If you want a product which will brighten your complexion, reduce fine lines and even your skin tone then this is for you. My skin tends to be dull and I have a few fine(ish) lines but whenever I use this product for a couple of days then I really can begin to see the difference.
Yes, it is pricey but it will last for a really long time as you only need a little blob.
I don't use this with the rest of the clinque range - the soap, clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisturiser - but that hasn't in any way (as far as I am aware) hindered the performance of this product.
I would like to also draw attention to the facemask which they do in this turnaround range which does an equally great job and when the two products are used together you really can see a significant difference.
I really like the Clinique brand. I know they are on the expensive but I am a real sucker for their products. I bought this as part of a promotional offer at Boots and I have to say I am really impressed with it! This Clinique Turnaround Concentrate was really nice on my skin.
The cream is meant to brighten up your skin and give you a more even appearance by using exfoliants which continually resurface the skin.
I always feel that in the winter months my skin always looks a little dreary and not quite as fresh as it normally does. I started using this about October time and I really think it improved my skin over the festive months! The central heating normally plays havoc with my skin when we have it on, but I really think this cream made a difference and brightened it up.
I am normally ok in the summer months, being outdoors more makes my skin feel and look fresher, but when it is so cold inside at winter time, I tend to be indoors more with the heating on.
I also find when I am working in the office that the air conditioning also makes my skin look dull and not feel very nice, but I find that this skin renewer really helps to perk it up and make it look brighter.
The directions of use are to apply it twice daily before your moisturiser. Although it comes in a quite small 30ml bottle, to use it twice a day means you are using quite a lot quite quickly, but since the liquid is quite runny you don't have to apply much each time you use it. It probably won't last this long but it has a great long shelf life of 24 months once opened.
The lotion is really easy to apply. It is aided by the pump lid that you just push down in order to get the lotion out (saves you trying to put a lid back on with sticky fingers!) The lotion didn't irritate my skin in the slightest, but was actually really gentle and on top of that it also moisturised my skin. It also it quickly absorbed in to the skin so you can apply your moisturiser right afterwards.
The cost of the lotion is £30 for 30ml. It is available at a lot of the high street stores such as Boots, Debenhams and John Lewis. It is also widely available on the internet, so there is no trouble trying to get a hold of it.
The bottle is an attractive design in a nice blue/green coloured plastic. It has a large silver 'C' on the front of it and 'Clinique' written underneath that. It has a silver lid with a pump, but it is also possible to unscrew the lid completely. The lotion itself is quite runny and white in colour. It is also 100% fragrance free which I quite liked because I am quite picky about some of the smells of cosmetics!
All in all I would say this was a fantastic product. I would highly recommend it, especially for people who feel like their skin looks a little tired. I know its expensive but I really feel like it worked for me and helped make me look fresh faced!
I've just finished my first bottle of the Clinique Total Turnaround visible skin renewer for oilier skins and I am still not sure what I think about it. I bought the 1.7oz/50ml pump bottle, after hearing few of my friend raving that "if they had to take only one item to a deserted island, that would be the Total Turnaround". I used the bottle on average once a day and lasted for almost 6 months. The lady at the Clinique counter said to use it under my moisturizer, after cleansing and toning, morning and evening. It is supposed to act as a gentle exfoliator. I am in my late 20s with combo/oily skin that breaks out occasionally and the pimples leave marks that take few weeks to disappear. They reassured me that Turnaround will improve my complexion, prevent the breakouts and clear these leftover red/brown marks. Usage: After cleansing and toning my face with Elizabeth Arden cleanser and toner for oily skin (I tried the Clinique 3-step routine but it really dried out my face), I applied a small amount of the product onto my face. The texture feels really nice and sinks into the skin immediately. It doesn't leave any greasy feeling (which I was really worried about initially). I followed with my moisturizer (Lancome Impactive) and went to sleep. Results: I rushed to the mirror the first thing in the morning to see the "amazing results" everybody was talking about. There was no striking difference, although my skin felt softer and clearer. After using the product for few days I noticed my complexion was clearer, although it was not as amazing as I thought it should be after paying so much money. After using it for few months I can say that it does help with preventing the occasional spots and it did clear my complexion. Now I would use it only in the evening, under my moisturizer. When the bottle run out after few months I decided to stop for few weeks to see if there is any difference.
Although I was ready to say using it did not make amazing difference, stopping it did - my skin is back to the occasional spots and uneven complexion. Needless to say, I bought another bottle online that I expect to arrive in few days. I am still not sure if it is worth the money but so far is the only product I've found that makes my complexion clearer. Smell: The smell is very light, medicine-like, but I am ready to put up with it.
I have been using total turnaround for approx 6 months and I think its excellent. I use it every night after my clarifying lotion and before my dramatically different moisturiser. The first time I used it, I honestly could not beleive how soft it made my skin feel. It really did. Only drawback is that the cream is expensive, but you do only need to use a small amount at a time, and only once a day. The texture of the cream is lovely, a very thick yet light texture. The cream is not essential, but it sure is nice to use.
