I had never even heard of this make before, but being a great little bargain hunter, when I saw a two pack of 30 wipes being sold for £2, it would have been rude not to.
I do find cleansing wipes useful, so knew that I would use them, and if they werent any good, then I hadnt forked out a small fortune for something useless.
~~WHAT DO THEY PROMISE?~~
They state that they remove all impurities and make up whilst at the same time being alcohol and fragrance free
They will also leave your face toned and hydrated leaving your skin soft, clean and refreshed
Once again, I have that feeling of déjà vu when I read the promises on make up (and remover) products. They all seem to claim to do the same thing and yet charge vastly differing prices to do this.
WHAT ARE THEY LIKE?
The packaging is a white blue water proof packet, small enough to carry around with you and the peel back strip is supposed to be resealable. I did find this to be not the case; because the two packs were so tightly bound together, when I tried to separate them, one of the packets managed to split, so its now held down with sellotape.
There are 30 wipes in the packet, each measuring about 20 cm square. Kind of like a small tissue; not one of those man size ones.
The wipes themselves are pulled out of the gap one at a time and then this can be resealed to keep the remaining wipes moist. They are quite moist, enough to make you feel that you have washed your face but not so wet that you need a towel to dry off, and being fragrance free, have absolutely no discernible smell.
HOW TO USE THEM
You wipe them gently around your face and over your eyes and watch the dirt and grime come off.
After use dispose of the wipe in the bin- do not flush. This is actually stated on the packet, whereas very often, its left to me to guess whether they are flushable or not.
DO THEY WORK?
I bought these because they were in my local savers equivalent of a bargain basement and I really do like a bargain. I wasnt expecting too much because they were quite cheap remember the maxim you get what you pay for , but I knew I would probably be ok using them because I dont tend to have overly sensitive skin.
They certainly remove the daily grime including most eye make up, although normal eye make up remover is necessary for water proof mascara. They are great for a freshen up if you are like me and like to remove the worst of the grime when you get in from work or if on a morning you prefer not to get your face wet (I especially hate this in the morning when its cold outside)
They dont dry out your skin, and after use, skin does feel clean and fresh. However, as ever, I would still moisturise because I dont see how they can replace moisturiser, and although they arent drying, they are not moisturising enough for my skin.
Unlike some wipes, they are a good size, and you dont feel you have wasted half the wipe because its too big, and you wont feel the need to use several to do the job.
Because my packet was a double packet, the resealable seal broke, so I did find that the last few dried out, but I would imagine they would stay moist had I not ripped the packets.
They remove most normal make up, but with water proof mascara is still difficult to get off, so use eye make up remover or have clogged up eye lashes.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM?
Yes if you want a quick cleanse "on the go". I also like them for a facial clean in the morning when my face is already relatively clean and just needs freshening up.
Cuticura (yes, really!) Check out the website www.cuticura.co.uk. I had a look, and was surprised at how many products they actually make; lots of personal, skin, hand and bath care products, and all promising to be good for sensitive skin
Thanks for reading.
