This is amazing and great for using WHILST you have breakout and trying to bring them under control.
I have never used anything par one of two very expensive brands that is able to tackle and bannish the blemishes as good as this one!
Usually I look for any blemish treatments with SALICYLC ACID in as this is the vital ingreidant that those pesky blemishes will respond to.
What is different with this cleanser is packed with extra goodness the list of ingrediants is available on the DERMOALOGICA .CO.UK site, head to skin clearing wash and scroll down past the picture of the expert and click on ingrediants list, I don't want to bore you!
The ones they have here are different than what I read from other brands and can work out what may be making the difference, although you may never really know this is still worth noting for skin troubles.
The experts have really desgigned this for adults with acne and so this also help.
Overall, my skin was not irrtated, it did not caused my skin to gt worse before it got better, and my skin was super clean, oil appearance reduced and clear skin.
This provides a protective barrier to prevent a sequel from appearing on your face!I think if you use a number of their products this has the potential to be the only itm you may need, if you have light spots or acne if its mre intense take advantage of the range.
I was a little apprehensive to see if this would eventually dry my skin out but it didn't at all
You are advised to use this alongside their medibac range but this works well on its own.
I, like many people, like to wash my face on a morning because I find that cleanser just isn't enough. I also have what I term weird skin, sometimes it has dry patches but most of the time it's a combination of breakouts and rosacea. It can also be sensitive if it is deciding to be particularly difficult. So as you can imagine finding products that work for me is a challenge to say the least. I started using Dermalogica products after a recommendation from the girl who does my facials. I've tried quite a few different things, but I think that their best products are those for preventing breakouts.
This skin wash is one such product, it's a foaming facial wash that's designed to deep cleanse and remove impurities without being too drying. I just use a small amount each morning after wetting my face, working up a lather before rinsing it off. I then just pat dry my skin and apply my moisturiser.
Since using this product every day I have noticed a reduction in the number of spots that I have. I also haven't had a huge breakout and my blackheads have all but disappeared. So as far as I am concerned this product really does what it says on the tin!
The packaging is typical Dermalogica, a very plain, sophisticated bottle with a grey cap. I bought a 500ml bottle for £20 online, but I have seen it for much more so it's worth shopping around. The bottle can also be recycled in most places, but it's worth checking your local council's plastic policy.
All in all a great facial wash that I will be using for years to come.
I bought this Dermalogica Antibacterial Skin Wash online for £26.38 for a 500ml bottle and I think this isn't a dear price to pay for a product like this, as other products can be around the same price or more. I did pay extra for postage but as I bought a few things at the same time I wasn't too bothered about the combined £5 postal charge.
You can buy this at www.skincare-online.com which is one of the sites I go to to buy beauty products. This can also be bought on Ebay too as it's a good place to get a cheaper deal.
The packaging is a plastic bottle with a flip up lid, this can be recycled after use which is good for the environment. This flip up lids are great for being able to get just the right amount of the face wash out when you want to use it and there's less risk of spillages as you can just flip the lid back shut. Just squeeze a blob out on your palm and use.
The ingredients are :-
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lauramide DEA, Extracts Of: Melissa Officinalis Leaf, Quillaja Saponaria Bark, Echinacea Purpurea; Butylene Glycol, Sodium PCA, Salicylic Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Camphor, Menthol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Diammonium Copper EDTA
This is suitable for sensative skin and won't leave your face red and blotchy after using it, the face wash is very gentle on the skin but does a really good job at removing dirt and imputities from the skin, it also helps to unblock pores and prevent spots, blackheads and acne breakouts.
Although the face wash is expensive it will last quite a while as you only need a little pea sized blob of it on your palm, add a little water and lather it up on the face and neck to give a good clean wash.
The skin feels soft and smooth after using this and the pores look clean. There really is a good end result that can be seen and felt, as it doesn't dry up the skin or leave it feeling rough.
One of the active ingredients is Triclosan which helps as an antibacterial barrier to cleanse the skin and stop outbreaks of spots and the Salicylic Acid dissolves dead skin cells making the skin fresh and youthful looking. It is also fragrance free so doesn't leave your skin smelling flowery or fruity after use.
I'd be hapy to recommend this to you if your looking for a good facial wash that can help prevent acne out breaks and clean the pores of the skin as there is a real noticable difference after using this product.
