“ Brand: Cuticura / Scrub / Type: Facial Scrub / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Exfoliates, „
Another purchase in the hope it will be the answer to my skin scare problems. Cuticura cucumber facial scrub cost me a £1 in the pound shop for a 75ml tube quite reasonable I feel the tube has a life span of 18m.
This face wash promises
'intensive refreshment' - correct it leaves your skin feeling refreshed not quite sure about the intensive part but you will know you have you used it.
'leaves skin smooth and revitalised' again as above yes you do know you have used it the wash is made from cucumber and aloe vera you can definatley smell the cucumber when you take the lid off. It also has tiny exfoliating particles which are there to help remove dead skin and when I say tiny i mean the size of a grain of salt unlike some facial scrubs with much larger pieces in.
To use the face wash you simply rub it in circular motions onto your skin then rinse off. Its not a face wash for everyday its for once or twice a week I ususally use it as an extra pampering thing on a Sunday night before returning to work helps me relax.
This is a good quality face wash which leaves your skin feeling clean and smooth and for £1 its a bargain would definatley recommend.
Thank you for reading my review I hope you found it useful you may also find me on other websites under the same name.
I have always been apprehensive about buying bath and beauty items from places such as 'the local 99p' store. I felt no different when my mum bought this home a month or so ago. When she showed me the name 'Cuticura' rang a very faint bell but I thought it might just me a brand copy, where shops make products that are extremely similar to known brands so I decided to leave it for my mum to use.
But a couple of weeks ago my normal face scrub had finished and I never feel clean and fresh unless my skin is scrubbed off all its dead skin so I decided to hope for the best and give It a go! I am tremendously glad that I did!!
** Cuticura **
Unbeknown to me Cuticura is actually a well found health and beauty brand which has been going since the 1800's! Apparently most famous for its talcum powder it recently seems to be better known for it antibacterial hand gel, which in lights of the recent Swine flu outbreaks it seems obvious now why I had seem the name. I have some of their hand gel on my desk at work!!
Cuticura have only of late started their skin care range and is one of the newest parts of their business. Extending from face wipes to facial wash it seems to fit in with the rest of the face care companies that are around right now.
** Cucumber Facial Scrub **
To be honest the packaging is probably as basic as it gets. Which probably explains why I was doubtful about using it and at 99p you can only expect basic packaging but it's what's inside that counts right??! The 75ml green squeezy tub has a screw off blue lid and blue and green writing on the front. So if you're looking for it, it might not stand out from the rest of the glitz and glam on the shelves at the moment.
This face scrub claims to be for normal/combination skin. It effectively smoothes away any dry flaky patches to give you cleaner, smoother and refreshed skin.
** What Is It Like To Use? **
When I first used the scrub I did notice it was quite tough to squeeze out of the bottle. This is because the scrub itself is quite a thick off white cream with small exfoliating crystals. The scrub comes out like the party string I used to use when I was little... thin and wiry! But this is a good thing as you only need a small amount as it spreads out well.
The instructions advise you to clean off any make up first as this scrub doesn't get rid of the panda eyes but more the snake's skin! You have to rub the scrub in light circular motions. I instantly could feel the crystals working and really giving my face a good scrub. Although I have relatively delicate skin, this was perfect for me. It has hard enough exfoliaters so it got the dirt off and didn't just dissolve away in the water as some do. Almost like rubbing sugar into my face but without the sweetness.
The scent of the scrub is just as it should be light and fresh, with a hint of cucumber and a light menthol sensation. It doesn't stay on the skin and just adds to the refreshing feel. Great at waking you up!
The scrub rinses off well, but because the exfoliating crystals are so small you have to make sure you rinse well. I have got out the shower many a time to feel the corners of my nose and eyebrows holding the remains of the scrub!
When I dried my face the first thing that is noticeable is just how fresh and clean my face looks. I never have any red or blotchy patches which is great considering the crystals are quite robust. I think this is probably due to the Aloe Vera and Allantoin which help to revitalise and sooth skin. My face never feels dried out and is definitely smoother then before I started using it.
So in my opinion it does exactly as advertised to a brilliant standard!
** Conclusion **
I can really feel the difference when I don't scrub my face and this works absolute wonders. In fact, in my opinion this is better then some of the most popular expensive brands. Although we got it from out local shop, i is also sold in shops such as superdrugs and other supermarkets etc. It does exactly what I want a face scrub to do and the results are better then those I have had in a long time. I will and have bought this again, it is a staple in my bathroom, I may not use it every time I clean my face but it is definitely something I will always use and for 99p you can't go wrong!
