Elemis Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash is a product I received as a gift in a goody bag and something I had never used before. The very first thing that caught my attention was the amazingly bright Fuschia Pink colour of the packaging which is lovely, bright and stunning.
What they say - "With deep pore cleansing action, this exfoliating facial wash contains cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish and help refine skin texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed to soften and condition, leaving skin clear, brightened and more radiant". So already I am looking forward to trying this on my skin and seeing if my skin does infact look as wonderful as this product states it will.
Aside from the amazing packing and the list of ingredients mentioned, it is hardly surprising that this product is also wonderfully scented. For me the scent that accompanies this product is zesty and most definitely orangey. The gel itself is an orangey colour which perfectly matches the scent and it is also a fairly thick texture so you don't need to use more than a 10p sized blob to use effectively on the whole of your face. When it comes to using this product all you need to do is massage it into and onto wet skin using what is referred to as gentle but fast circulation motions all over face. As you massage this product onto your face that orangey scent really comes to life. The jobjoba beads which are the exfoliator are finely ground but as you massage your skin you can feel them working away to remove dead and dry skin cells. Once you have finished, simply use a damp cloth to remove any excess gel and all the debris it has removed and then pat (don't rub) your skin dry.
Alongside the Jobjoba Beads there is a list of ingredients, all of which do really good things for the skin. Starting with Aniseed which helps to clear and brighten your complexion. Sweet Almond Oil which is a favourite ingredient of mine, is a great moisturiser which not only helps to protect the surface of the skin, but it is also good for nourishing the skin leaving it feeling soft, smooth and moisturised. The Cherry Powder which I briefly mentioned helps to refine your skins texture and works with the jobjoba beads to remove dirt, debris, dead and dry skin cells. Finally there is mandarin, the ingredient for me which gives that amazing fruity scent to this product and it helps to increase circulation.
After using this product on my skin I was surprised at how much brighter it look and how soft it felt, I have quite a good skin care regime but I am always surprised at how much good my skin is after a good exfoliation session which I try to do at least once a week to give extra attention to my nose, chin and forehead. As I have combination skin which leans towards the oily side, I always try to look for and use a product which isn't going to cause a reaction and the only reaction this product gave was lovely soft bright skin.
Elemis Freshskin is now available in Superdrug where a 100ml tube will cost £11.99 and personally I think that is a real bargain. My tube is a 30ml tube and since I got it back in July I have been using it once a week and am yet to use even a third of the tube, so it will definitely last a long time.
