For many years I had an embarassing problem of having greasy and shiny skin. This was a blight left behind after successful treatment of acne as a young adult that dried out my skin with the side effect of making it react by producing more sebum. No matter what I have tried, I always used to still get greasy skin especially around the I-zone (across forehead, down the nose and across the cheeks). This was usually worse just after lunch time and early evening.
I talked about this problem with an advisor in John Lewis back in about 2001 as the problem was really getting me down. She recommended that I try the Clinique Oil Control Hydrator and I have never looked back. I always had a good hygiene routine and this is now an essential part of that. I use this product every day without fail.
I have tried a couple of similar products to see if I could find something a bit cheaper to use, but trust me, these are all inferior. There are a few more expensive options out there such as Bio Therm Homme but I have not tried those yet, as the Clinique option is affordable and reliable and pleasant to use.
My skin is a little sensitive, and I have never had a problem using Clinique skin supplies as they are hypo-allergenic and non/mildy fragranced and easily absorbs into the skin. I've also noticed that I still tan naturally while wearing this, and it does not contain a sun block. (I've even used sun tan lotion over the top and it was no problem).
The Oil Control Hydrator is a white, smooth lotion that contains microscopic spongelike beads that absorb excess sebum/grease, so at the end of the day, I always wash my face to remove this - although you don't have to do this as you won't visibly see it or feel it. Sometimes if you apply too much near the eyes, you can start to notice a slight tingling/drying sensation - so be careful to avoid the eye area.
If like me you suffer from a greasy complexion that comes and goes, then give this a try. I don't think you will regret it. I have found this online for around £15 and 1 tube lasts me at least a couple of months, as I only use a small amount each day. In fact the best place to buy this has often been direct from the Clinique website as they have reasonable prices and often have deals where they give out free samples.
