I was actually given this by a friend so I am not too sure on how much it costs, but if I am honest moisturizer is not something I buy often. But I thought while I had been given this I may as well use it. My body has always been pretty soft anyway so I have never felt the need to waste money.
The first time I tried to apply this, I must have put far too much on because it took me ages to rub it in. The next time I learned my lesson and only put a little bit on, it seemed to do the same job but rubbed in a lot easier.
The lotion is just like most other lotions, white in colour and feels pretty creamy, it also has a slight perfume smell to it, not too strong just enough to make it have a nice smell to it. When I did first use this I did not notice any difference, maybe its because my skin does not really need this lotion, but after a few applications I did notice that my skin felt more silky than before, it felt slightly softer than my normal soft skin, and I also found that it did not make your skin feel oily at all.
It really did do what it says which is moisturize, I would recommend this to buy to anyone that does need to use it, as it does seem to work and it smells nice too.
For a luxurious experience choose Dove Silk Supreme body lotion.
Okay sure, why not? I want a luxurious experience, my dry skin bugs the hell out of me, when I go through my bad phases of dry skin there would be nothing better in the world than the feeling of horrible dryness to be taken over by the luxurious feeling of soft silk..
Dove is a GREAT brand, the majority of us know that, they have been around for yonks and know their stuff, I love a lot of their products!
Dove Silk lotion comes in a white plastic bottle which contains 250ml of the great stuff! Not sure if you can get this in other sizes!
It has a flip top lid which is lovely and simple, just how I like it.
Over the front it has a sticker with the Dove logo on, and then more writing in gold and a deep red colour, along with what looks like a drop of a soft pearl, something like that anyway.
On the back is a lot of information on the product so be sure to look here to be intrigued and find out what it does, or just to see what ingredients it contains.
The price is around £4.00-5.00 depending on where you buy, every day use of the 250ml bottle lasted me about a month and a half so was worth it.
So what does it promise? A body lotion that will turn your body care routine into your daily pampering treat.
With a unique combination of rich moisturiser and light reflecting particles, Dove Supreme Silk body lotion gives your skin a soft silky feel and a natural shimmering glow.
When opening up, you get a lovely scent, its very soft and gentle but its very alluring, its really fresh and sharp and I couldn't explain the smell even if you payed me a million pounds but honestly, its very very nice.
The lotion itself is quite thick and white in colour, if you look closely you will see lots of gold specks in it which does indeed make the lotion look very shimmery.
The lotion rubs into my skin perfectly every time, it spreads around very evenly and not to mention the smell just sinks into my skin and you can still smell it there hours later. You can also see the shimmer from it after you have applied it, only in certain lights though, but I can promise you that if your in a nightclub, darkish room you will definitely have a lovely natural shimmer to you, it catches best in that kind of light.
The lotion isn't sticky at all and dries very fast on my skin, just to tell you it doesn't get rid of dry skin straight away, I had to apply this about 10 times before I noticed my dry skin calming down and disappearing for the best, but you do have to keep this up otherwise it will just come back.
I do think my skin looked very healthy though after a month or so of using this everyday, and at first it didn't feel silky straight away, but after a month this was very noticeable and my skin was soft and smooth, it was great on my legs, gave them a lovely sheen 24/7, plus it last all days and the scent last ages my OH couldn't stop rubbing my legs.
Over all, a lovely lotion and it definitely was a body lotion which turned by daily routine into a pampering treat!
Dove supreme silk lotion
I always like to have some type of body moisturiser in the house and because I have no loyalty to any particular product just tend to pick up any product if I have heard of the name and found it good before.
As with most products, this one offers a range of promises. It is apparently luxurious like silk and the information on the back of the bottle states that it will turn my body care routine into a pampering treat. It does this because it contains a combination of moisturiser and light reflecting particles to give skin a shimmering glow.
As long as it moisturises my skin, I am not really too bothered about the shimmer but we shall see...
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The product comes in a 250ml plastic bottle with a flip up press back down lid, and with all of the information on the back of the bottle.
When I flip up the lid and give the bottle a squeeze the lotion comes out of the hole. It is quite a thick lotion which I like as I don't enjoy it when I tip up a bottle and the product comes out without having to apply some pressure. At least this way I get the amount of lotion I want and where I want it.
