Decleor is one of the first brands I ever tried, due to a combination of watching QVC demonstrating their products plus working in a department store and finding the smells, lotions and potions fascinating and on top of that finding the cost alot more effective with a decent staff discount card.
As much as I would like to purchase products from this range more often, I cant due to cost and change in my own personal life e.g mum of two now, not single living the high life and spending on myself! I was so happy though when I found I had this product stored away in a drawer and forgot all about it.Its not the full size I have, but a 5ml version ( a third of the actual retail product in size ) that was included in a kit. The full size Aromessence Neroli costs £44.00 at 15ml.
Decleor the brand
Decleor is a French skin and bodycare company who have been creating award winning products for over 30 years, that contain essential oils and active plant ingredients teamed up with cutting edge technology. They try to make their products as natural as possible, when possible, as they feel it works better with and on the skin, which can provide great results. These products are used in spas around the world, but can easily be applied and enjoyed at home. Readily available online and in department stores on our high street, but they do come with hefty price tag.
As stated I dont have the full size. My 5ml size is in a simple thin glass tube with a screw top lid. Decleor logo on front.
What is an Aromessence?
An Aromessence is a facial oil that contains 100% pure and natural essential oils. Decleor have different Aromessences for different skin types such as dry, sensitive, aged etc but this particular one is a good all rounder because it provides comfort, it soothes and smooths, hydrates the skin which will give more radiance to its appearance.
Its designed to be placed onto clean skin, underneath your moisturiser day and night. It helps to make the cream you place on top work that little bit harder and more effective.
This particular member of the Aromessence family has won a recent award from Instyle for Best Beauty Buy 2013.
15ml they say,should last a user between 2-3months.
Essential Oils of Sandalwood, Néroli, Petit Grain, Sage, Parsley and Juniper Berries
How do you use?
Take 2 drops into the fingertips, and place product all over the face using light pressure and gently massage all over face avoiding eye area.
Why I have used this product?
Anyone who has read my reviews on face skin care will know I have been suffering from very dry and tight skin. Some products have helped slightly but still not enough for my skin to feel normal. I knew this that my skin needed something extra ,an extra boost of hydration, and this is why I used it.
My skin at the moment is dry ( not as bad as it has been over the last month ), afew spots on the chin and cheek area, around the eyebrow. These refuse to go away. Skin on the whole has been uneven and slightly rough in look and touch. None of these current issues I have are normal for my skin, or at least not as long lasting as it has been. Stress, tiredness, life in general hasnt helped at all.
How have I found this product?
The first thing that hits you when you first use this product is the smell. Its fresh, uplifting, clean. Not floral or has a designated sex that it goes towards ( male or female ). For me although there is no citrus ingredient to it, there is a slight hint of something smell wise that reminds me of lemongrass. It to me is like a spa in a bottle, not heady or overpowering but what you would expect scent wise if you were having a massage or a full on facial. Very plesant and enjoyable to breathe in.
The oil was easy to apply and despite using a small amount, it was very concentrated and covered the whole face and neck area. Not thick but fluid so it glided. Despite it being an oil, I didnt find it greasy and it sunk into the skin quickly and easily and immediately gave my skin a drink of moisture in regards to feel and look.It was light and comfortable on the skin, and I could still smell the aroma which gave it a nice touch. Moisturiser could be put on straight away without a problem, and that actually glided on easier than usual.
The effect on my skin was quite surprising. I have used this product before and enjoyed it ( years ago ) My skin always felt and looked healthier and I did feel it allowed my moisturiser of choice at the time to last that little bit longer ( as I didnt need so much ). But my skin was always in good conditioner and I didnt need to use many products and I didnt need to be too picky with what I used. Now its different. The change I have seen in my skin is as follows:
Spots are flatter and healing. Smaller in size and nearly gone.
Skin is smoother and more even in look and texture.
Complextion is less dull and alittle more healthier in look.
Skin alot less dry and more hydrated.
This is only after afew applications! My partner actually said to me today I look more youthful in the face tand fresher. If a guy notices the product works!
