~~Current Price & Additional Information~~
You can find it in very few places only because it seems to have been discontinued :( There are an abundance of excellent reviews for it, so perhaps they'll bring back this product... :(
Isododecane, Water, Alcohol Denat, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Polysilicone-11, Disyeardimonium Hectorite, Hamaelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Salicylic Acid, Lamnaria Saccharina Extract, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, DI-C12-18 Alkyl Dimonium Chloride, Sucrose, Coconut Acid, Propylene Carbonate, Polyquaternium-10, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Polyethylene, Sodium Salicylate, Polymethylsilses-Quioxane, Phenoxy-Ethanol.
It comes in a lilac, squishy tube that is about 9.5cm long. The cap is around 1.5cm long and is silver in colour. The tube makes it really easy to squeeze out the amount that you want, especially since it can be pretty drying if you put too much on. You get 15ml in each tube.
Whilst it may not eradicate pores, it does do what it says and reduces the appearance of them. It comes out as a translucent white cream and goes on very clear. The product smells like alcohol and can be harsh on the skin. I put only a little on the area that I want to cover since if I put just a little too much, it starts drying out my skin quite badly. Used in the amount that is suitable for my skin though, it mattes the skin very effectively. It says that it can be used under or over makeup but I've not tried this yet actually. Given that it makes the skin so matt, I would have guessed that it would make a good base. The product disappears really quickly so if you do want to use it under makeup, it doesn't take up much extra time.
The skin does seem more even with the pores looking smaller, but after a few hours, I noticed that the pores would become more visible and rear their ugly heads at me again :( I never expected it to perform miracles so I wasn't disappointed about this at all! The price is pretty OK for this product given that I've paid a bit more than £11.50 for an eyeliner, but I would want to find a product that doesn't feel so harsh on the skin in the future instead of relying on this.
A pretty effective product. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to use this for dry skin - I use this on my oily T-zone and have found that using a bit too much dries out my skin instantly to the point of even causing some flakiness = EW. Therefore it puzzles me that they would recommend it for all skin types. For oily skin it makes the skin really matt however and makes pores look smaller. You only need a tiny amount as well, so it does last quite long as well. Overall I would give it 4 stars since it is really drying if you use a little too much!
I have very strange skin , slightly olive in colour, very dry around parts of my face ,yet greasy and full of oil making it a nightmare to look after and gives me a little complex too.
I love clinique products, have been using them since my teens. Clinique products cost a small fortune and i would never pay the price if i did not believe in them.
Clinique pore minimizer t-zone shine control belongs to the group of clinique pore range. The pore range is suitable for people with oily skin that prone to spots. There are four products in this range that i know of and i use two of them everyday first being this clinique pore minimiser t-zone shine control.
A tube of clinique pore minimizer t-zone shine control costs around £11.99. I buy this from the clinique website or if i am out ill pop into debenhams and buy it there at the same price. Sometimes its worth checking amazon uk as they often have specials on and recently seen the clinique pore minimizer t-zone shine control for £8.00.
The tube of clinique pore minimizer is a 15ml tube, it is small and not a lot in the tube but to justify this you only need to use a tiny amount. The tube is pale pink in colour with the silver clinique logo on the tube, also a screw cap lid. When the lid is of you can see there is a tiny hole where the product comes out as its so small i have to gently squeeze the tube just to get some of the product out however this is a good thing because it saves wasting half the gel around the tube.
The gel is white in colour with no scent from it at all. The gel can be applied to the t -zone, or around any area of the face that's most oily of have large noticeable pores. When i'm using the gel i apply to my t-zone this is the area that is always greasy, the t zone is the nose and forehead area.
The gel easily rubs in with no effort because it melts into the skin.
You can use the gel under make-up too , this helps control the shine that the oily skin gives. I do not wear much make-up so i cant comment on the effect it does or does not have when wearing foundation etc.
I can say that i have been using this clinique pore minimizer for six months now and i can be without it. I feel it helps control the build up of oil and has reduced my pore therefore the pores are producing less oil and less dirt is gathering throughout the day. I have worked the clinique pore minimizer into my daily routine and also can say the gel lasts all day does not need to be reapplied.
Clinique pore minimizer also helps reduce the size of pores this is another problem i had. When looking in the mirror i could see that my pores were much larger than they had been previously. Larger pores means more dirty gathering causing spots also the larger the pores the more greasy oil is produced.
