A lovely friend frequently passes me her beauty products that she has bought on a whim and not really used. Never one to turn down a gift horse in the mouth, I am always excited to see what is in the parcel, and a full size 30ml botltle of this extra help help serum was included.
At first I was a bit baffled as to how to use this product - I mean after cleansing, toning and moisturising my face, do I really need to add another layer before applying make up? Is there that much time in the morning to keep applying (I suspect this is why I ended up with it in the first place!)
This little bottle did, I am ashamed to admit, lie unloved in by goodie cupboard for some time before I decided that I could use it to apply to my neck. I am quite consicious that your neck shows your age long before your face does (I was asked once by a friend with a very wrinkly neck whether her neck aged her - what do you say to that??) and my neck does get quite dry and shows a few lines.
The product itself comes in a bottle with a pump action, which dispenses just enough for one application to my neck. The serum itself has the consistency of between a gel and an oil, although not greasy at all. It is really cooling to apply to the skin, and surprisingly does not leave any sticky residue or a greasy feeling.
Unlike some of the products that are designed for instant softening, like Estee Lauder's Idealist for example, there is no immediate feeling of difference to the skin. However, having nothing to lose, I kept using this product, and after a couple of weeks, really started to notice a difference. My neck feels much smoother and softer and the lines are much reduced - a really noticeable difference.
I have used this product for 2-3 months now and am very impressed with the results. The bottle is getting alarming low however and having checked on the Clinique website to see how many arms and legs I am going to have to remove and can't see it listed, so I am guessing it has been discontinued. I have bought one from Ebay though for around £20 so keep your eyes open for a bargain if you feel the need for some extra help - highly recommended.