The lotion itself is white but seemingly without the shimmer, and slightly perfumed, but not overpowering. I tend to apply the lotion at night and in the morning when I apply my usual perfume, they are not vying for scent space. When I apply it to my skin it does glide on easily and although it's not too thick does take some massaging into the skin so that it is completely absorbed. Once absorbed, I do notice a slight shimmer to my skin but this isn't especially long lasting and thankfully I am not left sparkling and shimmering for work the following day. It is also non greasy and I am not left with any unsightly residue which hasn't managed to be absorbed.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
Costing around the £4 mark, this lotion is widely available from chemists and supermarkets. A little goes a long way so it is quite good value and if you have a look on line it is available for a much cheaper price.
A good all round moisturiser which is absorbed easily and leaves skin feeling nicely moisturised and not sticky or heavy

Today, I will be reviewing Dove's Supreme Silk Lotion which as it says on the bottle, promises to 'give skin a silky feel and a natural shimmering glow'. You can buy this lotion from Boots for
I was first introduced to this product when I had run out of some body lotion. I happened to see this bottle sticking out of a bag my sister was taking to a car boot sale, and so I 'borrowed it'. However, I ended up liking it so much that I actually kept it!
So why is this product so good?
Well first of all, I love the scent which I am greeted with when I open the bottle. It is a clean scent which for some reason reminds me of being on holiday. You can smell the scent on your skin a few hours after application which is great as it makes you feel all fresh.
I found that the lotion moisturizes my skin really well. It also absorbs really fast and easily. I like to apply it to my feet before bed. After doing a lot of walking recently, I noticed that I had some very dry skin on my feet. So I applied the lotion before bed and put on some old socks so that it would absorb more easily. When I have done this before with other lotions, they normally moisturize my feet but I am still left with dry skin. However, when I woke up the morning after applying this lotion to my feet and wearing the socks, there was no sign at all of dry skin and so I can therefore say that the product works very well and in such little time too which I thought was fantastic.
I love how soft and silky my skin feels afterwards, especially my feet. This lotion makes my feet so soft and silky that I can't help but touch my foot with the other foot; such a nice, soft feeling.
The lotion also leaves a lovely gold shimmer on your skin which I love as it gives your skin a nice soft glow. It makes me feel really confident, especially about showing my arms and legs off.
The lotion is of very high quality. It is quite thick yet not so thick that it will run. When I use this I feel really pampered.
It is not greasy which is a relief as I have quite sensitive skin and find that greasy products can leave my skin all 'spotty' and/or 'red'. However, I had no problems with this product and so would therefore say that it is suitable for sensitive skin.
One thing which I do not like about this cream is the fact that a bottle does not last me very long. I apply this lotion once daily to my arms, legs hands and feet. Perhaps it is me using a lot (I would consider it not to be that much), although a bottle only lasts me just over a week.
One bottle of this stuff costs £4.59 at Superdrug. If I had saw this in a shop I would probably not have bought it at that price unless I was really desperate for a lotion. However, as I got to try my bottle for free (thanks to my sister), I am really pleased that I did and would say that it very good value for money in terms of the fact that it works really well. To me this is the kind of lotion which I could use all the time, and would love to, but having thought about it the price puts me off. I do think to be spending £4.59 a week on this, especially when money is tight, and for a year I would need to buy fifty two bottles £238.68 a year, to me that is very expensive! So, I would therefore say that this is more of a luxury rather than a necessity.
I love this product and would definately recommend it and use it again!

I have always been a fan of Dove products and as such always get Dove sets for christmas, last year someone decided to buy me seperates and this was one of them that I previously had not tried.
The cream comes in a bottle which is thinner at the bottom then curves outover half way up and is wider at the top, it has a flip top lid and the whole thing is in white. It states on the bottle that it is a beauty body lotion for a luxurious skin experience and that it gives skin a silky feel and a natural shimmering glow. The bottle holds 250ml and costs about £4.00 a bottle although places like Boots and Tesco tend to put the Dove range on offer often.
On the rear there are lots my claims about the more luxurious skin and wrapping it is silk, you also get the list of ingredients, the symbol for a 12 month shelf life and that it is produced by unilever along with their address details.
