As a total adorer of the Elemis brand I was as pleased as punch to receive a months supply of the Cellular Recovery capsules in a goody bag at a beauty event I attended recently, I've used lots of Elemis over the years but my budget doesn't really stretch to their REALLY premium skincare range and at just a couple of pence under £63 for 60 capsules (you use two a day) this is something I honestly wouldn't have tried if it wasn't a freebie!
Thankfully, says my purse, they don't really suit my skin and have a rather drying effect on it so I won't be buying them again - they were, however, very lovely to use and I'm more than chuffed to have had the chance to try them for free as despite the dryness they did give my skin a little boost at a (cold) time of year when it was starting to feel a bit 'eugh'.
In each jar you will receive 30 pink capsules and 30 green capsules, you use a pink one each morning to kick start your skins day then a green one at night to relax and moisturise your skin. Both capsules are made with pure Moringa Oil, with the pink one having a rose fragrance and the green being lavender - I'm not sure of the science behind the capsules but it must be the fragrances that make them different to one another as both are made using only this magical sounding Moringa Oil.
It's amazing how much oil these tiny capsules contain and each one, providing you warm the oil slightly in your hands before use, holds enough for application to your face without you having to skip bits to ensure it'll stretch. I find it gorgeous to use, totally pampering in sensation with a beautifully non-greasy consistency that absorbs into my skin almost instantly - straightaway my skin feels softer and highly nourished with a texture that feels silky and smooth under my fingertips.
The dryness comes later as after an hour or so my skin doesn't exactly become tight but I start feeling that irritating itch that usually heralds a period of dryness - and I know it's these otherwise fantastic capsules causing it because I know my skin well enough that I can just tell. It's nothing a dab of moisturiser can't sort out but after paying (hypothetically speaking) over sixty quid for a months worth of facial oil I don't expect to have to go over the area with anything else to re-moisturise!
I'm glad for the dryness, it'll save me a fortune to NOT have to buy these capsules again - every cloud...
I bought these Cellular Recovery Capsules as part of an Elemis gift set that was discounted. I'd tried a similar product in Elizabeth Arden's ceramide capsules and first impressions were positive.
One of the best things about this product is the aesthetic appearance. The capsules come in lovely muted pink and green shades in a heavy-bottomed, expensive-looking jar. The product is one you're proud to have on your bathroom shelf and feels very luxurious. I also like the face that the serum is packaged into individual doses as you know you are using the right amount, you can predict when you will run out the serum so you aren't caught short and you can take individual pods with you if you are going away for an evening (I've always hated lugging around half-empty glass bottles which leak in your bag).
Presentation aside the pods are very use to use, the end simply twists off and you squeeze the contents on to the palm of your hand to apply like any other serum. I found which these particular pods the contents were a bit lumpy, not such a problem as I was applying them at night but if you use them in the day spreading bits over your face before make-up application is not ideal!
The serum itself smells lovely, predominantly of lavender, and feels luxurious sinking into your skin. The problem with the product for me is that within a couple of weeks of using the pods I started to find tight, dry patches of skin on my face. I have dry, sensitive skin and it seems the product didn't agree with it so I discontinued use and will not re-purchase
On a recent visit to the beauticians, I asked if she knew of any skin boosting products that could give my skin a bit of a lift. Through stress and one thing and another, over recent months my skin had started to look a little dull and felt a little dehydrated. I didn't want to be entering into the winter months already on a back foot, as my skin really does suffer with the cold. She suggested I tried the Elemis skin bliss capsules. Already a fan of Elemis products, I know how well they seem to work on my skin. I also know how expensive they are and having fallen foul of salon prices before, I decided to take a look on the internet when I got home. I'm so glad I did! For 60 capsules you are looking at a retail price of around £60, and here is the worst part, you need 2 capsules a day! I shopped around online and manage to find a great deal from QVC of all places, where I got a week's supply of capsules, a rose exfoliator (rose works wonders for my skin), and an illuminating flash balm for around £35. This was a better option for me as it allowed me to try the capsules and a few other products for half the price.
Despite the ridiculously high price, I really do rate this product, so much so that after only 4 days of using the product I bought a month's supply (and told my husband they were only £15!). The difference to my skin in only a few days was dramatic. It seemed to come to life and literally glowed. My skin has honestly never looked so good.