Why I chose this:
My skin is pretty spot-free but I am prone to a few blackheads and an oily t-zone. The rest of my skin is quite dry so I have always struggled to find products that work. After having a pre-holiday facial I was introduced to this product, which amazed me at how good it was. Obviously with it being done by a professional at the salon I was some what wary about how it would work at home but my skin is oil free, my black heads have gone and I haven't had a spot in ages.
How to use:
Squeeze a really small amount (about the size of a 5p) into your hands, add some warm water and rub together into a lather, and apply to your face and neck. Remove using warm water and cotton wool balls.
What they say:
The people at Dermalogica say it works by "Triclosan helps inhibit bacteria on the skin's surface as Salicylic Acid dissolves dead skin debris making it ideal for blemish-prone skin. Contains exclusive Skin Response Complex of Balm Mint, Coneflower and Camphor to soothe and purify the skin. Contains no artificial fragrance or color"
A clinical white and grey bottle witha push down lid. The packaging is clean with clear instructions on the back. It is also recycleable when you have finished with it.
£7.99 for 50ml
Even though this is quite expensive you only need the smallest amount for it to work and it lasts ages. For it to be most effective it should be used daily, and along with a dermalogica moisturiser. It took about two days to really show the effects, but I would only use this on the recommendation of a professional as it can cause dry skin to become ever drier. Lots of good salons use this natural product and will suggest the right product to use as they have products for all skin types. I would suggest only buying the small bottle unless you are prone to acne as I was moved onto another product after my skin had cleared up.
This skin wash is the best of its kind I have used. It's designed to deep cleanse your skin in order to remove excess oil, grime and make up. Triclosan, the active ingredient works to inhibit bacteria on your skins surface, meaning it has no chance to infect your pores. I tried one of the sample packs that are available from most suppliers at first, as having tried lots of prpducts to clear my skin,I wasn't sure about the claims of others that used this range. However, this really lives up to its reputation - it makes your skin feel really clean but doesn't dry it out and best of all prevents breakouts. I would highly recommend this product if you suffer from spots, oily or irritated skin, especially when used in conjunction with other priducts from the range. The wash tingles a bit when you use it and, whilst it doesn't make my combination skin tight I guess if you have dry skin it couldn't be used daily. I read that lots of make up artists use this wash to clean models' faces in between shows as its the only thing that removes all the thick make up. If it's good enough for them....
Dermalogica is an American company, based in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1986 by Jane and Raymond Wurwand, who also founded The International Dermal Institute. All Dermalogica products are researched and developed by The International Dermal Institute. With regards to their products, Dermalogica state: "Using only the finest ingredients available, all products are non-comedogenic and contain no occlusive mineral oil or lanolin, no irritating artificial colors or fragrance, and no drying S.D. alcohol or formaldehyde. Developed with the environment in mind, we also ensure that all ingredients are from eco-safe sources and are packaged in recyclable containers. Always cruelty-free, we do not test on animals". The anti-bac skin wash is a clear gel that is self-foaming - to use it all you have to do is work the gel into a lather in your hands (you don't need to mix it with water, although a if you dampen your hands first, you do get a slightly better lather). Once you've lathered it up you apply it to your face and neck (obviously taking care not to get it into your eyes!). Once you've applied it you just rinse off with warm water. Because it is so simple to use, you can use it in the shower or at the basin. A word of advice is that a little of this product goes a long way! You only need to put a small amount of the gel on our hands to work into enough lather to cover your face. Although this product does have a slight scent it is very mild and doesn't have that medicinal smell that some anti-bac products have. After using it you don't really experience that tight, dry sensation that some skin washes leave you with. This face wash is extremely good for those with spot-prone skin. In my experience it has helped to reduce any blemishes on my skin, and has helped to reduce further breakouts, though don't expect it to be an overnight miracle cure! As with most products that help to reduce spot brea
kouts you do need to use it regularly. I find that this product feels much more luxurious to use than regular skin washes... perhaps that's because it is more expensive, therefore perhaps better quality? However, as already mentioned - a little does go a long way. Dermalogica Products are only available from specialist skin care therapists and can only be purchased under the advice of a trained skin care therapist. All good skin care therapists will however have a selection of samples, so if you currently visit a salon that offers Dermalogica therapies it may be worth asking if they have a sample that you can try. Unlike many companies in the skin care market Dermalogica doesn't advertise their products, opting to gain awareness through word-of-mouth. This is definitely a product I would recommend and I will be purchasing it again in the future. Dermalogica also make a huge variety of other skin care products and every single one that I have tried I would recommend... Thanks for reading, Angeelu :o)
