      Very helpful

Brilliant product that is so much like a leading brand but with less money.

      ***Why I want the product***
Since my middle 20's and since the birth of my daughter four years ago. I have started with problem skin that has started to be the bane of my life. I have tried endless of products that are said to help problem skin. But the trouble with these products are they can be very irritating. This leaves my sensitive skin red, irritated and sore. So because of this I have been on the lookout for a none irritating product that can help my problem skin without causing me so much more problems.

While purchasing some products from ELF Cosmetics one time I noticed in the mineral line they have a product called Mineral Blemish Kit.

ELF states on their website the Mineral Blemish Kit can help to heal and disguise blemishes with all natural ingredients. It is a translucent powder with acne fighting ingredients such as Sulfur, Tea Tree and Willow Bark. Sounds too good to be true?

      ***ELF Cosmetics or Bare Essentuals?***
Before purchasing this product, because I had never heard of it before myself I decided to do some research and to my surprise a lot of people love this product and rate it very highly to Bare Essentuals /Minerals, which again I never knew existed).

Both products and ingredients lists are also very similar indeed with a very different price points. Both products have 3.0% Sulfur, which is the active ingredient. Both contain Willow Bark, Tea Tree, Corn Starch Modified, which is a plant extract. Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, which is known for Fragrance and a Antioxidant. Titanium Dioxide, which is known for its pigment and sunscreen as well as other ingredients.

Mineral Blemish Kit comes in a round pot that looks sleek with its plastic chrome looking screw off lid that can double up as a mirror it is that clear. The front says elf Mineral Blemish Kit in black. Underside sees the see through sifter plastic 3.3g of product container.
Unscrewing the lid you can see the product through the sifter holes like in all mineral products.

      ***How to use this product***
With all minerals you tap a small amount of product into the lid, taking the brush that is included you press the brush into the minerals and apply on areas that need spot treatment or light concealing. You can use this treatment nightly, daily or whenever needed.

      ***How have I used it?***
I have used this over on bare skin at night, in the morning before applying makeup or thickly onto the effected area throughout the day. I like my mineral foundation and have liked it for years now. My face always seem so much lighter, fresher and brighter when I apply mineral foundation as well as feeling like my face can breathe. Even though just lately due to me being on different mediations due to my back, some have played with my skin making me break out a little more than usual and me having to apply a full coverage liquid foundation for me to feel more confident.

Taking a small amount of product into the brush, the product is pale like a pale skin tone than white or translucent. It is very finely milled and very soft to the touch. Tapping the treatment onto my blemish I find the brush is difficult for it to make a flawless finish so I end up tapping it onto the spot or blemish as much as I can and then finish with blending the powder out with a clean finger. The product leaves little trace of powder being there and no glitter that shins a beacon on what you are trying to hide.

With different treatments that can irritate my skin quicker, my face can get red quickly and I found Mineral Blemish also helped calming redness on my face, calming it down and almost like it was helping to heal.

I have also got a bigger fluffy brush and gently and lightly swipe it all over my face before bed for extra healing, especially on red areas or large areas I want help with.

The treatment I found does not conceal them at all but actually helps to disguise it slightly. If applying in the day I would apply a very light layer to the effected area and then preceded with the rest of my makeup. Night time is a different story as I find more product can be applied and pushed into the skin and more product can be applied as often as necessary.
If I am also staying in all day and do not have to worry about seeing anyone or applying makeup. I will apply a thick layer and keep applying throughout the day without worrying that my skin will become red, irritated and sore. This never happens.

      ***The morning after***
Even though Sulfur is the active ingredient, because it is a small amount the content is adequate to do the trick, but defiantly not over night. However, I have noticed Mineral Blemish has the ability to help with inflammation on spots if you act quickly, helps to heal and calm the skin down as well as drying it out.

The night after I applied it to my red, very hot and irritated cheeks I noticed how smooth my skin felt, the redness subsided completely and although my spots and blemishes are still visible they had shrunk. Applying mineral makeup, which with problem skin can sometimes be unforgiving; my skin actually looked flawless to the point where I got complements on how I have a lovely complexion.

Due to its pale tone I would think on darker skin tones it would look ashy but due to the powder being so fine with the tiniest amount I think all skin tones could wear this product.

      ***Price and availability***
You can purchase Mineral Blemish Kit from elfcosmetics.co.uk for £7.50. This has recently gone up in price but ELF regularly has discounts in which this beauty can be picked up for less.

***What I think about it/do I like it?***
It is a lovely product with great ingredients to help with problem skin that may be bothering you or to help with healing. I have had my pot around six months and I am under half way now, personally I think that is great value for money.
To say it is also very much like Bare Essentuals with a lot less money I think it is a super product that I will be purchasing again.