It's clear to me why these little wonder capsules won the Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible award. Although the capsules are marked as being for Mature skin, I would honestly dispute this, and say yes they will undoubtedly be an anti-ageing product, they are also suitable for all skin types. The Moringa oil within the capsules, penetrate deeply into the skin and help to retain the moisture of the skin, reduce wrinkles and remove skin blemishes (I can vouch for the last one!). Interestingly when I have googled Moringa Oil, it is reportedly well known in India to treat acne. I suffer from Rosacea and my skin at the moment looks like I have normal skin and do not suffer with any skin condition at all, it's glowing, and I truly believe it is solely because of these capsules. If it does this for my problem skin, I wonder what the results would be for someone with normal skin - supermodels beware!
The antioxidants within the capsules also work to clean the skin cells of harmful toxins, which again will provide the skin with a clear and glowing complexion. Elemis have suggested using these capsules alongside the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which is also super expensive but I've heard amazing things about that too. I've yet to try it but its definitely on my wish list. I have found however, that after cleansing and toning, I apply the skin bliss capsules to the skin instead of a moisturiser and this has been enough. My skin feels instantly hydrated and I wouldn't say a moisturiser was needed. Because of the cost of these capsules though, I will be alternating between using the capsules and I may invest in the marine cream for the times when I am not using the skin bliss capsules.
I seem to have gone on about how amazing these capsules are without actually explaining the difference I have noticed in my skin, so I will list the benefits I have noticed (after 5 weeks):
Reduced (hardly have any) black pores,
Increased elasticity of the skin,
Increased hydration of the skin,
General improved visibility of the tone (given a naturally dewy glow),
Reduction (from severe rosacea to no blemishes / marks) of blemishes.
Using the capsules is easy. The are two different coloured capsules, pink and green; pink is for a morning, green for an evening. The difference is the oil within them. The pink contains an extract of rose (which works incredibly well for my skin), and the green contains lavender, which works to calm the skin before bed, but I find the scent quite relaxing and I apply just before I go to bed. The oils used both in the morning and an evening are both absorbed quickly and do not leave the skin with any type of oily residue.
This product really is a wonder item, it produces a number of improvements / benefits to the skin in one product. I don't know of anything like this on the market.
Recommended, if you can face the cost.
Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules.
I was given these capsules recently as a gift along with 2 other Elemis products.
The capsules come in a small white plastic pot with a white and silver screw top lid. When you open the pot the pot is divided into two sections. One section contains the green capsules and the other section contains the pink capsules. The actual capsules are about 0.5 centimetres long and have a plastic outer. The capsules feel quite squidgy and are filled with liquid.
The capsules are marketed for anti-ageing. They contain pure Moringa Oil with its unique anti-ageing properties to dramatically renew skin elasticity and skin youthfulness. Anti-Oxidants physically repair the visible signs of ageing and counteract the damaging effects of pollution by sweeping clean your network of skin cells, ridding it of harmful toxins.
The directions say to use one pink Rose capsule in the morning to stimulate micro circulation and vitality. Follow in the evening with one green Lavender capsule to repair the skin and encourage a peaceful night's sleep.
The capsules are really simply to use, I just twisted the top off the capsule and the contents dispersed easily. There is enough of the product in each capsule for exactly one application and I did not find this product too oily or too drying, the texture was light and they smelt lovely. The pink ones smelt very much of rose and the green ones of lavender. The 2 different scents were in no way unpleasant and actually very floral and uplifting.
The capsules contain:
I experienced great results whilst using these capsules, they are easy to use, easy to store and contain just the right amount of product. They made my skin look bright and feel supple. They worked exceptionally well in reducing fine lines and crows feet. All in all a very good and very effective product. I found this product especially good to use in conjunction with Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Cream.
Great and effective product, it they were not so expensive, £58 for 60 capsules I would use them all the time. Unfortunately £58 for just over one month's supply fo these capsules is not within my budget but great if you can afford them!
Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules are to die for. Designed to improve the signs of ageing, these serum filled capsules are an absolute wonder product. You get a tub with 30 pink (day) capsules containing rose essential oils and 30 green (night) capsules containing lavendar essential oils along with a raft of other formulations which you are supposed to use on a daily basis, however as I haven't yet won the lottery I cant afford to do that as they are a bit pricey at around £50. I still find that occasional use is ample for my normal skin. They are to be applied to cleansed skin, cut off the top of the capsule, and empty the contents onto your fingertips and gently smooth the serum over the skin, whilst breathing in the delicious essential oils. These are designed to be used under your usual moisturiser, and does not leave the skin feeling greasy or oily at all. It just enhances the power of your normal moisturiser, and is superb to use during the colder winter months. It ensures your skin is perfectly hydrated and silky soft. However, if these capsules get cold, the serum does solidify and needs to be warmed up by rubbing in the palm of your hand.
:: INTRODUCTION ::
I've been using Elemis Booster Facials done in their salons for the past two years on a monthly / two monthly basis. I have combination skin which means black spots (oxidised pores full of bacteria) and greasy areas are centred on and around my nose and chin but the rest of the face tend to be dry and in sometimes even red dry and patched especially on the cheeks. I also have sensitive skin due to an apparently very common allergy to nickel and to some extent chrome which meant I also had to be very selective about my beauty regime. My Elemis therapist recommended these Bliss Capsules to combat all the above problems.

:: PACKAGING ::
As most Elemis products it comes in a simple but elegant white packaging that has the silver embossed logo and product name written on it. The Bliss Capsules looks just like a classic pot of cream but inside you'll actually find two compartments that contain two types of capsules with a teardrop-shaped rubbery coat in either pink or green colour.
:: APPEARANCE AND APPLICATION ::
The capsules are to be used on cleansed skin. Tear open the capsule and you'll find about 1ml of blended oil inside. Spread the oil over your face inclduing the eye area gently massaging with your fingertips. Both types of capsules contain pure moringa oil which is a type of 'dry oil' meaning it is absorbed very quickly and won't leave an oily residue.
Moringa oil comes from the Miracle Tree in Tanzania and is known for its anti-ageing properties. Unrefined moringa oil has a strong, earthy smell that I cannot detect here. The benefits of moringa oil are enhancing skin elasticity and giving it youthful radiance.
Rose absolute is used in the pink capsules that you're meant to use in the morning before putting on your day cream. Rose oil is renowned for its hydrating properties and is used extensively in cosmetics.
Lavender essential oil is used in the green capsules to apply at night before applying your night cream. Lavender oil has anti-bacterial and oil balancing properties and it also calms reactive, sensitive skin.
:: RESULTS ::
I bought the one month's supply of 2 x 30 Bliss Capsules tub at a cost of £58 and used it twice daily during the end of year nearing Christmas and partly in January too. I had basically used them up in time for my next Elemis facial. A few days after starting the treatment I could already feel the difference in not having to fear the usual daily flare-up or red patches on my skin which was always at its worst in winter. My skin felt more elastic and hydrated too.
All is well, however the biggest surprise came when my therapist showed me the results of the skin lab when I turned up for the facial. Basically the skin lab is a UV photo of your skin that shows different aspects of your skin: pores, texture, UV exposure, wrinkles, dehydration, etc. The images showed an almost total elimination of bacteria from around the nose and chin area and the pores appeared a lot smaller too. Overall skin texture also improved. What I saw was signs of a calmed, reaction-free and hydrated complexion.
:: CONCLUSION ::
What amazed me about the capsules is that the improvements on my skin were visible in as little as four weeks. This means that by completing the 30-day course you'll have detoxified and improved skin. The capsules did an excellent job on reducing redness and sensitivity on my cheeks and eliminating blackheads and bacteria in the congested nose and chin area. I've never used a product that could do that alone and in such a short time.
:: PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ::
Available in Elemis salons, department stores and online but it is expensive. I only bought the first 60 capsules from the salon then I went on Ebay and got it for half price what was essentially a refill pack meaning I received 2 x 30 capsules without the container. I do recommend you buying this way.
Thanks for reading.

Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules - Anti ageing
Elemis the company was founded in 1989. It actually came about by them identifying a gap in the spa and salon industry for a company that could provide a comprehensive service orientated range of advanced skin and body care, combined with a dynamic treatment offering. Now, according to their website, Elemis is the leading luxury British spa and skincare brand favoured by over 5.7 million spa-goers every year.
