Decleor are famous for their aromessence oils and the Iris aromessence is targeted at the more mature skin that is looking for an anti-aging type result.
These oils are pure and have no 'nasties' in them, no parabens and therefore once they're opened I would recommend you use the 15ml bottle within 6 months at the most.
Oils themselves should not simply be seen as a way for 'dry' skins only to be hydrated, as decleor have various aromessence oils to suit all different skin types and oilier skins should not shy away from them, they do NOT produce more oil nor do they leave an oily residue ( when applied correctly. ) Iris as stated, is targeted at the more mature skin and I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 35-40 unless they have dry, premature signs of aging skin.
The trick with decleor oils is in the application. First, you will need to make sure that your skin is damp !! If you try and apply oil to dry skin you will have some oily patches and dry patches all over and you'll probably hate it. ( Liken it to pouring a little oil onto a dry plate. Alone it just sits there like a clot, however, if you apply the oil to some water on a plate then the oil will disperse equally through the water. ) Your skin needs to absorb the oil in equal measures all over skin and applying it to damp skin will allow this. The products are also VERY concentrated so it allows to be applied in this way without taking away any of the strength needed for an excellent result.
Secondly, you need a TINY amount !! So 15mls will go further than you think. With the 15ml bottle you need to take out the stopper and place a finger over the top and turn upside down quickly. You need to do this until 3 or 4 fingers ( depending on how much your skin needs. You will learn this for yourself as the days go on ) have a tiny amount of oil on all of them. Then you need to warm the oils on the end of your fingers by rubbing your finger tips gently, then, gently apply the oil all over your face in light dots. By 'light dots' I mean in a light tapping motion all over your face/neck/decolletage. Then once you have you dabbed the oil all over your face, it's time to 'join the dots' and spread the oil all over your face with your fingertips.
Leave to sink in before adding any further moisturisers.
Decleor oils use ingredients that target certain issues with your skin and the Iris oil targets drier and aging skin. Therefore, when choosing a decleor oil, always highlight your most important problem. The person who would use this is someone who is concerned with aging first and foremost. If you have other more important issues, I would choose another aromessence instead. However, when targeted for certain skin issues, they always deliver. Your skin looks brighter and it just glows !!
I would use this UNDER another product, even for oily skins. The oils are there to hydrate and work on deeper skin issues, not to moisturise. Hydration and moisturisation are different issues. The most important point is in the application or you may be disappointed otherwise. If you don't have the time to apply the oils properly then I would use another serum type product with easier application techniques instead. However, the results are amazing and it's well worth taking the time out to apply the oils properly.
They last for ages and are just a pleasure to use as the smells are just wonderful !! This product can be slotted into any other skincare regime for a wonderful boost for the skin.