I feel the clinique pore minimizer has been a god send for me. My skin look healthier, less oily, less, spots and not shiny. I do feel alot more confident now and happy with my skin. I will continue to use the Clinique pore minimizer because i did run out and within a week my skin was back to being greasy. When i run my fingers around my nose i use to be able to feel the oil it was horrible, now it feels clear and clean.
One 15ml tube lasts around one month for me so the price tag does not bother me.
I highly recommend the clinique pore minimizer t-zone shine control because it really does work!
Clinique's Pore Minimiser T-zone Shine Control £11.50 for 15ml (it doesn't sound like a lot for your money, but a little goes a long way)
It is a colourless oil-free gel. It reduces shine in the t-zone. It can be worn alone or under or over foundation. It is for all skin-types.
***How to apply***
Just take a small amount and gently rub it/ pat it onto the concerned area (I use it around the nose)
- It reduces shine in the t-zone.
- It is good value for money.
- It doesn't dry the skin out.
The shine did not stay away for too long and I had to reapply it again about 1 hour later and putting it on twice messed up my makeup a lot. So this really annoyed me because it claims that it leaves makeup intact.
***Would I recommend this product?***
Probably not because it doesn't 100% do what it says on the packaging and I do not like false claims. I have tried the product several times now and It disappoints me every time. I love the Clinique brand and this is the only product I have used from Clinique that I wouldn't recommend, so I didn't let it put me off Clinique. Perhaps this product is better for people that do not wear makeup but who have oily skin that needs controlling throughout the day.
I have a very shiney T zone so have tried a few things to stop it!Although this isnt the best anti shine product I have used it comes close!
Clinique shine control is in a tiny bottle (which I think is good when it comes to putting in your makeup bag) and you only need a tiny amount so it does last a long time (Ive had mine 6 months and still going) You put it on under makeup and it really does help combat my grease face well! However like I said before if you are really really oily there is a No7 from boots anti shine cream that works even better. This one is good for normal to slightly oily tho as the No7 would dry your face out!!
All in all quite expensive but worth it for the a matte face that does not get dried out by the product!
I'm a huge fan of Clinique products. I always find their products to be of a high quality and they always work. They may be pricey compared to cheaper brands, but they are worth the price tag. For example I am a fan of their Anti-Blemish clarifying lotion, I recently attempted to find a cheaper alternative and when I ran out I tried other similar products. This was a bad idea, my blemishes and spots became much worse and I quickly switched back to using it, and now my skin is visibly clearer and much better again.
- About Clinique -
Clinique are an offshoot from the Estee Lauder company and were founded in 1968. Clinique claim to cater for individual's needs and realises that everyone has a different skin type. They are most famous for their 3-step skin care regimes, which consists of 3 products and often comes with the line '3 Products. 3 Minutes. Twice a Day' and they claim if you follow this easy 3-step solution for your facial skin type then you will notice a huge improvement in your skin. All of Clinique's products are allergy tested and many of them are 100% fragrance free.
They have products aimed at dry skins, normal skins, combination skins, oily skins... well, you get the picture. They also have their anti-blemish range for people who suffer from spots and blemishes.
If you are unsure what your skin type is, the consultants at their counters will give you a quick and free consultation and advise you on the best products to use. Alternatively you can take the online consultation which is quick and easy to do.
You can find their counters in Boots, Debenhams and many other department stores. Their products are more high end, and range from about £8 to £20-30. Clinique will often have a 'bonus time' gift special offer on. You usually need to buy 2 products and recieve a make-up bag with lots of Clinique mini's in and usually a full size product. I prefer to buy Clinique products when this offer is running as it's a great way to try out new products.
- Pore Minimizer -
Clinique's 'Pore Minimizer' range is aimed at skin which might have large pores and can quite quite oily or greasy. In my opinion this works well with the anti-blemish range as people who have large pores may often find they have quite blemish prone skin. They have a small range of products aimed at minimising the appearance of pores both outside and in.
I have oily skin so when I was buying more of the clarifying lotion from my Clinique counter I noticed this product in the pore minimizer range. It's a t-zone shine control gel that claims to 'control oil and shine all day' It works by mattifying the area this is applied to, and also helps reduce the look of pores. You can use it under or over make-up.
The full size product is 15ml and whilst this is quite small, you don't need to use much of it so it does last a while. I've had mine a month and used it almost everyday and I can tell there is still alot left in my tube.
