Clinique Turnaround Concentrate
Advantages: it works!
Disadvantages: fairly expensive
I absolutely love Clinique products; I think I am yet to find one that I don't like! I am only in my early twenties and technically speaking I doubt I necessarily need a serum just yet but that's not going to stop me using one. I did recently try one from soap and glory thinking that it would be a reasonable product but it was just awful and so I went back to Clinique to see what suitable serums they had. As I said I am only young so I wasn't interested in any anti-aging / anti wrinkle type products just yet but was recommended the turnaround concentrate visible skin renewer.
===Price and other products in the range===
This did not come cheap at £32 for 30ml, also available in a 50ml size for £47. I thought this was fairly expensive but having been so impressed with other clinique products I didn't mind paying this price although I did go for the smaller size. There are other products in the turnaround range which are basically aimed at promoting radiance and therefore giving a youthful look. Other products are:
Turnaround overnight radiance moisturiser - £34 for 50ml.
Turnaround body smoothing cream - £24.50 for 150ml
Turnaround instant facial - £32 for 75ml
I have tried all of these products aside from the overnight moisturiser and love them all! These products can all be found from Clinique counters in department stores and in larger Boots stores.
As with all of the turnaround range the packaging is mainly light blue with some silver which I think looks fairly attractive and luxurious (as it should for the money I paid) on my dressing table. This serum is in a cylindrical pump tube with the usual information written on it. What it claims to do, how to use it and that, as with all Clinique products, this is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested. I quite like this packaging, it is slim and attractive and easy to use. The pump seems to dispense just the right amount of serum to cover your face without having any excess left over. The last thing I want to do with an expensive product is to waste any! The only dislike I have for this packaging is that there is no way to see how much product is left and I wonder if I will actually be able to get every last drop out.
The blurb on the back of this says that this product 'unveils skin's optimal radiance through an unprecedented multi-level skin renewal process. An advanced cocktail of exfoliants continually resurfaces skin for a brighter, more even appearance. Immediately, skin looks perfected. Over time, the appearance of fine lines is reduced.' I think it is great to see that this product is intended to have not just an immediate effect but a long term one.
===So does it work?===
On the packaging the instructions are to apple twice daily following the 3 step system and to then follow with the rest of your regimen. I don't tend to use this twice daily as I like to use the Clarin's daily energizer range in the morning, but I do use this every night. Once I have completed the usual 3 step system, although I do sometimes skip on the dramatically different moisturiser, I apply this serum. The serum is a white, almost luminous liquid with a good consistency, not too thick or too runny. The amount you get when you use the pump doesn't look like much but just a pea sized amount is enough to cover the whole of your face. A little bit really does go a long way! I rub this into my face, avoiding the eye area and it feels lovely. Considering this is an exfoliating serum I was expecting it to not feel very pleasant on my skin, but actually it is very silky and smooth and feels as though it is moisturising my skin. the serum is absorbed very quickly into my skin and I then follow this with applying my usual superdefense moisturiser. I really notice the difference in the morning and genuinely think that my skin looks brighter. I'm not too sure if it evens out my skin more, mainly because my skin is very evenly toned anyway. I also can't comment too much on the claim on fine lines as I don't have too many of those either! I have had many people comment on my skin before, which I think is as a result of using this, saying I look very well, or glowing!
I absolutely love this product and would recommend for any age range. There is no denying that this is an expensive product but a little goes a long way so the product should last well, meaning that actually it is good value for money. I have known Clinique to keep samples of this before if you feel the need to try before you buy.
Thanks for reading.