Would I use and buy this product again? This is a special purchase at an even special price. Not something I could afford just like that but want and need to buy this ideally full size. Buying it on its own is far too expensive and as a mum, handing over that cash in my mind I calculate how many shoes I could have bought my kids, clothes, toys, days out etc. So to purchase again it would need to be in kit form, with other products I know work well for me ( hydra floral cream I love and works well ) and at a special price.I will be keeping my eyes open on QVC for a special offer as they tend to be quite competitive in price with this range, especially round summer and winter.
My advice to anyone who has a skin routine that isnt quite working as well as it should, slot this product into it and see if it makes a difference.Dont pay out £44.00 to try, if possible go to a Decleor counter and ask if they have a sample size of this product ( alot of the time they do, I think its 2.5ml in size ), go home and try!
I had never heard of Decleor until recently when a colleague at work recommended them. She buys a lot of their stuff from QVC and has tried most of Decleor's products. She said that the oils are particularly nice. Having very dry skin myself, I thought that maybe an oil would benefit my face so I bought a small 5ml bottle of Neroli oil on Ebay.
As soon as I started using this oil there was a vast improvement in my skin. At the beginning I used it every morning and at night just before applying a moisturiser. After applying the oil the moisturiser seems to glide on to your skin beautifully and I would actually look forward to this routine!
The Decleor oil has a very nice smell (I have now also tried the Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate but found this to be a bit too smelly and not in a good way!)
My face is definitely less dry now and I have cut down the use to once a day before applying moisturiser. Once I have ran out of this product I will try the Iris oil which is also supposed to be very nice.... I only wish I had been recommended this earlier!
Decleor oils are a concentrated mix of essential oils which work in conjunction with their moisturisers to provide the best penetration of moisture into the skin. The oils act as a carrier which allows the subsequent creams to sink into the skin.
As with most of the range, you can expect to pay around £35 for a bottle of this oil but you can get little 5, 10 and 15ml sizes too which you often get if you buy from QVC or Decleor directly. But even these small bottles last for ages as you only use a tiny amount (I've been using a 10ml size for several months and there's still about 1/3 left).
Once you have cleansed and toned the skin, you apply two drops of this oil to your fingertips and rub them together to feel the oil warming. Once warmed, you gently sweep this over the face. Even though it's an oil, it sinks right into the skin and does not leave you looking greasy or like you have rubbed baby oil into your face! It really is lovely and extremely moisturising even just on its own. It smells divine as with all Decleor products. It's slightly floral with some citrus hints from the orange water. So lovely that smelling it is like a mini therapy in itself!
After applying it, you then pop some moisturiser on top (Decleor hydra floral is recommended) and you will be left with plump, hydrated and glowing skin which feels velvety soft.
I use this with the hydra floral moisturiser and have repurchased it several times - would not be without it.
This is sensational. After having had sensitive and breakout skin I stumbled upon the decleor brand and began using this product and I am overjoyed with the results I have achieved. I had been struggling for months to find a product that didnt sting my overly sensitive skin upon application and this finally solved it. I applied the directed 3 drops of the oil onto my fingertips and gently massaged it into my skin - whereas I would usually feel a stinging sensation this was more of a cooling and soothing feeling, the smell was also great.
Two weeks after first using my skin felt healthier and was spot free. Now 6 months on my skin is in better condition that ever and even my boyfriend has commented on my 'smooth' complexion.
Also I would advise that when using this oil apply it to damp skin as it will enable the oil to penetrate so as not to create a barrier to your moisutriser. I use this straight after toning and it works a treat. If like me you suffer from dry and sensitive skin id alos reccomend using this with a decleor toner and the hydra floral moisturising cream to follow. This is my skin care regime and it works perfectly for me.
Decleor Aromessence Neroli
I have always known Decleor to be a professional salon brand that is recognised around the world for over 30 years. They are a trusted expert in their field and an innovator in premium aromatherapy.
To me Decleor is a brilliant brand for skin care who deliver the results but is expensive so I have stayed away for a while, that was until a year or so ago while watching a QVCUK beauty show with their resident beauty expert Alison Young and a Decleor expert talking about their products from the range.