Bear was working on something at the table in my room, and I was still lying in bed trying to get some more sleep, even though it was already 11:45am. I moved closer to the table, still under my blankets, and he held out his hand. I placed it on my left cheek. "I like how your skin feels when it's clean," Bear said. Blank look. "Uh, I just woke up. I haven't cleaned my face yet." Blank look again, this time from Bear. "I mean, I like how it feels when you don't have anything on it." Like makeup, I suppose. "Oh, right." Big smile on my face. I have Clinique's Total Turnaround Visible Skin Renewer (CTTVSR) to thank. 5 years ago, I would not have imagined anyone telling me that. Let me explain. I'm now 20. During my teenage days, I used to have quite a lot of breakouts, had oily skin, and had a mother who emphasized external beauty (especially face) a lot more than what you would expect. When adverts of new face creams were on TV, I used to think how I would be doomed to use anti-pimple products throughout my life, and I was determined to one day have normal skin, and be able to use drugstore brands (because my mom was a Shiseido user and so she bought me Shiseido products). I know that Clinique isn't a drugstore brand, but hear me out anyway. I got my first sample of CTTVSR in one of those female magazines that my mother subscribed to. I washed my face at night, and not knowing what it really was, I used it without my moisturizer (I don't normally use a lot of it when I'm back in Malaysia, where it's hot & humid). After a few minutes, I think I accidentally brushed my hand over my cheek and I could not believe what I felt. My cheek was so incredibly smooth. I went to my 9-year-old sister and said "Hey, look, touch this," and she said "It's so smooth!" and I grinned. That was a year ago.
A few months ago, a big department store here in Australia closed down and had a big sale. Without really thinking, the first store I headed to was Clinique. Without really thinking again, the only thing in my mind was CTTVSR. And that would be the start of my new-skin journey. I must admit though, that over the years, my skin's condition has begun to improve ... I suppose my hormones are normalizing. Also probably due to the dryer weather over here compared to Malaysia, so my skin is less oily and less prone to breakouts. I use it every night after my moisturizer just before I go to sleep. When I first got it, I used to like the texture so much that I wanted to use it night AND day. I later found out that it's not a good idea because what CTTVSR is, is really an exfoliator, so if i use it so often, I'd be overdoing it and harming my skin instead of doing any good. It's a bit creamy yet light enough and feels wonderful on the skin. For some reason, it looks like it's got a bit of shimmer in it too, so putting it on my face is like putting on a bit of glam factor onto my face! And when I wake up, my face feels really smooth. I've got Bear to back that up! He doesn't know what's going on, of coures :) I have read the opinion that's up before mine, and I am actually quite surprised that it didn't work as well for her. Perhaps I should write a comment and suggest that she tried CTTVSR for oilier skins (yes, there's such a thing too!). According to the Clinique classification, I'm a type II (the most usual one) and the Turnaround Cream I'm using is suitable for type I (dry) and II (normal). When I go to sleep, I know that I'm doing my skin a favour. It can feel a bit greasy if you've already got oily skin ... but the weather is very dry for me (I wake up with a dry throat sometimes!) so I guess that helps to minimize the greasy effect/feeling. So when I wake up, I fe
el really good! Sometimes I feel like not washing my face and go to uni just like that because my skin feels so dewy ... but a good splash of cold water in the morning always wakes me up! :) As with all Clinique products, this is fragrance-free. So no bonus there, if you like treating your olfactory senses!
Total Turnaround is a salicylic sacid based exfoliator. It claims a gentle exfoliation of the outer layer of the skin during the night, making the skin appear smoother, younger, pinker and noticeably wrinkle-free in the morning. What it really does: I'm not sure. It, for sure, add moisture (aka grease) to the skin. And that's about all... I used a 30 ml pot from the beginning to the end. That means about 3 month treatment. Turnaround works (?) as a night cream. In the morning, you have to wash your face with the soap (what I did), use the Clarifying lotion 2 with a cotton ball in order to remove the dead cells (What I did) and use the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (what I didn't, because I don't like it: I used my own moisturising cream instead, Bioforce comfrey cream). My skin care routine before Turnaround was the same, morning and night, only I used the comfrey cream as night as well with Clinique's Daily Eye Saver night and morning. Turnaround didn't give any noticeable improvement in my skin tone, my wrinkles, my pores, my sun spots, or my levels of moisture during the daytime. After cleansing in the morning, the feeling was the same as before. After using the Clarifying Lotion, wich is itself a fairly good exfoliant, the feeling was just the same before and after Turnaround, and my skin didn't appear to be dirtiest after using it (with all these dead cells that Turnaround was supposed to help remove during the night). What Turnaround did was to add plenty of grease and oil to my skin, wich is combination to dry: every morning, my forehead, my nose and my chin were oilier than ever: even in my teens I never had so much grease in my face! Luckily, I didn't break out, so I continued using it, hoping to see the miracle of younger skin sometime in those month. It didn't happen. I wouldn't recommend this cream to someone with oily or combination skin. It does
n't make a visible difference in the skin colour, texture or touch. You can get a gentle exfoliator for less than half the money, or you even can wash or clean your face and use a gentle wash cloth as exfoliator: that's what I did after using Turnaround and that really made a difference!!
