Advantages: Available in different sized containers.Works well.
Disadvantages: None for me
E45 cream is manufactured by Crookes Healthcare. It is an emollient cream suitable for external use on dry, itchy skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. It is also ideal to use as an every day hand cream to keep hands in good condition. Cream E45 is available in tubs and tubes of varying size. The large tubs are best if you need to use this as an everyday hand cream or, if you need to use a large amount due to problem skin conditions. It is suitable for all ages.
I first used this cream some years ago when suffering with dermatitis. It was recommended by my doctor.
In my opinion it is a very good product. I don't find it as gentle as Aqueous cream ALTHOUGH I find it more effective with flare ups than Aqueous cream.
It is reasonably priced but not as inexpensive as Aqueous cream.
During bad outbreaks of dermatitis I have had to use prescribed ointments, and the creams, such as E45 I have used more to keep my hands clear and rash free between bad times. E45 for me has not been a cure for dermatitis but a useful cream to use alongside prescription ointments, such as Elocon.
I would recommend it but to use with caution initially. It has always suited me and never caused an adverse reaction, and my skin is very sensitive, but I have heard that it doesn't suit all eczema sufferers.
Although I use Aqueous as an every day hand cream, if my dermatitis starts to flare up then I switch to the E45. If I use it immediately, then everything is usually kept under control and, only rarely, do I need to use stronger ointments.
It is a white emollient cream which you just squeeze a small amount on the required area. It absorbs quite well and a little of this goes a long way.
I also recommend a tube of E45 itch relief cream which is available in a 50g tube. I now always take this away on holidays as it works on itchy skin and can double up as a hand cream. It is also good for itchy skin that is flaking after being sunburnt.
Summary: A good emollient cream