The one product they we're talking about that caught my eye was Aromessence Neroli oil, this oil is made from 100% essential oils including Sandalwood (dry, cracked and chapped skin and greasy skin)
Néroli (scarred skin, thread veins, wrinkles and it tones the skin)
Petit Grain (It calms and soothes the mind, while relaxing the body, easing breathing and relaxing)
Sage (offers a range of benefits including quickens the bodies senses, stimulates the lymphatic system and reducing large pores)
Parsley (broken blood vessels) and
Juniper Berries (acne, dermatitis, eczema).
This product has been awarded Best Aromatherapy Facial Oil by a panel of beauty experts for Instyle Magazine Beauty Awards 2009.
Neroli oil has been developed by Decleor for all skin types (including oily) to comfort and treat skin that is exposed to daily stress, this can be illness, stress, weather, drink, smoking etc.
Even though this product is an oil it penetrates the skin upon application to soothe and relax the skin. Immediate comfort and radiance, this product also helps to reinforce moisturising properties of your usual moisturiser, which means with this product underneath your usual moisturiser your moisturiser, will be 10 times more effective.
I bought this product from QVCUK for £39.00 and I received it within a few days, when I did receive it the product comes in a simple curved glass bottle with a white screw off lid. It is small after all it is 15ml and you think you will get through it within no time.
You can use this product in the morning and evening for extra benefits to the skin. Application is relatively simple, cleanse your skin (twice in the evening to make sure all makeup is cleaned away), apply toner, wait until the face is dry then you can apply your Aromessence Neroli Oil. You wait until the face is dry as the oil will penetrate more quickly; if the face is damp you are diluting the oil thus not getting all the benefits of the essential oils. Simply turn the bottle upside down onto your fingertips and only use two drops (don't pour the product into the palm of your hands as you will use too much and waste it). Also if you use more than two drops your skin may feel oily but let it sink in for a few minutes and tissue the excess of.
At this stage a lot of people just put the product onto their face like any normal moisturising cream/oil and this is not the right way.
For this product there are two ways for application. First of all in the morning you use a method called acupressure method. With the two drops on your index fingers rub both hands together and tap gently but firmly tracing a figure two on your face, doing this stimulates the pressure points on your face.
Point A and B: (Corners of eyes/nose working up to the forehead)
Soothes red and painful eyes, headaches and visual problems
Point C: (Outer corners of eyes)
Soothes visual problems and headaches
Point D: (Down to the cheeks/outside of nose)
Soothes burning, itching and dry eyes
Point E: (Down to the end of the nose)
Soothes eye fatigue
Point F: (Out to the sides of the cheeks)
Soothes general facial tension and eye fatigue
In the evening: Soft and slow movements with your index fingers creates a deeply relaxing effect, enhancing the properties of the product.
One minute of this deep firm speedy pressure calms and relaxes.
Let the product sink in for a few minutes then you can apply your usual eye creams and moisturisers.
I personally only apply this product in the mornings as in the evening I use a different oil but I have both applied morning and night and I find it has great results. If applied in the morning you will find this product keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day without making oily skins like me oilier. Combination skins will find this product hydrates the dry areas while helping the oily areas, dry skins will find this product hydrates the skin.
With all skin types this product will keep the skin plump, hydrated, help skins with daily stress and pollution. If you notice with your usual moisturiser you need a little more or its not working as effective as it has/could then this product is for you. You will find you need less moisturiser and your usual moisturiser will be 10 times more effective than it was before.
If applied at night you will wake up in the morning with soft, hydrated skin with frequent use you will see how much benefit this product has had and you won't be without it.

I'm at that age (35 this birthday) where suddenly those little lines start appearing, and the texture of my skin seems coarser than it used to, and suddenly i'll try flaming ANYTHING to stop things getting worse. A few years ago, there's no way i would have put anything oil based on my skin, assuming that an instant massive breakout would result.
