Great product, but shame it won't be around for long

I really enjoy having a good look around Crabtree and Evelyn shops - they always smell divine and have lots of lovely products to try. I must admit however that I have never actually bought anything from one of their high street shops, but I am a big fan of their outlets and in particular the bargains you can find in them.

This lovely night cream was one of my bargain finds - reduced from £20 to £5 so I popped it in the basket thinking it was well worth risking at such a bargain price.

When I got home I was pleased that the size of the box was not disproportionate to the size of the pot as there was a generous 50ml pot inside.

The cream inside is a brilliant white colour and smells really nice and fresh - a bit like the traditional Olay smell. The product includes extracts of edelweiss and artemesia, but I must admit I can't detect these in its fragrance.

The cream is lovely and creamy to the touch and feels really cooling when applied to the skin. It does take a little while to absorb, but when it does it does feel as though your skin is cushioned in moisture.

The proof of the pudding however is to be found in the morning and my skin really feels much better for getting into the discipline of using a night cream. This product really does deliver and is one of my new favourites.

There is a downside however - I can't find that these products are available on-line or in the high streets, so I think it must be discontinued which is a real shame. My advice - get down to those outlet stores and stock up before they all go - I am going to!

A good moisturiser, but not the best bang for your buck.

Crabtree and Evelyn are one of my favourite places to shop. I love the old-fashioned look of their stores, the helpful staff and the deliciously girly floral scents that they offer. Their creams are of a uniformly high quality: very rich, well mixed and full of nutrients for the skin.

This one is no exception. The packaging is lovely - old-fashioned without being too "Yardley". In your hand, the cream feels ultra-rich and thick, to the point that I was a little worried that it would be greasy. However, pop it on, and it's soon absorbed into the skin, leaving it feeling smooth and plump. Like their handcreams, it softens and moisturises from the get-go, so no annoying "wait six weeks for results"!

The only slight downside is the price - nearly £13 for almost 50ml. For that, you do get a cream that is substantially better than cheaper lotions and potions, but I'm not sure that this is the best moisturiser on the market in that price bracket - that honour goes to Dr Hauschka! However, if you're looking for a gift for someone, the packaging might bring this out as a good choice

Let me tell you that I am fast becoming a great lover of Crabtree & Evelyn beauty products. As you know, I bought their Goatmilk 60-second fix treatment for my hands. At the same time my face had become very dry and my usual cream, Nivea Visage, wasn't helping at all. So, in for a penny in for a pound, I thought. The assistant had been very helpful in demonstrating the hand product and so I asked her if she could recommend a cream for the dry areas of skin on my face (particularly the brow area). She had a look at the dry skin and recommended a night cream so that the skin could be nourished whilst I was asleep. She took me to the shelves and showed me the Enriched Night Cream and so I decided to buy it and hoped that it would work. I need not have worried at all. That same night I had a bath and then decided to start on my beauty regime. Well, a girl has to try and keep up appearances! My face was washed and ready for the cream (I had already applied my eye gel). The assistant had told me that I didn?t have to put a lot of cream on as ?a little goes a long way?. I opened up the jar and put a small dab of cream on various areas of my face and neck and then gently rubbed the cream into my skin. The cream had a rich, luxurious and smooth consistency and it was easily absorbed into my skin. There was no feeling of greasiness at all. The cream contains vitamins D and E, avocado and wheatgerm oils which help to feed and, at the same time, soften the skin but the ingredient allantoin helps to soothe the skin. I can honestly say that I noticed a softening in my skin straightaway! This seems just as good as the hand therapy treatment, I thought! The assistant had also told me that the collagen contained in the cream also helped to ?fluff up? fine lines. The ne
xt day I looked in the mirror and I must admit that the dryness had all but gone! I have used the product for several days now and my skin is feeling really gorgeous ? it is certainly soft and I am sure the fine lines are definitely starting to disappear. My daughter has always told me that I don?t have many wrinkles for my age(I can always see them though) but this cream certainly does help the process of elimination. Apparently the cream is especially effective in winter and is best for dry or mature skin. The cream is contained in a translucent glass jar which gives the feeling of opulence. It has a white lid which screws onto the jar with the raised silver words of ?Crabtree & Evelyn London? on top of the lid. The appearance of the jar alone just makes me feel that I own something special. The jar is contained in a square box made of white card material and there is a picture of daisies on the lid of the carton with the wording ?Swiss Skin Care?. On either side of the carton you will find a list of ingredients, one in English ? the other in French. The weight content is 47ml (1.6 fluid ounces). The price of this sumptuous cream is £12.95 and if you cannot obtain it at a C&E shop (some department stores sell all these products) then you can purchase online from: www.crabtree-evelyn.co.uk Unfortunately, I haven?t seen this particular cream in my favourite TKMaxx store but I will certainly look every time I enter the shop! My opinion of the cream is one of sheer delight. The cream works. It softens, smoothes and hydrates facial skin and helps to eliminate some of the fine lines. It is dearer than the normal ?High Street? creams but it won?t break your bank. We need our treats and as we get older our skin needs just that little bit extra ca
re and Crabtree & Evelyn have recognised this fact. Use the cream with care and I am sure it will last for quite some time. All I can tell you is that I will certainly be buying it again. It has now become part of my daily routine and I wouldn?t be without it ever again. If I could not get it locally or at Gunwharf Quays then I would most certainly order it online.
