My son and I both suffer with dry skin and mild eczema so I am always on the look out for gentle products for us to use. I bought E45 Lotion Dispenser 500ml when it was on special offer in Boots, a buy one get one half price offer, so I now have enough to last for the rest of the year! It was £8.99 full price.

The lotion comes in a white 500ml plastic bottle, with a pump action dispenser, which works very well, and is simply designed with the product name on the front in blue, stating that it is dermatologically tested. The lotion is used for the symptomatic relief of dry skins conditions, such as atopic eczema and contact dermatitis. The lotion (according to the packaging) contains White soft paraffin 10 %w/w, Light liquid paraffin 4 %w/w Hypoallergenic anhydrous lanolin 1 %w/w. It can be used by all ages as often as required, though if you get a bad reaction common sense would suggest that you stop using the lotion.

The lotion is white is colour and fairly thin in my opinion, it soaks in easily and does not leave your skin feeling greasy, it is not perfumed, but has a slightly clinical smell too it, like it should actually do some good, if that makes sense.

I use the lotion on my 2 year old son once he is out of the bath all over his body and it definitely makes his skin less dry and helps a bit with the eczema, as you cannot treat eczema with steroid based creams and lotions for longer than 7 days at a time. He has not had any adverse reactions to the lotion.

I have also started using the lotion as my day moisturiser. I tend to have an oily t-zone and some patches of dry skin on my forehead. It has left my skin softer and very well moisturised and it has even helped out with controlling my oily skin a bit. It makes a great makeup base and I'm now saving money as I am not using expensive daily facial creams. I also use this as an all over body moisturizer and its great, as its not too heavy and defiantly leaves my skin less dry, especially my elbows and knees. My husband also uses this as his face moisturizer and he is a big fan.

Overall I would definitely recommend this product to others, it is a great all rounder for all the family to use.