As i say, things change! I've been using a small size bottle of Aromessence Neroli for about a year now, admittedly not every day but fairly often. I bought this variety because my skin is also prone to redness and overreacting to things (sun, wind, life in general).
In use, the oil somehow isn't nearly as oily as you think. The texture when you put it on your fingers is pretty much like cooking oil, and i had some very doubtful moments the first time i used it. But somehow, it does sink in fairly quickly (though this is still definitely an overnight treatment for me, i'm certain that trying this in the day time would result in me dazzling people with my high-shine face) and doesn't feel unpleasant on the skin. I do keep it away from my oilier areas (chin, nose) though and concentrate on the areas that feel thirsty such as around my eyes and cheeks.
The main thing with this product though, is the smell. The minute it hits your nose, you forget about the oily texture, and frankly most other things too. It smells simply gorgeous, I can feel all the essential oils relaxing and calming me.
In terms of results, i'm honestly not sure i look any younger for using this, or any less rosy cheeked. It IS very nourishing and moisturising, and if your skin has that "parched" feeling - after a day in the sun for example - then this is just the ticket for getting it feeling comfortable again. But, i think the main effect is that I enjoy using it so much, i don't care about looking old any more!
It is a bit of an investment - £40 ish RRP for the 15ml size - but i've hardly put a dent in mine yet, you need such a tiny amount each time. I wish they did a smaller bottle actually because most essential oil products don't keep that well for a long period, and i think mine may well "go off" before i get anywhere near finishing the bottle.
This product smells amazing and works wonders. I have combination skin and couldn't understand how adding oil to my usual skincare routine would be of any help. To my surprise, it didn't sit on top of my skin feeling greasy but absorbed really quickly, leaving no oily trace but making my skin softer, plumper and healthier. Although I generally use other Decleor products on my face, I switch occasionally to other similar brands. The neroli oil seems to work just as well with the other ranges too. Although I noticed an imediate effect when I began using the oil I think I became accustomed to the benefit it gave my skin. When I ran out I wasn't able to replace it straightaway and then noticed what my skin looked like without it! It is quite expensive for what seems to be such a small bottle but it's worth the investment. I buy my products from the Decleor counter at my local department store - for the cost of a £25 - £30 booking fee you get an hours Decleor treatment and the booking fee refunded against the purchase of two or more products. Fantastic value for money!
I adore Decleor's neroli oil. I have been using this oil for a few years now, and had got used to the effect it had on my skin. When my last bottle had finished, I didn't purchase another, as it doesn't come cheap. After about ten days, I noticed a difference in my skin. Hard to describe really, it just didn't feel the same, it lacked the dewiness it had before. Expensive or not, I had to purchase another bottle. Within a few days my skin was back to normal.
To apply the neroli oil, place your fingertip on the bottle and tip upside down. Do this with three fingers, then rub together with the same three fingertips on your other hand, and apply over the face and neck. The oil immediately sinks into the skin, leaving no oily residue whatsoever. If your skin feels oily, you have used too much. This should be done morning and evening under your normal moisturiser.
The bottle is small but it lasts for months. A very effective product.
