Dermalogica Anti Bac Skin Wash
Advantages: Visible results, cleans and exfoliates, mild scent, rich foam.
Disadvantages: Results are not good enough really for this price.
The name of the product pretty much explains the purpose of it. Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash is an antibacterial skin wash for both men and women. Often I find that in the morning and just after a day at work my skin feels oily. I hate having skin that is greasy to the touch and it makes me feel dirty. Soap and water don't lift the greasyness away from my skin so I have a routine of using specialist products to give me some respite from my skin feeling so bad.
The Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash is just basically a skin wash designed to clear the skin of impurities. The skin wash comes in a grey and white bottle, a very neutral design which is typical of Dermalogica. The cap of the cylindrical bottle is grey and by simply pressing on one side the wash can be dispensed. The smaller size bottle has the basic design of casp, whereas if you purchase the larger 500ml bottle this comes with a pump-action dispenser which is much easier to use. I have the smaller bottle as I like to try the products out before buying the bulkier quantities.
To use the skin wash I simply dispense a small amount onto wet hands and rub them together to create a rich foam. I then apply this to my face and rub it into key areas such as my nose, chin and forehead. These are the main areas I have trouble with, so I concentrate on these, I do wash my entire face though. I then rinse the foam from my face with warm water and dab my face dry. I find that instantly my face looks and feels a lot softer to the touch. The difference is visible due to a less oily finish on my skin, but I also feel a lot fresher aswell. The scent of the foaming wash is also quite fresh and unique. I would say the scent is quite a natural one, not the typical chemical pong you find on a lot of the harsher brands of facial wash. The skin wash is gentle to my skin, but works hard enough to show noticeable difference and improvement.
The skin wash contains antibacterial trislosan which is designed to clear surface bacteria from your skin. The wash also exfoliates the skin due to salicyclic acid (this doesn't sound too kind on the skin!) and overall I am mildly impressed with the results.
The only real problem is the price. Whilst I have had mildly satisfying results i really should have expected a great deal more, you will see where I am coming from when I tell you the pricing! The 500ml bottle with the pump-action cap costs around £30 and the smaller 250ml bottle costs around the £18-£20 mark. Unfortunately the smaller size isn't available online from what I am aware, but the large size is.
Summary: Above average results with a hefty pricetag.
