This is a product i had wanted to try for ages but was put off by the price (£32 for 50ml) Glamour quite frequently have clinique give aways so the last time they did i picked up a few for £2 each
My"sample" was a 30ml tube and not a tub like the product normally comes in.I prefer this to the tub that it normally comes in and its a more travel friendly size. Plus i cant really complain with the price i paid. You can see the product through the packaging and i think the pink/silver looks appealing-something you would pick up and look at in the shops.
Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place-a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One 'drink' and skin looks and feels happier, healthier.
Ive only used this in the normal way ie washed my face and applied on top.I don't use this every day either more like one a week. I used it every couple of days in December because my skin felt dryer/more red toned due to working in colder weather.
This applys more like a gel which sinks into your skin. Its described as not having a smell and i would say that this is accurate
My skin is dry and it soaks this up.I think it would last longer on normal skin.
Do i recommend
I think this does give your skin a nice instant boost, Its not terribly long lasting but i have really dry skin so maybe if i used it more often my skin would feel better for longer. The price is expensive but it does last a long time and if you can get it in a glamour magazine then i say empty the shelfs.
I received a sample of the moisture surge thirst relief moisturiser as part of a free gift with a clinique purchase. Usually it is not something I would consider buying as the price tag is most definitely at the premium end. The sample was quite a generous size and I was first impressed by the stylish packaging-silver screw lid and a peachy pink container. It is a good shape to be able to get all the very last remnants of the moisturiser out of the tub so there is no waste. There is a very subtle scent to the moisturiser, not overpowering and rather pleasant.
The texture of the moisturiser is more gel like than creamy and applies very smoothly plus not much product is needed to cover the entire face. It soaks into the skin very quickly and doesn't leave any residual marks like some moisturisers can. My skin is a combination of oily with some dry patches and eczema and while this moisturiser is great for sensitive skin I did feel that the drier areas of skin could still have used a little more moisture.
This moisturiser is perhaps best used at night as a rich moisturiser as it is not the best base for makeup-foundation has a tendency to drag a little over the top and not blend smoothly. I found that the use of a little serum under this moisturiser makes aggreat combination and my skin feels very comfortable.
This is a very nice treat for skin but I don't think I would choose to use it as an everyday product as the price is a little high for me and I prefer a smoother base for my makeup.
This product is the best thing I have ever used to hydrate dry skin. As someone who previously had very dry skin due to ezcema, this product is the best moisturiser I have found. The texture is more gel like than cream which makes it easier to apply as it glides on beautifully. A tiny amount can be used on drier skin daily but I love to pop it in the fridge to provide a cooling mask after steaming my face. Its also great for sun burn on the face.
The texture of the gel is light which means it holds itself together so if you put a thick layer on it doesn't drip everywhere like heavy creams. The product dries quickly and soaks into the skin very well without leaving a greasy or oily layer so you can pop your make up on about 5 minutes after applying. There is no scent - and its baby pink in colour!
I would definitely recommend for any skin type (even oily complexions need a little moisture) but particularly to someone with drier skin.
I received this moisturiser after asking for Clinique products for Christmas. I received the 50ml jar as part of a Clinique box set, containing other moisture surge products.
As always Clinique products are elegant in their appearance with simply designed jars and packaging. This product comes in the clear jar with the silver screw-top lid. The moisturising gel itself is of a peach colour. There is a simple description of the products on the back of the jar giving you some information of what the product does and how best to apply it.
Use of product
This product is of a gel consistency and is of a good thickness, it is thick enough to not run off your fingers as you try to get some out of the container, but is thin enough to be easily applied to your skin. I have found that you only need a very small amount of the moisturiser to cover your face, I use a thin layer the size of the tip of my index finger to moisturise my face. The gel applies easily to your face and glides over your skin. It sinks into your skin quickly and feels dry to the touch almost instantly. Once the moisturiser has been applied your skin feels very soft and supple and does not leave a shine on your skin. I have also found that over the course of the day a shine does not appear on your skin either.
I tend to have very dry cheeks, which can be quite red after a shower and this moisturiser leaves them feeling soft and smooth, calming down the redness after about 20 minutes of applying.
Clinique is a high end beauty product which comes with a price tag but I get round this by asking for products as gifts. My other half has assured me that the gift set he got me for Christmas was a good buy compared to the price of the individual elements. This moisturiser is around £32 for a 50ml jar, but it will last a long time as you use very little on a daily basis and I will definitely be saving up for a new jar when this one runs out. I am an avid fan of Clinique products and this is a new favourite of mine.