The tube comes in a standard Clinique green box. Inside there is a little leaflet containing a bit of information about the pore minimizer range in lots of different languages. The product itself comes in a little tube which is a pale pink colour to match the other products in the pore minimizer range and it has a silver screw lid. The product itself is a pale white milky colour, however once applied to your face it is clear. There is a tiny pinhead hole at the tob of the tube to allow you to squeeze out a small amount of the gel at a time, this stops you wasting any excess.
The gel doesn't have a strong smell to it, you would only notice a scent if you sniffed it really hard!
It's also small enough to pop into your bag so you can top-up later in the day if needs be. I generally don't take it with me to work, but if I am going out after work I may top-up in the evening when the skin is starting to form some shine again.
Application of this gel is easy. The first time I used it I applied it under my make-up, however I have found this to work much better when applied over my foundation, but before I use my powder to 'set' my make-up. I squeeze a small amount out onto my finger and rub in gently to the areas of my face I believe to be most oily. This is usually my forehead, nose, chin and around the hairline at the side. I have not found this gel to disturb my make-up at all, infact it helps it blend in nicely and it feels gentle and soft.
So, does it work? Using it instantly I notice that any shine on my skin is nicely mattified. As the day goes on I have noticed a huge difference. My skin doesn't feel as oily or cakey as much as it used to and feels so much better than without it. It's helped control my blemishes as it helps keep the areas oil-free! Towards the very end of the day I do notice some shine, but noweher near as much as I usually have, and I wasn't expecting it to eliminate oil from appearing all day. This has become a must have product for me on a morning when applying my make-up, and I feel more confident knowing my skin won't appear as shiny as it normally does during the day!
With the current VAT cut this costs £10.77, expensive yes but as I mentioned before this is lasting me quite a while, it's lasted over a month already. If you have oily skin and hate having shiny skin, especially later in the day then I can not recommend this enough.
I love, love, love this product! I have problems with an oily t-zone and have tried loads of different products over the years from mattifying moisturisers to oil absorbing papers. This product actually works.
I know some other reviewers have said it is expensive and at £11 it's hardly cheap. However, I find it to be well worth the money. You only need to use a small amount and so I find that one tube lasts me quite a long time.
You can use this either under or over makeup. The way it works best for me is to apply it over the top of my foundation. I use a little bit and sort of dab rather than rub it over my forehead and nose. It gives a lovely matte finish and there is no need to use powder when you use this product. I put it on over my make up in the morning and I am still shine free at the end of the day with no reapplication needed.
I would not be without this product now. I buy two at a time when Clinique have their 'bonus time' offer on so that I also get the gift which makes it great value for money.
Essentially, this is a very good product. It does exactly what it claims to do, which is reduce shine and absorb excess oil in problem areas such as the forehead, nose and chin. It is a powder-based gel, which in all my experiments with these sorts of products, is the only formula that actually gets the job done.
Having said that, there are a few problems though. If you have oily skin that is prone to breakouts, smearing this on can spread the already present bacteria to other parts of the face and as a result, cause spots to spread. If you have a bad breakout, I really wouldn't reccommend using this until it has started to clear up. On clear skin that is just a bit oily however, this product works brilliantly.
The other negative is the price, especially for how much is actually in the £11 tube. 15mls is not a lot and if you are using this product regularly, it is going to run out very quickly. The size is great for your handbag but not so good for your bank balance!
It is also more of a quick fix than a product that actually solves the problem of excess oil production. There are many other products out there that actually help regulate the sebaceous glands, whereas this just mops up the excess oil, products such as Origins Oil Refiner will help regulate your skin over time.
This Clinique shine controller is a slightly expensive god send in short. I highly recommend it for controlling shine and drawing attention away from pores. For a full review, see below.
Firstly, the biggest negative aspect of this product is the price. Although £11 is not much for a Clinique make up product, you only get 15ml for that price. So keep in mind, this needs to be used sparingly!
Although this product is "fragrance free", there is a slight smell to it which is difficult to describe. It's not a great smell, but it's not a horrible smell either.
The product comes in gel form which feels slightly chalky at first, but once smoothed in becomes extremely soft and mattifies the skin, leaving it feeling divine.
The brilliant thing about this product is that it does what intends to do, I found that my skin appeared a lot less shiny (I have T-zone issues), and large pores which I have on my nose were a lot less apparent (think of it as a polyfiller). Also, this product can be applied before make up for a matt base, on it's own for shine free skin, or over make up in order to get rid of the shine from the day.
This is definately a product which is worth buying as a treat for yourself, for those big nights out, those days when you need to make a good impression, or simply for times when you feel you don't look your best, the look and feel of this gel is bound to pick up anyone's spirits!
