I bought this product because I was very worried about skin damage from the sun and wanted something to prevent further damage. This product was excellent when it came to moisturizing my skin and preventing damage. It has a very light scent to it which isn't overpowering and isn't too thick or heavy. The only complaint that I have about it is that it comes in a jar and doesn't have a nozzle to administer, which means when you get to the end of the bottle, it's a pain to get out. It's also thicker than Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer, which made it a slightly difficult transition. This moisturizer also has SPF, which is another reason why I bought it. Although the SPF is on the low side, only 15, it's better than nothing. I was also told that it works best with other Clinique "even better" products, but I don't know exactly how true that is.
When I was in my teens, I suffered from acne which was quite bad. I only had it on my jaw-line, nowhere else. Fast forward a few years, and I have some scars (which are slowly fading!) along my jawline, which used to itch quite a bit. About eight months ago, I bought a cream called 'Redness Solutions' by Clinique which cost me £34. Never would I have imagined spending so much money on a beauty product. Although, the product worked very well indeed, and once it had done its job, and I had finished the pot, I wanted another cream by Clinique.
I have annoying skin; it's dry in places, prone to spots in others, and can be oily in other places. I also have an uneven skin tone. So, finding face creams is usually a difficult task for me, as I want to moisurise the dry parts, but don't want to over-moisturise the oily parts, and don't want to use a cream that causes spots.
I came across this cream from Clinique called 'Even Better' which is a 'skin tone correcting moisturizer SPF 20'. It cost me £32 from Boots for a pot of 50ml. The cream is allergy tested, 100% fragrance free, for all skin tones, and for skin types one,two and three.
The aim of the product acording to the information on the box ist that is gets rid of 'dark spots' and 'discolourations' and protects the skin from future darking. Given 4-6 weeks, the cream also gives a more even skin tone as well as hydrating and brightening up the skin.
Applying the cream is very simple. Make sure you have a clean and make-up free face, and apply the cream, using a small amount (less than a 5p coin), and using your fingers to massage it in. You need to apply it two times a day.
~* So how did I get on with this product? *~
The cream is white in colour, and looks very thick. However, when I put it on my skin, I was suprised at how 'light' it felt. In a way, it felt as though it had 'woke my skin up' and made it feel really fresh. My skin looked really bright, and didn't look 'really dull' like it had before I had applied the cream. My skin also looked really clear and well moisturised.
At first I was quite worried that it would cause spots as a lot of products give me spots. I also have sensitive skin and so I was worried that it would make my redness worse. The lady in Boots told me that it wouldn't affect my skin (in terms of make it worse, give me spots etc) and she was right - it doesn't!
I was really amazed with this cream!! The minute I put it on, it was easily absorbed. It made my skin look and feel 'alive'. My skin feels smoother and looks plump. A few times I have gone downstairs after putting this cream on and my mum and sister have told me 'your skin looks good today', and I say 'see I told you it was worth spending that £32!'.
The cream is said to take 1-2 weeks before you see any changes, although I saw immediate changes. At the moment, I am on week 3 and my skin looks great! This cream really does do what is says on the ...pot!
Each week (up to week 6) you will see lots of great changes. However, it does state on the instructions to 'stay with it and you will keep seeing results', so that is what I intend to do.
I am quite self consious of my skin and never leave the house without wearing any foundation. However, with this magical cream it gives me such great, instant results that I feel that I could go out without any make up. So I would therefore say that this product is great as it gives you confidence.
I like the fact that it gives instant results; I havn't seen a cream like it, it really is like magic!
As for value for money I think that this product is great. Before, I would never have imagined spending such a ridiculous amount of money on a cream and would have considered it to be a waste of money. Although, having experienced first hand how great this product is and how well it works, I am very pleased with my purchase. The last Clinique pot ( a different product) I bought, was the same size as this pot, and I apply the same amount with this one as the last one; the last pot lasted me six months and so this pot should also last me six months. So when you think about it, £32 for six months (which works out at about £5 per month) is actually quite good value for money!
I like the packaging. The cream comes in an expensive looking little pot and is white in colour with a 'silver metal lid'. I like the top of the lid as it has a 'kind of mirror' on the top. I don't know if it suppose to be a mirror, but I can see myself in the lid and so I use it to watch where I am putting the cream.
If you have: dark spots, acne scars, uneven tone, try this cream! I know that it is expensive, but believe me it really does work, and I am the kind of person who does not like spending their money!
Thanks for reading!
