Advantages: Smooth, plump face

Disadvantages: Expensive!!

Elemis is a luxury skin care brand that I have been fortunate to try recently as I received a gift box from an old boss last Christmas. It is such an expensive brand so is something I would have never bought on my own but I'm so lucky to have had the chance to try it as it really is luxurious and works amazingly well on my skin. The gift box I received was full of different skin items such as hand creams, lip balms, skin pods etc and this Pro-Collagen quartz mask that I am reviewing.

According to an article I read, "Specialising in targeted skin and body care, Elemis use natural active ingredients combined with cutting-edge science to create leading, luxury spa-driven beauty products. Producing some of the most influential anti-ageing products and professional spa treatments, Elemis pride themselves as one of leading names of the beauty industry. Elemis' award-winning skincare range will deliver definite results, while their luxurious body range will enlighten the senses and leave you feeling like you have had a true Elemis spa experience."

This mask is part of their anti-ageing range which contain collagen boosting plant/marine actives & focus on skin renewal actions, challenging the ageing process. As I'm getting older this is definitely something I could do with so I have been using this now and again for a couple of months. I got a 15ml tube of it in my gift box and although on the back it says to use twice weekly for optimal results I can't bear to finish the tube as even though I love it I don't think I can justify paying over £30 for a new tube so I will stick to using a little bit every couple of weeks.

On the back of the tube it says that, "This luxurious mask combines the power of Quartz with Padina Pavonica, adaptogenic Noni, Moringa and Argan Tree Oil (whatever they all are!!) to instantly uplift the skin and help minimise the signs of ageing for a more youthful, firmer appearance.

The mask is a white cream and when you squeeze it out onto your hands you can see that it has got quite a rubbery texture to it as the formula seems to stick together. This is obviously the collagen in the formula so its nice to see that it is actually in there. The cream is quite thick and so I only need to apply a thin layer to my face. You can feel it in top of your skin so it doesn't soak in like a thinner cream or anything like that. The directions are to leave it on for about 8-10 minutes and then remove with warm water. This cream doesn't really get hard and tighten like a cheaper regular face mask does, it just seems to get a bit firm on my face and I can feel it on my skin like I've said above. It has a pleasant fresh smell to it, no fruity flavour or anything like that, just a nice cream smell and no chemical smell which is good.

Once i have rinsed it off with warm water my skin is definitely a lot smoother and its really nice to touch and smooth my hands across. I also think for a day or so afterwards my skin looks really fresh and plump and this affect lasts for a few days so I like to do this mask before i have a big day or night out. It's unfortunate that I can't use it all the time because it is so expensive and I just can't justify it but I'm sure it would produce amazing results if you did use it twice weekly.
