Advantages: Looks natural, healthy dewy glow, oil free, stays on pretty well, applies easily, non-fragile bottle
Disadvantages: Nothing for me - shade range is slightly limited so some people may have difficulty matching theirs
I usually wear foundation most days (Estee Lauder Double Wear is my favourite), but I like to have a bottle of tinted moisturiser in my makeup bag for those days when I just want to put something on quickly to brighten up my complexion but don't need full makeup. I absolutely love the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser, so I thought the Moisture Surge tinted moisturiser would definitely be worth a try. I bought this from Boots around Christmas time and it costs £21.50.
=== Packaging ===
The tinted moisturiser comes in a simple peachy pink plastic bottle with a silver lid. It contains 30 ml. I think the plastic bottle makes it look cheaper than a foundation in a glass bottle, but this doesn't bother me at all in this case, because it is practical. I like the fact it is a lightweight plastic with no risk of breaking because I like to take this with me when travelling or sometimes take it in my gym bag to put on after swimming when I need to freshen up but can't be bothered to put a full face of makeup on. The opening of the bottle is quite thin, so it is easy to squeeze a small bit out and you don't risk squirting out too much and wasting it.
=== Application ===
I find that the best way to apply this tinted moisturiser is with my fingers and to rub it straight into my bare skin after cleansing and moisturising. It blends in extremely easily, seeming to melt effortlessly into the skin. I don't need to use a huge amount as a little goes a long way and it is easy to blend it over to cover a larger area.
A few times I have also tried applying this with a brush, as I figure that a tinted moisturiser is basically just a light foundation, and I use a brush to put my foundation on. However for some reason I really find it looks a lot better when rubbed in with fingers. The brush makes it look a bit less natural in my opinion. I have also tried it with primer underneath and this also looked a little bit strange - I think because the tinted moisturiser is meant to slightly sink into the skin, and primer puts a barrier up, making it rest on the top. It does feel somewhat moisturising if I put it directly on my skin, but I wouldn't forgo a proper moisturiser and use only this. I definitely see this as makeup rather than a moisturiser.
As with all Clinique products, this is hypoallergenic and it has not irritated my skin at all. I can be quite sensitive and sometimes I do get reactions to the odd product which makes my skin red or brings me out in bumps. I have never suffered anything like that from any Clinique product, which is one of the reasons why I love this brand.
=== Wear ===
This Moisture Surge tinted moisturiser gives a very natural look, evening out the complexion and giving a slightly dewy finish which provides a healthy glow. I am normally wary of anything with a dewy finish as my skin can get oily and dewy products can slide off or make my skin look greasy. However I am pleased to report I have not really had any of that sort of problem with this. It is oil free and doesn't cause my skin to get oilier. Clinique state it is suitable for all skin types, which means anything from very dry (Clinique type 1) to very oily (Clinique type 4). I am a Clinique type 3 so I did trust that it would be fine for me.
It stays on quite well throughout the day, although it is definitely not as transfer resistant as my normal foundation. I find that if I have a cold and am using a lot of tissues, the tissues will end up rubbing away the tinted moisturiser from around my nose or eyes, or wherever I am using them. If I wear this all day I do have to retouch it a bit if I want it perfect in the evening.
It is great for a simple, clean and natural look. It is definitely not obvious that you are wearing makeup so I would recommend it to anyone who likes the no makeup look, but just wants their skin to look a bit more awake and brighter. It would be ideal for any teenage girls who are not allowed to wear makeup at school but don't want to go in with a bare pasty face!
I am really pleased with the results I can get from this, as it seems to immediately wake up my skin and make me look healthier even if I get up looking exhausted. It is not particularly full coverage so if you have any blemishes you would need to put concealer on them as the tinted moisturiser may not be enough. I do need to put a bit of undereye concealer on with this, as the tinted moisturiser alone won't completely erase dark circles.
It is also worth mentioning it has SPF 15 so does give a bit of sun protection. SPF 15 is enough for me most of the time. I would only need something higher if it is really hot or I am on holiday.

This comes in six shades and I use shade 1, the palest. It is a good colour match for me and I think it seems to have slightly more of a pink base than a yellow base.
You can buy this from Clinique's website or from shops such as Boots, House of Fraser, Debenhams, John Lewis or other department stores with Clinique counters.
Don't forget that it's best to buy during a Clinique Bonus Time event as they give out really nice goodie bags with 6 or 7 good sized miniatures products when you buy 2 things. I love Bonus Time and I always wait for it if I need to buy something from Clinique!
===Over all ===
This is a great product which comes in handy when I want something quick to use and it gives great results. As I don't use it every day, I still have some left in my bottle which I bought about 7 months ago, so I consider it good value as it has lasted well.
Summary: Get the no makeup look!