If you have heard of the effectiveness of essential oils in skincare products, and you believe that they actually do work, then, this is definitely one of the must-have face oils to have in your collection. As the name suggests, its main ingredient is neroli essential oil (citrus aurantium amara) which is basically bitter orange flower oil. This is the most expensive essential oil in the market. That is why most shops will sell it as a blend with a base carrier oil to cut down the cost. The ingredients in this face oil are very pure and basic: a) Hazelnut oil – it contains vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fatty acids and is suitable for all skin types, especially inflamed conditions b) Neroli oil – good for scarred skin, thread veins, wrinkles and it tones the skin c) Sandalwood oil – for dry, cracked and chapped skin and also greasy skin d) Juniper oil - good for people who suffers from acne, dermatitis, eczema e) Clary sage oil – for oily skins f) Parsley oil – good for broken blood vessels As you can see, the different essential oils are put together such that it is suitable for any skin types. If you don’t know which Aromessence oil to use, this should be the one to try first. Decleor has basically taken out the guesswork as to which essential oils are to be blended together and at what amount such that the products will give maximum results at a safe level. This is an expensive product and yes, you can blend these oils yourself, but in my experience, I have never come across hazelnut oil sold in its pure form and the essential oils contained in this product are very expensive. Pure neroli oil costs about 18 pounds for 2.5 mls and sandalwood oil costs about 9.99 pounds for 10 mls! It is very easy to fit this product into your daily skincare routine. Basically, apply two drops of it to your face and neck after cleansing and toning and before your usual moisturiser. I
t is a stand-alone product, which means you don’t have to buy the whole lot of skincare products from Decleor to see results. Because it is made up of pure essential oils, AromessenceTM will target the skin at a deeper level than normal moisturisers which only hydrates the upper epidermis. This means that it encourages cell renewal and will literally make the skin more radiant than usual. Because you only need to use 2 drops of this oil on your entire face, it will last you for absolutely a long time! The smell is very floral and very uplifting. It’s not heady at all. If like me, you get quite sick smelling strong scents, then neroli is really the best choice because it’s very light and refreshing. After fitting this product into my daily routine, I find that the condition of my skin has really improved – really soft and I get less redness on my cheeks which I usually get during hormonal imbalanced days. I have less flakiness as well. One disadvantage of this product is the packaging. Although it comes in this really posh-looking bottle, it doesn’t come with a dropper, which means that the oil is constantly being touched by your fingers every time you use it and just makes it easily contaminated. All in all, a real treat for the skin that will actually work.
This oil is especially for normal to sensitive skin. It is made from essential oils and plant extracts. In your daily routine you would use this oil after you have cleansed and toned your face. It is very calming on sensitive skin and balancing on normal skin. The good thing about this product is that you need the smallest amount, only about 2-3 drops for the whole face and neck. However, it is a bit pricey but it will last you forever. It glides on to the face absolutley smoothly and the aroma is a therapy in itself. Do not be tempted to use too much it would not make it work any better it would just go to waste. After massaging the Neroli you apply your moisturiser to seal all the goodness in.
Aromessence Visage Neroli The key to the whole Decleor range, what sets it apart from most of the others, is its aromessences - genuine aromatherapy treatments for the face and body. The only other line to do anything like this is the less widely available Darphin (and arguably Clarins only they have more chemicals than essential oils!) The Neroli face treatment oil is the company's biggest selling product and definitely one of the highlights of the whole range. For those not familiar with it, it's a little (15ml), very pretty frosted glass bottle which contains a very concentrated aromatherapy treatment - with essential oils of Petitgrain, Neroli, Sage, Parsley and Sandalwood in a hazelnut oil base. This is aimed at normal and sensitive skins; I don't use it all the time, but immediately turn to it if my skin starts to get reactive or sensitive or a little bit dry - it then has an almost miraculous effect in calming and soothing and moisturising. I also keep a 7ml travel size in my handbag and if skin anywhere starts to get itchy or dry I find this makes a fantastic rescue remedy. The aim of the product, however, is to be used as an intermediate stage between completition of cleansing (ie after toning) and before moisturising. Decleor have some pretty impressive figures which show how much more effective any moisturiser will be if it's used on top of an aromessence. That means you don't have to use the whole Decleor range to benefit from this; although it won't work properly if you slap something loaded with petrochemicals on top of it! Your moisturiser will also go much much further as you need to use a lot less on top of this You only need the tiniest bit to have a big difference - the company recommends one drop for the whole face and neck; but I use slightly less than this (but I have a slightly oilier skin). It's not cheap, but a bottle lasts me about 1
8 months (I do use the ylang for oily skin as well) and I think it's worth it. I'd very much reconmmend it for anyone who has skin that tends to flare up with sensitivities or who suffers from patchy dryness. For very dry skin there's aromesence Angelique which is also excellent. If you're interested in trying this salons do have little sample bottles which should last you about 2/3 weeks which they should be willing to give you. Oh - and like everything Decleor it smells fantastic!
