub you then scrub it into your face. This particular product is designed to clean your pores so I always pay extra attention to the nose area.
I have been fortunate in life and never really suffered with spots or black heads but I did notice after just a few days using this product my skin did look much clearer.
The scrub has quite a few "bits" in so it really does feel like it is exfoliating your skin and I simply wash it off using the shower, no need to scrub it away with a flannel.
The scrub is a pale blue colour with brownie grains and doesn't really smell of anything. Once washed off your skin feels very clean and instantly smooth. The scrub is invigorating and definately puts some glow back in to your skin. Once dried off my skin still feels lovely and smooth and you aren't left with that feeling of tightness you often get with plain soap.
I would throughly recommend this product and it is definately one I would buy again.