The cream is thick and white in colour but there is no signs of any shimmer within the cream. To dispense the cream there is a hole within the flip top lid which is of a decent size so that the cream doesn't get stuck, the cream smells very much like baby lotion which i like although the smell is quite subtle. The cream is not greasy and it rubs into the skin really nicely without any resaidue and you can get on with whatever your doing as soon as you have rubbed it in as it soaked into the skin easily. As you move around you do keep getting a little smell of the scent which is noce and although I couldn't see it in the actual cream there is a shimmering quality of gold within the cream.
I would recommend this as with any Dove product it leaves your skin soft and silky which is what the company claim, one of the reasons I like dove is that their products do seem to match their claims.
One of the items i received as a Christmas Pressant, was amongst a few a bottle of this Silky Lotion made by Dove.
I was so pleased because Dove is one of the names i have used before and have never had a problem with their products affecting my skin, which can be bordering on sensative.
This bottle of Silky Smooth body lotion is a well effective moisturiser for your skin. It comes in a bottle mine containing 250mls, it is an easy to grip bottle, and has a lid that you pull to open, and click down to shut, I didnt find it a problem to open so will state that that is one of the good features about this product.
Its a supreme Silk Lotion, it is really silky and on tipping some into my hands i would say that this is definitely a thick white creamy lotion, it is easily absorbed into your skin, and doesn't take ages to rub it in. After applying a little to your skin and gently rubbing in, it makes your skin feel really soft and yes i would say silky too. My hands were blumper after applying this because it seemed to be putting back the lost moisture that i have on my hands if i had gone out in this cold weather without wearing my gloves.
I found it works well all over my body and I really loved the smell, it was fragrant but also fresh. It not only left my skin feeling silky but it also gave my skin a slight shimmering glow too.
It comes in a white bottle with a gold dove on the front, the writing on the front of the bottle comes in elegant gold lettering, and the whole look and feel to the bottle is simple but rather posh.
Use daily, to turn your skin into luxurious skin, like silk, and i find that this is one product that i will definitely be purchasing myself when the supply i have received as Christmas gifts runs out. I find that it a good edition to have and use when doing my dai8ly pampering routine. I liked the feel it left my skin with, the smell was so lovely, and the shimmering effect that my skin has after using this product.
I didnt pay for mine, but im lead to believe that a bottle containing 250 ml is just under the four pounds mark, unless you are lucky to find it on special offer.
Thank you for reading and rating my reviews.
I'm always on the lookout for bargains to keep a stock of all things beauty. When I seen this Dove Body Lotion for only £1.99 I had to give it a go.
I have always loved Dove products and have used or tried all of their shower gels, creams, body lotions, deodorants etc and this was no exception.
It states that it will leave the skin feeling silky and soft to the touch and they were pretty accurate in their judgement. The thick, white lotion is easily absorbed and isn't greasy or sticky like some other moisturisers are.
Although only a couple pounds I still noticed the fact that the skin does have a healthy glow after use of this product which was a pleasant suprise given the price.
This moisturiser I would say would be best used within the summer months because of the healthy glow it gives. I don't think that it would make much difference with really dry skin either but normal skin it'll work a treat on.
It'll defintely be something I'll pick up when it's next on offer.
I'm always buying health and beauty products and when I see one on offer I just have to give it a try. I love Dove soap, shower gel, deodorants and when I saw this body lotion on offer at Semi Chem for £1.99, well it was in my basket before I could give it a second thought.
Dove supreme silk lotion promises to give skin a silky feel and a natural shimmering glow, which sounded great but since it was only a few pounds I really didn't hold much hope of having glistening limbs.
Well how wrong was I. The lotion is pure Dove, its white, thick and luxurious, it is easily absorbed, non sticky, non greasy and I can dress pretty much straight away. It leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and silky.
But what makes it stand out is the lovely irridescent sheen it gives my skin. I was well impressed. On closer inspection I could just about see miniscule shimmery particles, a little like glitter only tiny. The glow is golden and when the light catches my skin, it gives a really healthy sheen.
I must say that this is my favourite 'going out' moisturiser for the summer season as it gives a really nice subtle glow to my skin without looking too obvious. I don't think it would cut it for seriously dry skin, or for the winter months, but for the warmer season where a lot more skin is on show, then this is a definite winner.
The glow lasts all day, surprisingly, I thought it would wear off within a few hours. I've had compliments from many people asking if I've had a fake tan, or been in the sun, and when I say its Dove, they are quite impressed, so much so that a few of my friends have gone and bought it.
I'm nearly finished my bottle, so it's on my shopping list to restock for the summer months.
