I am a big fan of elemis products having been introduced to them at a spa. My top tip is try them out in a spa or salon then go home and find the best prices on the internet.
The herbal lavender repair mask has a lovely fresh lavender scent. The consistency is that of a thick cream, the colour is a greyish greenish cream. It goes on easily just like a cream, I use it quite sparingly and tend not to bother putting it on my neck. After being on my face for 5 minutes I get a slight tingling sensation on my forehead and the mask is starting to dry out around my lips and on my forehead. The mask doesn't fall off in flakes when it dries out (could be because I put a thin layer on) so it isn't messy. When it comes to removing the mask simply use warm water to wash it off then pat dry, the mask turns into a milky colour when washed off. My skins feels lovely and smooth once it is fully dry.
Elemis recommend leaving it on for 10-15 min, using twice weekly and exfoliating before use. I must admit I don't use it anywhere near twice weekly but use it as a treat at home when having a soak in the bath and a bit of chill out time.
I don't think this product is too expensive, sachets of single face masks can be 99p-£1.49, I could easily get 15 masks out of the tube (again it depends how much you put on)