Before I had even tried any of their products, Elemis always appeared to me to be a luxury product that was probably a bit more expensive than I was willing to pay. The packaging always looked very up-market and salon like and I had heard about their scientific formulations that must have cost a lot to produce. Since this product was free though I decided I couldn't grumble and decided to give it a go.
These Elemis Skin Bliss capsules are said to help repair the visible signs of ageing and counteract the damaging effect of pollution. So, what exactly are they though? They are basically an oil, contained in a tiny little capsule. To me they basically look like a tiny little rubber bottle. The top of it snaps off when you twist it to reveal the oil liquid inside. It looks exactly like cooking oil and has that same consistency as well. Each capsule is only 0.21ml so you only get a tiny amount in each one. When the liquid comes out into your hands it is probably about a pea size amount.
The capsules are said to have 1700% more anti-oxidant power than other cosmetic oils and they are supposed to balance and repair stressed skin and restore a youthful bloom. Once you have twisted the top off and let the oil come out onto your hands they do advise you to warm the oil between the palm of your hands and then apply to a cleansed face and neck. Even though there is not much liquid I do find that there is definitely enough to be able to spread all over your face which is nice. The oil goes on quite smoothly and surprisingly enough it does not make your face feel oily or greasy in anyway. I really though it would have the opposite effect so I was pleasantly surprised. After I applied it my face felt like it was super moisturised and almost like it had a barrier on it against all the nasty stuff in the air. When I applied it in the morning I felt like I could go out with no make up on but have a really well looked after face. It does say on the Elemis website that it counteracts the damaging effects of pollution by sweeping clean your network of skin cells, ridding it of harmful toxins and this really did feel like it worked exactly like it says on my face.
The capsules come in two different varieties. There is a pink rose capsule that you use in the morning and a green lavender one that you use at night. They both smell just like rose and lavender which is quite pleasant but not overpowering because you can smell that fragrance on your face for a little while afterwards. I was not able to figure out though why they had a fragrance and if they did something different or why you were meant to use one fragrance in the morning and on in the evening but oh well.
The capsules contain pure Moringa Oil from the Tanzanian "Miracle Tree" which has unique anti-ageing properties and will dramatically renew skin elasticity and skin youthfulness. I think this is definitely a bold statement but I can see how these capsules would do that for your skin. I do think though that you probably need to use the capsules frequently and not once in a while to achieve a renewed skin.
Like I said the packaging is very spa like. The capsules come in a heavy frosted glass tub with a screw on lid. An E logo for Elemis is printed on the top of the tub and then the product name is written on the front. The tub I had contained 14 of the capsules, 7 of each but you can buy a tub that has 60 capsules in it. 60 capsules, which if you use two every day, morning and evening will be a one months supply costs £58.
When my husband first gifted me these I was a bit dubious - mainly because I was only 25 at the time, and being presented with an anti-ageing product isn't the most flattering of presents, but he assured me the sales lady had told him that it was suitable for my age range too - so I gave them a shot and they are pretty good. I don't use them everyday as recommended as it would cost a fortune as each pot only lasts a month, with 30 morning and 30 evening capsules in and cost about £60 - but even using them once or twice a week seems to improve my skins appearance making it smoother and looking fresher.
There are 2 parts to these twist top capsules - You use a Rose one in the morning to stimulate microcirculation and vitality and Lavender in the evening to repair the skin and both capsules contain pure moringa oil which aparently has unique anti-ageing which dramatically improve skin's elasticity and youthfulness.
I tend to get a pot of these now, most Christmas/Birthday's/Anniversary's from my husband, as he know's they'll be appreciated so it's an easy gift for him to get right - but I've never brought them myself unlike other products from the Elemis Skincare range, which is probably a sign, that whilst I like them and I think they improve my skin tone and texture, its not dramatic enough for me to warrant spending my own money on - although I recognise that that probably due to me still being in my 20's and a bit young for anti-ageing products (I hope!)
Formulated with a high concentration of Anti-Oxidant power, naturally found in Moringa Oil from the Tanzanian Miracle Tree, these Skin Bliss Capsules, when applied to the skin, help repair the visible signs of ageing and counteract the damaging effects of pollution / Helps repair the visible signs of ageing , Balances stressed skin , Restores a youthful bloom,
