Advantages: Argan oil, design, soft cream
Disadvantages: hole is too big, not amazing for really dry skin
My mum won this hand cream in a raffle and I found it in her car. It had been there a while and was in its cardboard packaging untouched. I think she just already had too many creams opened to open another one so I said I would have it. I have never used hand creams before as I just used to use my normal face moisturiser if my hands got dry. But since I have gotten back from travelling over the summer I have felt my hands get dry as soon as I washed my hands or stepped out of the shower. I think it's jsut my skin readjusting to the english weather but still, I needed something!
I have to say that the packaging for this hand cream is just lovely. I love the old fashioned classic look it has. It looks like something queens would have used back in the day. My handcream came in a different box to the one pictured. It was the same peachy pink colour as the tube and was not a rectangular cube shape. At the top it has a flap over the back which you used to open it and was flat the top and cube-like at the bottom. quite hard to explain! But the box was very pretty. As is the tube. It is a very big tube for hand cream, perhaps too big to put in your hand bag but a good one to just stick in the bathroom maybe. It is that pink colour with the same logo and writing as the box.
It says it has argan, pomegranate and grapeseed. Now I am very familiar with argan, it is a north African oil which is great for skin and hair. It is used a lot in french beauty products and as I am half french I have used it in products a lot. It seems it is only just being made popular in the UK now. Other than that, pomegranate and grapeseed I only know in culinary terms and have no idea of their benefits for skin. Perhaps pomegranate is only used for the smell. On the back it says it also has shea butter and acadamia nut oil too. Shea butter is known for its moisturising quality and its softness. They should have put that on the front instead of grapeseed!
The cream itself is quite a nice soft texture and does not feel greasy or heavy at all. Although when I do have really dry hands, I feel like I need something thicker to put on. It does smell quite pleasant. I don't recognise any of the smells. It just smells a bit fruity and fresh. Although it does remind me of fruit-scented hand wipes you get, as if the lemon ones came in different scents. Pomegranate maybe.
The only negative thing I can think of is the fact that the opening of the tube where you squeeze it out is very large and you have to be really gentle squeezing the tube otherwise you get a lot out at once like I did the first few times.
All in all it is a good hand cream and I like the design and the fact that it has argan oil in it. I also like that the tube is not plastic but that flexible aluminium (or something) which just stays where you push it so when it starts running low you can roll the end to push the cream towards the top.
